    CYBERSUSY: A new mechanism for supersymmetry breaking in models like the supersymmetric standard model (SSM)

    The SUSY breaking in Cybersusy is proportional to the VEV that breaks the gauge symmetry SU(2) X U(1) down to U(1), and it is rather specific to models like the SSM. Assuming full breaking, as explained below, for the leptons, Cybersusy predicts a spectrum of SUSY breaking that is in accord with experimental results so far. In particular, for the choice of parameters below, Cybersusy predicts that the lowest mass superpartner for the charged leptons is a charged vector boson lepton (the Velectron), which has a mass of 316 Gev . The Selectron has a mass of 771 Gev for that choice of parameters. The theory also leads to a zero cosmological constant after SUSY breaking. The mechanism generates equations that restrict models like the SSM.     Bipolar transistors fabricated in separate buried layers of an integrated circuit chip are electrically isolated with a built-in potential barrier established by doping the buried layer with a polarity opposite doping in the chip substrate. To increase the resistance of the bipolar transistors to single-event upsets due to ionized particle radiation, the substrate is biased relative to the buried layer with an external bias voltage selected to offset the built-in potential just enough (typically between about +0.1 to +0.2 volt) to prevent an accumulation of charge in the buried-layer-substrate junction

    Middle Level Education Aims for Equity and Inclusion, but Do Our School Websites Meet ADA Compliance?

    An often-overlooked component of a middle school website is the necessity for that website to be accessible to those with disabilities, while following the guidelines of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508 of the Workforce Rehabilitation Act. In support of the belief that support the belief that inclusive education and respect for diversity should be integrated throughout the school, this study investigated the accessibility of middle school websites in Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio by selecting a random sample of 150 schools and analyzing their homepages using WAVE (Web Accessibility Versatile Evaluator), which reports accessibility violations by annotating a copy of the page that was evaluated and presenting embedded icons and indicators to disclose breaches with ADA. Out of 150 districts, 54% had errors that need immediate attention and all 150 schools had alerts of likely violations that ranged from alt-text omissions and empty or confusing links to issues with color contrast and keyboard-only navigation. The article proceeds to give practical suggestions for eliminating many of the errors, even for those shareholders with less than sophisticated technological expertise

Many observers have viewed the case as a splendid opportunity for the Supreme Court to re-establish private owner autonomy in land use decisions - to cut down, perhaps drastically, on elected legislatures\u27 traditional power to protect the environment by regulating uses of land. Behind the property rights debate is the question of whether states and communities really ought to have the power that they have traditionally had to control the development and patterns of growth within their bounds

    Labour market disadvantage amongst disabled people: a longitudinal perspective

    Considerable cross-sectional evidence has highlighted the lower employment rates and earnings amongst disabled people in Britain. But very little is known about the progression of disabled people in employment. This study uses data from the Labour Force Survey (LFS) to examine the labour market progression of disabled people in Britain along several dimensions: earnings growth, low-pay transition probabilities, changes in labour market participation, the rate of training and the rate of upward occupational mobility. The analysis also explores the extent of heterogeneity in the labour market progression of disabled people with respect to differences in age, education, occupation and disability severity. The evidence indicates that the earnings trajectories of disabled people lag behind those for non-disabled people, especially for men. The median annual change in earnings is 1.4 percent lower for disabled men and 0.6 percent lower for disabled women compared to non-disabled men and women respectively. Moreover, disabled people are approximately three times more likely to exit work than their non-disabled counterparts, a difference that increases markedly for more-severely disabled people. The evidence highlights the need for policy to tackle the barriers that disabled people face in the workplace, not merely in access to jobs
