The cashew nuts production in Southeast Sulawesi has been showed the indicated todecreasing productivity and production fluctuation for ten years between 1995 until 2004. Thecashew farming in Southeast Sulawesi especially in Muna district such as center productionshowed the low income on household farmers. The review of this paper showed the actualcondition with the cashew farmers in their villages in Muna district that there were manyfactors determinants, i.e. the availability capital, input production, cashew trees condition, land condition, technology, managerial, market institutions, farming instructors and financialinstitution. This paper has the objectives main to improving the cashew farmer\u27s conditionneeded to increase their income on household farmers. The strategy for improving the abovecondition i.e. integration farming system between animals and crops especially in their fieldof cashew trees, past harvesting, quality, and market and pattern crops for the landoptimization after the rehabilitation cashew trees. The five above condition is the crucialdeterminants as the good strategy hope to improving their condition especially to increase theproductivity and farmers income on household farmin

The benefits of transgenic cotton continue to be disputed, despite rapid and widespread adoption since their commercial introduction in the United States in 1995 and first planted in 1996. Since the first debut on U.S cotton farms, biotech cotton rising growing area which mostly derived from the yield gain and increasing farmers income. There is a general belief that the development of cotton biotechnology will be a major factor in boosting productivity in agriculture around the world. This study aim to provide an overview of the current state of knowledge the performance of this technology worldwide based on a wide range of data and source from available literature. To this end, we investigated the benefits of implementing Genetically Modified Cotton in developing countries particularly in China and India as the systematic review which captured to provide the evidence of potential benefits of cotton biotechnology. In summary, this paper depicts positive impact of commercialized this technology in terms of net revenue and the benefits, especially in terms of increased yield, are greatets for the mostly farmers in China and India who have benefitted from the spill over of technology targeted at the farmers in developed countries

Maize is the essential crop in Southeast Sulawesi and also as the primary income resource for the smallholder farmers. This research was conducted in Amesiu Village, Pondidaha Sub District, of Konawe District. This study has employed descriptive method for supply chain, Hayami method for value added analysis and SWOT analysis. Study results show that maize boiled business is the highest value added and the lowest value added is the maize farmer (IDR303.900,00/kg and IDR9.900/kg respectively). Meanwhile, the middle men have value added about IDR235.960,00/kg. Margin analysis shows that the business men of boiled maize have the highest margin (IDR323.898,00/kg), the lowest margin is the maize farmer (IDR36.200,00/kg), meanwhile the middle men has margin value about IDR240.960/kg). SWOT analysis shows the strategy that should be implemented by the business men of boiled maize is to support aggressively growth policy (growth oriented strategy). This strategy is more focusing to SO strategy (Strength-Opportunity) by using power to implement the opportunity

Rising the area of growing Genetically Modified (GM) cotton mostly derived from the yield gain and income gain both GM cotton and conventional cotton is affected by seed cost, pesticide cost, management and labor cost. Therefore, planting GM cotton should be considering both agronomy aspect in yield gain and economic dimension in income gain. Those aspects are not only for GM cotton but also for conventional cotton. This paper is a meta-analysis as a synthesis of current research by searching literature both peer-reviewed and non peer-reviewed. A meta-analysis depicted that individual study mostly favor GM cotton in yield gain, seed cost and pesticide cost. However, in terms of pesticide cost a meta-analysis prone to favor non GM cotton. Moreover, a meta-analysis revealed that the positive impact in the differences of GM cotton and conventional cotton as the evidence of the publication is highly significant. Key Words : Genetically Modified, Cotton, Conventional, Yield, Income, Gain, Meta-Analysi

Cocoa beans have been existed in Indonesia particularly for smallholder farmers as the cash crop of household in the rural area. Todays its productivity is going down due to the aging cocoa three, pest and diseases. Introducing technology into the farmers group as the alternative way for income diversification based on the cocoa commodity. This study was conducted in East Kolaka District of Southeast Sulawesi Province. Purposive sampling technique was used to select four sub districts of Aere, Ladongi, Lambandia and Tinondo. In each sub district, we chose two sample villages by purposive sampling based on the number of cocoa growers per village and selected 15 farmers respectively based on the random technique due to the homogeneity of the population. In total, we selected eight villages as our sample villages with a total sample size of 120 households. Five components of technology has been introduced, viz. Introducing utilization of cocoa shell for bio-char, utilization of cow dung as organic fertilizer, making cocoa powder for instant beverage, utilization of cocoa shell as the alternative feed cow, and utilization of cow dung as Bio-Gas. This study results show that most farmers have a good and positive response by following or implementing recommended technology. The results of open interviews with farmers at the study site show that the technology introduced is technically feasible based on indicators of easiness of technology application (uncomplicated), easily access to technology, available of supporting materials and inexpensive, easily labor used, and easily in supporting facilities and infrastructure. A good response of farmers indicated that introduced technology has been implemented and adopted by farmers. Moreover, these technology have been implemented which economically feasible, technically easy, culturally done by farmers and environmental friendly

Independent oil palm smallholders in Indonesia contributed significantly to the sustainable of Crude Palm Oil (CPO) supply chain. On the other hand, sustainability in the process of implementing the supply chain system for independent smallholders is an issue that is extremely important for the success of the supply chain system for the CPO company. This study’s objective is to develop an alternative business model with the goal of strengthening the interaction that already exists between independent farmers and cooperatives in ensuring the existence of a supply chain for raw materials and having access to financial resources, knowledge, and technology. The selection of the research location considered several factors, including the size of the area’s oil palm plantations, the number of oil palm farmers who are self-sufficient, and the possibility of locating CPO plant. Study findings that, the new model by business canvas analysis as the upgraded model of existing model business recommended that it should be built based on the cooperative palm oil family which provides farmers with access to financial, replanting, intensification, and extensification and infrastructure by APKASINDO, BPDPKS, Bank, and other stakeholders to sustain the FFB supply chain in cooperation through a partnership program in a long-term scheme. This whole system was developed by corporate farming system based on the cooperative as the off taker of FFB farmers and develop mini plant CPO to produce cooking oil and biofuels and by product as the waste management system as the value added for farmers

Goat farming system has long been carried out by farmers in Indonesia, is the essential farm for smallholder farmers, especially in rural areas as the cash money for income generation. However, farmers have been facing reproductive inefficiency and low meat productivity. Therefore, Artificial Insemination technology has been implemented for genetic improvement of goats in order to increase the sale value of livestock, increasing livestock productivity, and to accelerate genetic gain in local goat. This study was conducted to find the performance of the implementation of AI technology using Boer frozen semen. This study was carried out in Bina Marwa Village and Mata Up Village Andoolo Sub District, South Konawe District of Southeast Sulawesi Province in 2018. Study findings show that the farmer assessment of implementing AI technological innovation based on these innovations in terms of profits, compatibility, easily implementing, triability, and observability indicated a good percentage (59.87%), quite good (11.87%) and not good (28.26%). In addition, this technology has been deployed across the village and rapidly adopted among the farmers due to the low-cost of introducing AI technology, and the better physical appearance of genetic improvement (100%), respectively. Another driving factor was favorable AI technology (80%) and that is easily applied (60%).</jats:p
