Convergence of European financial system: Single financial space?

This paper tests the extent to which convergence has been occurring between EU member states in the sources of funding for investment by non-financial corporations. The evidence from time series on 9 EU member countries during 1971-1996 suggests that bank lending (credit) remains the most important source of external financing, although internal financing is increasing in importance. There is also evidence of convergence amongst the financial systems of the 9 EU member countries, for which data were readily available, and a shift from bank financing to direct financing in response to the financial liberalisation in the 1980's (securitisation). These findings suggest an evolving single financial space in Europe.

Persistence Bag-of-Words for Topological Data Analysis

Persistent homology (PH) is a rigorous mathematical theory that provides a robust descriptor of data in the form of persistence diagrams (PDs). PDs exhibit, however, complex structure and are difficult to integrate in today's machine learning workflows. This paper introduces persistence bag-of-words: a novel and stable vectorized representation of PDs that enables the seamless integration with machine learning. HUBUNGAN ANTARA RESILIENSI DENGAN WORK ENGAGEMENT PADA KARYAWAN BANK PANIN CABANG MENARA IMPERIUM KUNINGAN JAKARTA

ABSTRAK Pertumbuhan dalam skala domestik dan global mengalami pertumbuhan pesat sehingga diperlukan sumber daya manusia dengan kinerja yang baik. Salah satu konstruk yang berkontribusi pada kinerja karyawan adalah work engagement. Work engagement adalah keadaan positif dan memenuhi diri, keadaan pikiran yang berkaitan dengan pekerjaan dikarakteristikkan dengan adanya energi tinggi, pengabdian dan penghayatan. Resiliensi adalah kemampuan bertahan atau mengatasi kesulitan dari persitiwa tidak menyenangkan dan berhasil beradaptasi dengan perubahan dan ketidakpastian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan hubungan antara resiliensi dengan work engagement pada karyawan Bank Panin Imperium Kuningan Jakarta. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 50 karyawan Bank Panin Imperium Kuningan Jakarta yang diambil menggunakan teknik convenience sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan Skala Work Engagement (31 aitem, α= 0.95) dan Skala Resiliensi (22 aitem, α= 0.89). Analisis data penelitian menggunakan analisis regresi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif dan signifikan antara resiliensi dengan work engagement (r= 0.73, p < 0.001). Sumbangan resiliensi terhadap work engagement sebesar 54.5%. Kesimpulan penelitian adanya hubungan positif dan signifikan antara resiliensi dengan work engagement. Semakin tinggi resiliensi karyawan maka semakin tinggi work engagement-nya. El Taller de Pintura, Una experiencia compartida

En este artículo se presentan algunos fundamentos, estrategias y resultados de las experiencias realizadas en el taller, llevadas a cabo durante el año 2013 en la cátedra de Pintura III, comisión “B”, de la Escuela de Bellas Artes de la Universidad Nacional de Rosario. Se plantearon como objetivos la adquisición de competencias, la experimentación y la formación en las problemáticas de la pintura contemporánea desde la teoría y, fundamentalmente, desde la práctica. Este campo disciplinar se encuentra en una permanente redefinición de sus prácticas artísticas, relacionadas con la expansión de los límites artísticos interdisciplinares. We present an efficient software package for computing homology of sets, maps and filtrations represented as cubical, simplicial and regular CW complexes. The core homology computation is based on classical Smith diagonalization, but the efficiency of our approach comes from applying several geometric and algebraic reduction techniques combined with smart implementation

Dominance Over N

Abstract.This paper provides an overview of the b-dominance order over the natural numbers, N, using the base b expansion of natural numbers. The b-dominance order is an accessible partially-ordered set that is less complex than the divisor relation but more complex than ≤; thus, it supplies a good medium through which an undergraduate can be exposed to the subject of order theory. Here we discuss many ideas in order theory, including the Poincaré polynomial and the Möbius function. Acknowledgements: The authors thank the M.J.
