Creating a sustainable quality management system in assisted reproductive technologies

Assisted reproductive technology (ART) programs are complex organizations requiring the integration of multiple disciplines. ISO 9001:2008 is a quality management system that is readily adaptable to an ART program. A quality ART program sets quality objectives and monitors their progress. ISO provides a sense of transparency within the organization and clearer understanding of how service is provided to patients. Most importantly, ISO provides the framework to allow for continual improvement. Thus, the purpose of this study is to establish a framework by which to approach the issue of quality management system in ART, delineate the various components of quality that exist in health care, and explore how these elements affect one another. The process management philosophy in ART begins its focus on the customer/patient and their requirements; everything to do with quality starts and ends with the customer/ patient. What the customer/patient wants, needs and expects becomes the input to the quality management system. This input then feeds into the service planning process and finally into requirements for service delivery. Management responsibility (leadership), resource management (people, facilities and equipment), product realization (process) and measurement analysis and improvement (improvement for the customer/patient satisfaction) describe what practices must do to deliver quality services. To the customers, competitors and the outside world, a clinic/practice's business strategy is communicated through its marketing message, strategic partnerships and development of mutually beneficial supplier relationships. In order to assure high quality and continual improvement, it is recommended that all ART centers striving for excellence should consider a Quality Management system

Critical current density and vortex pinning in tetragonal FeS1x_{1-x}Sex_{x} (x=0,0.06x=0,0.06)

We report critical current density (JcJ_c) in tetragonal FeS single crystals, similar to iron based superconductors with much higher superconducting critical temperatures (TcT_{c}'s). The JcJ_c is enhanced 3 times by 6\% Se doping. We observe scaling of the normalized vortex pinning force as a function of reduced field at all temperatures. Vortex pinning in FeS and FeS0.94_{0.94}Se0.06_{0.06} shows contribution of core-normal surface-like pinning. Reduced temperature dependence of JcJ_c indicates that dominant interaction of vortex cores and pinning centers is via scattering of charge carriers with reduced mean free path (δ\deltall), in contrast to Kx_xFe2y_{2-y}Se2_2 where spatial variations in TcT_{c} (δ\deltaTcT_{c}) prevails.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figure

The adaptation of new technologies and their proper usage in business negotiations is essential for further development of this field. With an analysis of face to face and e-negotiations and by utilizing a combination of research methods such as: experiment, survey and interviewing, this paper proves that the usage of virtual communication tools in business negotiations influences the individual perception of the negotiation process, influences the ethics of the negotiators and the mutual trust, but also demonstrates the need of getting these tools professionally closer to the Macedonian business negotiators that lack sufficient interest for investing in such technologies.\ud Keywords – Business communication, virtual negotiations, traditional negotiations, virtual communication tools

Application of dividend discount model valuation at Macedonian Stock Exchange

Dividend discount model (DDM) is the simplest model for valuing equities in finance. Many analysts belived that DDM is outmoded, but much of the intuition that drives Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) valuation is embedded in the DDM model. There are also specific companies stocks where the DDM model remains a useful tool for estimating value. The basic task of these research is to examine if DDM models offer relevant and safe valuation of long-term securities at Macedonian Stock Exchange (MSE) through the process of empirical valuation of random chosen stocks. This research helped us to identify problems in use of DDM valuation models at MSE, to determine causes for differences between the intrinsic values and the stock market prices and to determine basic parameters for implementation of valuation on Macedonian financial market. We find that DDM models are usefull only as additional tool beside relative and DCF stocks valuation at MSE

Magnetism in La2O3(Fe1-xMnx)2Se2 tuned by Fe/Mn ratio

We report the evolution of structural and magnetic properties in La2O3(Fe1-xMnx)2Se2. Heat capacity and bulk magnetization indicate an increased ferromagnetic component of the long-range magnetic order and possible increased degree of frustration. Atomic disorder on Fe(Mn) sites suppresses the temperature of the long-range order whereas intermediate alloys show a rich magnetic phase diagram.Comment: 7 pages, 7 figure

The SSDC contribution to the improvement of knowledge by means of 3D data projections of minor bodies

    Get PDF
The latest developments of planetary exploration missions devoted to minor bodies required new solutions to correctly visualize and analyse data acquired over irregularly shaped bodies. ASI Space Science Data Center (SSDC-ASI, formerly ASDC-ASI Science Data Center) worked on this task since early 2013, when started developing the web tool MATISSE (Multi-purpose Advanced Tool for the Instruments of the Solar System Exploration) mainly focused on the Rosetta/ESA space mission data. In order to visualize very high-resolution shape models, MATISSE uses a Python module (vtpMaker), which can also be launched as a stand-alone command-line software. MATISSE and vtpMaker are part of the SSDC contribution to the new challenges imposed by the "orbital exploration" of minor bodies: 1) MATISSE allows to search for specific observations inside datasets and then analyse them in parallel, providing high-level outputs; 2) the 3D capabilities of both tools are critical in inferring information otherwise difficult to retrieve for non-spherical targets and, as in the case for the GIADA instrument onboard Rosetta, to visualize data related to the coma. New tasks and features adding valuable capabilities to the minor bodies SSDC tools are planned for the near future thanks to new collaborations

As statistics show, air travel is one of the most prevalent in this society of ours from day to day is increasing its use. Characteristic of air travel and transport is his speed but that speed depends from many factors. Some of these factors are: the speed and capacity of the aircraft, the speed of transport of goods to and from the airport warehouses them to planes, the speed of data processing for passengers and their luggage forwarding to the appropriate place for loading the plane, the speed of system transfer the luggage of a passenger to the appropriate place for loading the plane and the speed of the staff handled it. Hereafter will talk about all these factors which affect to a fast and successful air transport

This study presents new vision how to upgrade business higher education at the Faculty of Economics at University of Tourism and Management in Skopje (UTMS). This paper is result of analyses of best practices of leading higher education institutions as well authors experience in higher education and business education and practice. The UTMS is orientated to introduce best practices and objective standards in order to offer high-quality business education for its students. UTMS has mission for permanent implementation of quality improvement measures as a way to achieve high professional and academic standards and become part of prosperous and respective Universities. In order to achieve this goal, UTMS plan to use additional measures, outcomes assessment as a way to measure institutional effectiveness, as well as effective technique for identifying where changes and improvements are necessary. UTMS has developed Students Learning Outcomes Assessment Plan (SLOAP) as a way to reach this goal. Based on permanent analysis of students needs as well as business sector suggestions about desirable level of knowledge, skills and competence of the students from Faculty of Economics, gained from conducted evaluations, UTMS decide to make additional improvement and development of business education. This process have 4 phases: 1) evaluation of students attitude towards curricula and the instructors efficiency, 2)preparation of the SLOAP (Student Learning Outcomes Assessment Plan) document, 3) implementation of two direct measures from the SLOAP through assessment analysis and action planning, and 4) monitoring changes and improvements made as a result of action planning. The first phase was completed in spring semester 2012, as well as second one with development of Comprehensive Exam and Capstone Course as direct measures. Complete SLOAP also has indirect measures like student satisfaction inventory, course evaluations, alumni, and employers' surveys, and a variety of other student learning outcomes assessments. UTMS plan to use first two direct measures for Student Learning Outcomes Assessment as pilot project, and if it shows success whole process of SLOA can be implemented as permanent methodology for success improvement at UTMS. This process will be also used to develop a strategy for improving the effectiveness and quality of the Faculty of Economics and its programs
