    Organizational factors fostering employee green behavior in the workplace: Study on the leather industry

    This study investigates the influencing factors that foster green employee behavior in the workplace. The objective of this study is to measure the impact of environmental concern, green human resources practices, environmental knowledge, and green organizational culture on green employee behavior at the workplace. As the potential sample, the study only considered working employees of various medium-sized organizations of the leather industry in Bangladesh. The survey questionnaire was developed on Google Forms using a five-point Likert scale. 300 online questionnaires were sent to the respondents, and 215 responses were deemed valid, showing a response rate of 71%. Moreover, a 5% significance level and SPSS software were used to analyze the data regarding the research purpose of this study. Cronbach’s alpha (α) and factor loading values were used for the reliability and validity of the variables. OLS regression was used to test the hypotheses. This study results find that employees’ concern for the environment, organizational green HRM, necessary information about the environment, green culture, and leadership style are critical for fostering green behavioral outcomes at the workplace. These four factors explained 48.6% of variations on the dependent variable. It is also found that environmental concern (β = 0.274, p < 0.05**) has the highest impact on employee behavior, and green HR practices (β = 0.145, p < 0.05**) have the lowest impact on employee behavior

    Determinants of consumer motivation to use online food delivery apps: An empirical investigation of Bangladesh

    This study aims to investigate the influencing elements of consumers’ behavioral intention to use online food delivery apps in Bangladesh. MS Excel and SPSS were used to calculate the relevant information. The targeted population of this study is the current users of online food delivery apps in Bangladesh. The final sample size is 368, with a response rate of 92%. The information was gathered from the respondents through a web-based survey in Google Forms. Due to the nature of the study object, the purposeful sampling method has been used and is quantitative and exploratory. The results show that five predictors affect consumers’ intention to use food delivery apps. The findings demonstrate that social influence, perceived trust, perceived safety, performance expectancy, and effort expectancy significantly affect the consumers’ usage intention of food delivery apps. The study also found that perceived trust is the strongest predictor of usage intention among five intention predictors. However, following an extensive literature review, only a few studies have been conducted in this context, so there is a deficiency in investigating key influencing factors of users’ motivation to adopt online food delivery apps in Bangladesh. Therefore, this study could be indispensable for app delivery operators, governmental and non-governmental organizations, businesses, and researchers to make policies and strategies to create intention among consumers to use online food delivery apps

    Impact of dynamic capabilities and green HR on sustainable performance in SMEs

    The purpose of this study is to explore how internal and external dynamic capabilities and green human resource (HR) practices enhance sustainable outcomes in SMEs. Data were collected using a survey methodology targeting employees of SMEs located in the northern region of Bangladesh and West Bengal, India. A total of 327 employees participated in the survey conducted between May and June 2024. A five-point Likert scale was employed to assess the responses, and regression analysis was used to test the study’s hypotheses. The analysis was conducted at a 5% significance level, and the data were analyzed using the SPSS software package to ensure accuracy and reliability. The results indicate that internal and external dynamic capabilities, as well as green HR practices, play a significant role in shaping the sustainable performance of SMEs. External dynamic capabilities (β = 0.498, p < 0.05**) have the highest effect on the sustainable performance of SMEs, and internal capability (β = 0.384, p < 0.05**) has the second highest effect on SME performance. Additionally, a significant positive correlation (r = 0.498) was found between green HR practices and the overall performance of SMEs. This study contributes to the growing body of literature by providing empirical evidence on the critical factors driving sustainable performance in SMEs. It highlights the importance of integrating dynamic capabilities and environmentally conscious HR practices to achieve long-term sustainability in the SME sector, particularly in the context of developing countries like Bangladesh and India

    Purpose: The main purpose of the present study is to find comparative job satisfaction scores between different levels of employees (foremen and workers). Design/Methodology/Approach: Researcher has selected sugar industrial sector of Bangladesh as research ground. On the basis of stratified random sampling, 300 respondents have been selected from 5 (five) state-run sugar mills. This study is absolutely based on primary sources of information. To measure job satisfaction, the Job Satisfaction Index (JSI) developed by Brayfield and Rothe (1951) has been used in this study. This study conducted a face-to-face interview with a scheduled of questionnaire for data collection and the core value of workers satisfaction and dissatisfaction that they feel from working in different sugar mills in Bangladesh are placed here. Data were analyzed using SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science). Findings: The research exposed that a pointedly higher percentage of the foreman was gratified with their existent job but not statistically significant. The study also revealed that some job-related factors have the significant contribution on job satisfaction than those of personal factors for both groups of respondents. Originality/ Value: This paper investigated the impact of job facets and personal factors on job satisfaction of the employees. This study used primary data sources. The study suggested that pay, recognition for good work, participation in decision making, promotion, and good relationship with colleagues were more important as determinants of job satisfaction, so superfluous prominence should be given on these for humanizing workplace pleasure of the workers and foremen of sugar industry

    Green human resource management and job pursuit intention: mediating role of corporate social responsibility and organizational reputation

    This study aimed to evaluate whether green human resource management practice encourages prospective candidates to join environmentally responsible enterprises through organizational reputation and corporate social responsibility. The sample was gathered from 402 students from various universities in Bangladesh using a pre-structured questionnaire. The link between the latent components has been explained by analyzing the obtained data using the Partial Least Squares Method (PLSM) of Structural equation Modeling (SEM). The findings indicated that green human resources management has a positive relationship with job pursuit intention and organizational reputation and that corporate social responsibility plays a significant mediating role in this relationship. Students studying in universities in Bangladesh reported having higher job pursuit intentions towards organizations that practice environmental responsibility. The results also show that green human resource management is a source for luring graduated students to pursue careers in green firms and will enable practitioners to combine green human resource management with their conventional human resource practices to employ qualified applicants. The results provide valuable insights into the nature of green human resource management and how the top management is committed to green initiatives in an emerging economy like Bangladesh. Also, the results will help the top management understand how to use green human resource management projects to create corporate social responsibility initiatives and an excellent corporate reputation and attract highly qualified, socially responsible employees to improve environmental performance in organizations. The national policymakers may also get input in designing a green human resource management policy for the economy. Bangladesh is a climate-vulnerable country with a minimal practice of green human resource management in the economy, so the empirical findings of this study will attract researchers, academicians, and practitioners of human resource management to carry out further research in the economy of this area. Finally, this study contributes to the body of knowledge in the still-emerging subject of green human resource management by empirically showing worthy outcomes

    Influence of COVID-19 and employees’ response to deviations on employee enactment

    Developing countries’ economies are in shambles as a result of the coronavirus. Developing countries like Bangladesh began opening its business sector in May 2020 in order to preserve the economy. To mitigate the effect of coronavirus, the government has implemented “new normal” guidelines for businesses. The primary goals of this research are to determine how the COVID-19 pandemic has influenced employee performance and to determine the workers’ perspectives regarding the changes that have been made to their everyday lives. To complete this research, employee performance was assessed using the employee response to change (ERC) method. Employees from many sectors have been studied. For this research, 300 people from various sectors were surveyed online at random. The study was quantitative as well as exploratory. It was based solely on original data. The research used a non-probability sampling approach to collect data. The survey questionnaire was sent to those who replied via Google Forms. Results and visual representations are found using SPSS software and Microsoft Excel. COVID-19 and the reaction to employee changes have a considerable detrimental influence on employee performance, according to all of the study’s findings. The employee’s focus, communication, and attention to work are all adversely affected by these “new normal” alterations</jats:p

    Determinants of Customer-Based Brand Equity on Brand Image: The moderating role of Tourism Management and Advertisement

    In the context of the Bangladesh tourist sector, this study seeks to clarify the factors that influence customer-based brand equity and brand image as well as to pinpoint the moderating effects of tourism management and advertising. Using a multi-stage sampling technique, data were gathered from guests of a chosen group of Bangladeshi 4- and 5-star hotels using structured questionnaires, and smart PLS 2.0 was used for analysis. This study intends to uncover the brand image moderating effects of tourism management and advertising as well as to further define the factors of customer-based brand equity that influence brand image. The following 18 (eighteen) research hypotheses have been generated to test the proposed research model for this empirical study based on a thorough evaluation of discussed marketing and branding.</p
