Benefício previdenciário rural por idade no município de Santo Antônio do Sudoeste: contraposição das abordagens tradicional e das capacitações

A partir da análise do papel dos benefícios de aposentadoria rurais, retroativo e mensal, no município de Santo Antonio do Sudoeste, constatou-se que o benefício mensal é uma fonte de renda para suprir necessidades básicas de consumo. As famílias dos segurados são mais “pobres” em termos de privações de capacidades (abordagem das capacitações) do que em termos de renda (abordagem tradicional). Privações como baixo nível de escolaridade, de acesso a informações, e problemas de saúde os impedem de realizar atividades que possibilitem condições diferenciadas das vividas atualmente, ou seja, dificultam a participação efetiva na comunidade (integração social, política e econômica).----------------------From the analysis of the role of rural retirement benefits, retroactive and monthly, in the municipality of Santo Antonio do Sudoeste, it was found that the monthly benefit is a source of income to meet basic needs of consumption. The families of the insured are more "poor" in terms of deprivation of capabilities (capabilities approach) than in terms of income (traditional approach). Habermas, China und die "halbierte Moderne" : im Gespräch mit dem chinesischen Sozialphilosophen und Übersetzer Cao Weidong

Seit den 1980er Jahren erfreut sich die kritische Theorie im intellektuellen Diskurs Chinas großer Beliebtheit. Dank der chinesischen Reformpolitik wird die Sozialphilosophie der Frankfurter Schule zunehmend als Methode verwendet, um den politischen Alltag und den gesellschaftlichen Wandel kritisch zu analysieren. Hierbei spielen die Schriften von Jürgen Habermas und besonders seine Ansichten zur Zivilgesellschaft, Öffentlichkeit und zur Schlüsselrolle der Kommunikation eine wichtige Rolle. Im Rahmen der vom Interdisziplinären Zentrum für Ostasienwissenschaften der Goethe-Universität veranstalteten Konferenz »Kritik – Theorie – Kritische Theorie. Die Frankfurter Schule in China« gab der Habermas-Experte und Übersetzer Cao Weidong Einblick in das chinesische »Habermas-Fieber«

Experience, Its Edges, and Beyond

This essay offers a reflection on the notion of experience considered within the context of framework of relational ontology. The primary advantage of such a consideration is that it escapes the consequences of subject-object accounts of experience, accounts which either laud the cognitive subject as master of the experienced world or exile it to an existence in a world it does not experience as its own. Setting experience within a relational ontology and developing a participatory epistemology around the concept offers an inter-active account of experience as an ontological process and an integrated account of knowing and being. This ends the traditional privileging the human as a cognitive subject and opens the way to thinking of all elements within interactive processes as interpretive agencies. Furthermore, it allows the category of interpretation to be freed from the domain of cognitive subjects and to become a descriptor of ontological interaction in general.<br/

Shoujo versus Seinen? Address and reception in Puella Magi Madoka Magica (2011)

This article uses the Japanese television anime series Puella Magi Madoka Magica (2011) as a case study through which to problematise the relationship between two prominent traditions within children’s literature criticism: narratology, with its vocabulary of implied readers and textual address; and reception studies, which typically gather data through empirical work with children. The figure of the “child reader” is claimed by both traditions, although in one case that reader is a textual construct and in the other a human being; yet this ambiguity is not typically addressed within studies of individual texts. Puella Magi Madoka Magica, a complex work that disrupts viewer expectations and genre assumptions, both destabilises its implied viewership and challenges conventional beliefs about the tastes and capacities of actual viewers, especially the extent to which those viewers can be categorised by age or gender. I argue that, by taking a sideways step from page to screen, and especially by analysing a non-Western work, it is possible to highlight the contingent and arbitrary nature of some of the assumptions that permeate literary critical discussion, and to help bring narratalogical and reception studies into a more productive relationship

Recognition and Exploitation of Gate Structure in SAT Solving

In der theoretischen Informatik ist das SAT-Problem der archetypische Vertreter der Klasse der NP-vollständigen Probleme, weshalb effizientes SAT-Solving im Allgemeinen als unmöglich angesehen wird. Dennoch erzielt man in der Praxis oft erstaunliche Resultate, wo einige Anwendungen Probleme mit Millionen von Variablen erzeugen, die von neueren SAT-Solvern in angemessener Zeit gelöst werden können. Der Erfolg von SAT-Solving in der Praxis ist auf aktuelle Implementierungen des Conflict Driven Clause-Learning (CDCL) Algorithmus zurückzuführen, dessen Leistungsfähigkeit weitgehend von den verwendeten Heuristiken abhängt, welche implizit die Struktur der in der industriellen Praxis erzeugten Instanzen ausnutzen. In dieser Arbeit stellen wir einen neuen generischen Algorithmus zur effizienten Erkennung der Gate-Struktur in CNF-Encodings von SAT Instanzen vor, und außerdem drei Ansätze, in denen wir diese Struktur explizit ausnutzen. Unsere Beiträge umfassen auch die Implementierung dieser Ansätze in unserem SAT-Solver Candy und die Entwicklung eines Werkzeugs für die verteilte Verwaltung von Benchmark-Instanzen und deren Attribute, der Global Benchmark Database (GBD)

Automated Explanation Selection for Scientific Discovery

Automated reasoning is a key technology in the young but rapidly growing field of Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI). Explanability helps build trust in artificial intelligence systems beyond their mere predictive accuracy and robustness. In this position paper, we propose a cycle of scientific discovery that combines machine learning with automated reasoning for the generation and the selection of explanations. We present a taxonomy of explanation selection problems that draws on insights from sociology and cognitive science. These selection criteria subsume existing notions and extend them with new properties
