Deconstructing 2 Bit Architectures Using Pedantry
The deployment of agents has investigated von Neumann machines, and current trends suggest that the emulation of the transistor will soon emerge. In fact, few researchers would disagree with the study of cache coherence, which embodies the natural principles of artificial intelligence. Pedantry, our new system for Scheme, is the solution to all of these obstacles
Axial form factor of the nucleon in the perturbative chiral quark model
We apply the perturbative chiral quark model (PCQM) at one loop to analyze
the axial form factor of the nucleon. This chiral quark model is based on an
effective Lagrangian, where baryons are described by relativistic valence
quarks and a perturbative cloud of Goldstone bosons as dictated by chiral
symmetry. We apply the formalism to obtain analytical expressions for the axial
form factor of the nucleon, which is given in terms of fundamental parameters
of low-energy pion-nucleon physics (weak pion decay constant, strong
pion-nucleon form factor) and of only one model parameter (radius of the
nucleonic three-quark core).Comment: 23 pages, 5 figures, accepted for publication in J. Phys.
Towards standardized definitions for monitoring the continuum of HIV care in Europe
International audienceThe continuum of HIV care is a simple conceptual framework for monitoring HIV programmes, comprising a series of stages that people living with HIV (PLHIV) pass through to access antiretroviral treatment (ART) and achieve viral suppression [1,2]. Individual benefits of suppression include reduced risk of morbidity and mortality. At the population level, viral suppression reduces the risk of onward transmission and enables epidemic containment [3]. Transmission risk may be further reduced by lowering the number of undiagnosed PLHIV [4,5]. Complete continua are, therefore, constructed beginning with the total number of PLHIV in a given population and ending with the number virally suppressed. Intervening stages have included the numbers diagnosed, linked to HIV care, retained in care, eligible for ART, on ART and adhering to ART. Although people can move between stages, the continuum is typically conceptualized as a ‘snapshot’ at one time-point

The neutron electric dipole form factor in the perturbative chiral quark model
We calculate the electric dipole form factor of the neutron in a perturbative
chiral quark model, parameterizing CP-violation of generic origin by means of
effective electric dipole moments of the constituent quarks and their
CP-violating couplings to the chiral fields. We discuss the relation of these
effective parameters to more fundamental ones such as the intrinsic electric
and chromoelectric dipole moments of quarks and the Weinberg parameter. From
the existing experimental upper limits on the neutron EDM we derive constraints
on these CP-violating parameters.Comment: 20 pages, 3 figure
Directed Ising type dynamic preroughening transition in one dimensional interfaces
We present a realization of directed Ising (DI) type dynamic absorbing state
phase transitions in the context of one-dimensional interfaces, such as the
relaxation of a step on a vicinal surface. Under the restriction that particle
deposition and evaporation can only take place near existing kinks, the
interface relaxes into one of three steady states: rough, perfectly ordered
flat (OF) without kinks, or disordered flat (DOF) with randomly placed kinks
but in perfect up-down alternating order. A DI type dynamic preroughening
transition takes place between the OF and DOF phases. At this critical point
the asymptotic time evolution is controlled not only by the DI exponents but
also by the initial condition. Information about the correlations in the
initial state persists and changes the critical exponents.Comment: 12 pages, 10 figure
Massive stereo-based DTM production for Mars on cloud computers
Digital Terrain Model (DTM) creation is essential to improving our understanding of the formation processes of the Martian surface. Although there have been previous demonstrations of open-source or commercial planetary 3D reconstruction software, planetary scientists are still struggling with creating good quality DTMs that meet their science needs, especially when there is a requirement to produce a large number of high quality DTMs using "free" software. In this paper, we describe a new open source system to overcome many of these obstacles by demonstrating results in the context of issues found from experience with several planetary DTM pipelines. We introduce a new fully automated multi-resolution DTM processing chain for NASA Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) Context Camera (CTX) and High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRISE) stereo processing, called the Co-registration Ames Stereo Pipeline (ASP) Gotcha Optimised (CASP-GO), based on the open source NASA ASP. CASP-GO employs tie-point based multi-resolution image co-registration, and Gotcha sub-pixel refinement and densification. CASP-GO pipeline is used to produce planet-wide CTX and HiRISE DTMs that guarantee global geo-referencing compliance with respect to High Resolution Stereo Colour imaging (HRSC), and thence to the Mars Orbiter Laser Altimeter (MOLA); providing refined stereo matching completeness and accuracy. All software and good quality products introduced in this paper are being made open-source to the planetary science community through collaboration with NASA Ames, United States Geological Survey (USGS) and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), Advanced Multi-Mission Operations System (AMMOS) Planetary Data System (PDS) Pipeline Service (APPS-PDS4), as well as browseable and visualisable through the iMars web based Geographic Information System (webGIS) system
Nucleon polarizabilities in the perturbative chiral quark model
The nucleon polarizabilities alpha(E) and beta(M) are studied in the context
of the perturbative chiral quark model. We demonstrate that meson cloud effects
are sufficient to explain the electric polarizability of nucleon. Contributions
of excite quark states to the paramagnetic polarizability are dominant and
cancel the diamagnetic polarizability arising from the chiral field. The
obtained results are compared to data and other theoretical predictions.Comment: 25 pages, 18 figures, 2 table
Strong CP violation and the neutron electric dipole form factor
We calculate the neutron electric dipole form factor induced by the CP
violating theta-term of QCD, within a perturbative chiral quark model which
includes pion and kaon clouds. On this basis we derive the neutron electric
dipole moment and the electron-neutron Schiff moment. From the existing
experimental upper limits on the neutron electric dipole moment we extract
constraints on the theta-parameter and compare our results with other
approaches.Comment: 18 pages, 2 figures, accepted for publication in Phys. Atom. Nuc
