    Effect of quantum lattice fluctuations on the optical-absorption spectra of halogen-bridged mixed-valence transition-metal complexes

    The effect of quantum lattice fluctuations on the optical-absorption spectra in the ground state of halogen-bridged mixed-valence transition-metal linear-chain complexes is studied by using a one-dimensional extended Peierls-Hubbard model. The nonadiabatic effects due to finite phonon frequency ωπ>0\omega_{\pi}>0 are treated through an energy-dependent electron-phonon scattering function δ(k,k)\delta(k^{\prime},k) introduced by means of an unitary transformation. The calculated optical-absorption spectra do not have the inverse-square-root singularity, but they have a peak above the gap edge and there exists a significant tail below the peak, which are consistent with the optical-absorption coefficient or the optical conductivity measurements of this material.Comment: 10 pages, 6 figure

    For the purpose ofcalibration ofthe superconducting gravimeter model TT70 #016 at Syowa Station,Antarctica,we carried out parallel observations with the absolute gravimeter FG5 #203 from December 29, 2000 to January 25, 2001. During the FG5 measurements,the laser stability was sometimes not good and this caused irregular data.We carefully examined the relation between laser stability and gravity values,and took it into account for the removal of abnormal data.We applied linear regression to the selected SG and FG /data set,and obtained the value of -58.168 μGal/V to an accuracy of 0.10% for the scale factor of TT 70 #016.The difference of the obtained scale factor from the previous value of -57.965 μGal/V is about 0.35%

    Rab8a and Rab8b are essential for several apical transport pathways but insufficient for ciliogenesis

    The small GTP-binding protein Rab8 is known to play an essential role in intracellular transport and cilia formation. We have previously demonstrated that Rab8a is required for localising apical markers in various organisms. Rab8a has a closely related isoform, Rab8b. To determine whether Rab8b can compensate for Rab8a, we generated Rab8b-knockout mice. Although the Rab8b-knockout mice did not display an overt phenotype, Rab8a and Rab8b double-knockout mice exhibited mislocalisation of apical markers and died earlier than Rab8a-knockout mice. The apical markers accumulated in three intracellular patterns in the double-knockout mice. However, the localisation of basolateral and/or dendritic markers of the double-knockout mice seemed normal. The morphology and the length of various primary and/or motile cilia, and the frequency of ciliated cells appeared to be identical in control and double-knockout mice. However, an additional knockdown of Rab10 in double-knockout cells greatly reduced the percentage of ciliated cells. Our results highlight the compensatory effect of Rab8a and Rab8b in apical transport, and the complexity of the apical transport process. In addition, neither Rab8a nor Rab8b are required for basolateral and/or dendritic transport. However, simultaneous loss of Rab8a and Rab8b has little effect on ciliogenesis, whereas additional loss of Rab10 greatly affects ciliogenesis

    Firefly bioluminescence is an enzymatic reaction, which requires Mg2+, ATP, and O2. The mechanism of this bioluminescence is as follows; first, the luciferase catalyzes the adenylylation of the luciferin and then the oxygenation of the adenylylated luciferin, which makes an excited state oxyluciferin is generated and yellow-green (560 nm) light is emitted. This high efficiency luminescent system is widely used in the field of life science. At first, I have synthesized firefly luciferin analogs and evaluated bioluminescent property of 7- substituted and π-extended analogs. The π-extended type firefly luciferin analogs emitting blue, green, and red lights were developed. The longest emission maximum was observed at 675 nm (Near infra red, NIR), which belongs to the NIR biological window (650-900 nm), useful for deep site bioimaging of living animals. Next, I and the collaborator have applied NIR luciferin analog to in vivo cancer imaging. The light intensity of NIR emission luciferin analog (λmax= 675 nm) at the living mice imaging experiment had 10 times stronger than natural luciferin. The results indicate that the NIR emission luciferin analog has great potential to detect tumors in deeper sites. But firefly bioluminescence has a problem. The stronger light is required for realization of in vivo supersensitive deep site imaging. And another multi color luciferin analog has only very low light intensity. I have to solve this problem. The solution is that the light emission of the adenylated analogs was strongly enhanced compared with those of analogs themselves. But luciferin adenylate has low stability, so luciferin adenylate was not used imaging experiment as practical use tool. we aspire to create a high intensity and high stability luminescence system: a stable luciferyl- AMP. One has luciferyl-AMP’s structure activity correlation. Many kind of luciferin nucleotide was synthesized and evaluated those light intensity. One of luciferin nucleotide analog that was translated nucleotide structure at the phosphoester bond site has high stability. High stability luciferin nucleotide analog was developed and this technology can be applied to bule and red luciferin analogs.     この論文では、筆者は、真理論の部分とdoxa-論の部分を決定的に分離する解釈には賛成しない。我々の仮定は、パルメニデスはそのeonの概念を現象的世界の原理にまで発展させた、そしてそのための方法が「根源的多義性の方法」と我々が名づけるものであった、ということである。Eon(存在)の概念は二様に理解される、一方はマテリアリスティッシュな理解で宇宙と取り、他方はイデア論的にプラトン的イデアと取る。我々は両方を融合する統一的な道を取る。Eonは、真理、理念的宇宙、光(または火)という異なる意味を内包している。この概念的融合に、我々はパルメニデスの哲学的方法の可能性として、根源的多義性というものを見る。また彼の、思考と存在の一致、と、精神と要素の一致、のアナロジーは、根底からこの根源的多義性を支えている。このようにしてパルメニデスのeon(存在)が宇宙論的・宇宙創生論的内容に移行する、ことをこの論文は明らかにしようとするものである。In this treatise I don\u27t agree to such an interpretation which supposes the decisive separation between the part of Truth and that of Doxa. We suppose that Parmenides developed the concept Eon into the principle of the phenomenal world and that his method for developping was that of original Equivocality. The concept Eon was in two ways conceived by interpreters , first in a materialistic manner as the cosmos,secondly in an idealistic manner as platonic idea. We search for an unified conception which integrates both the interpretations. We find a phase of transition of the concept Eon to the cosmological meaning in the sphere form of Eon and its boundary. (So we stand against the platonic understanding about the sphere form of Eon in the dialogue Sophistes.) The concept Eon comprehends different layers of meaning in itself together - Truth,An idealistic cosmos and Light(or Fire). This concept-fusion means , I think, an original Equivocality as a possible method of Parmenides\u27 philosophy, and Parmenides\u27 analogy between the identity of Thinking-Being and that of Noos-(cosmological)Elements maintains fundamentally this Equivocality. - In such a way Parmenides\u27 concept Eon shifts its phase of meaning from aoriginal content to a cosmological and cosmogonical one and that the meaning shift was made from the point of view of the philosopher himself, but not from that of the goddess
