This topic is represented by a wide range of multi-vector research, both fundamental and applied. Fundamental research is aimed at revealing the theoretical provisions and features of the process of professional self-development, at the same time, applied provisions provide specific practical tools that help a person realize their inner potential.     Influence of High-Tech Society on the Development of Modern Educational System

    The authors consider such issues as (1) forming a valid educational system in a high-tech world; (2) forming the principles upon which it should be built; (3) considering the primary subjects of interaction with high-tech educational system; (4) imposing the effective methods, tools, development technologies, and self-development techniques of subjects in the context of the educational system; (5) defining what is possible to entrust to machines in a digital educational system, in comparison with humans; (6) evaluating the digital skills education efficiency; (7) defining methods that provide the efficiency of educational influence. The primary method of the research is the analysis and generalization of the national and foreign scholarly works in terms of what are the features of the evolution of the educational system in a modern high-tech society. The authors conclude that the key tendency in the development of educational technologies consists in the need to expand the existing formats of educational courses for the development of digital skills with technologies that use mobile learning and artificial intelligence programs

    Educational Characteristics of Learner Autonomy

    According to many scholars, learner autonomy is a direction in higher professional education, which contributes to the formation of students’ independence as the primary personality trait that helps build their educational process without outside interference. The research goal was to identify the characteristics of the concepts of “independence,” “learner autonomy,” and “autonomous educational activity,” and their relationship to each other. We obtained the following results: independence is a personality trait, which is formed in the process of carrying out activities with a gradual transition from external management to selfmanagement. Learner autonomy is the highest level of a person’s independence, manifested in the readiness to create their educational product. From our point of view, autonomous educational activity is a technology of formation of readiness for further continuous professional education based on the obtained skills of independent goal setting and ways of achieving it. The study allowed us to more accurately define these concepts, which contributes to the scholarly literature and the possibility of further research on learner autonomy

    CH₄ concentrations over the Amazon from GOSAT consistent with in situ vertical profile data

    The Amazon Basin contains large wetland ecosystems which are important sources of methane (CH4). Spaceborne observations of atmospheric CH4 can provide constraints on emissions from these remote ecosystems, but lack of validation precludes robust estimates. We present the first validation of CH4 columns in the Amazon from the Greenhouse gases Observing SATellite (GOSAT) using aircraft measurements of CH4 over five sites across the Amazon Basin. These aircraft profiles, combined with stratospheric results from the TOMCAT chemical transport model, are vertically integrated allowing direct comparison to the GOSAT XCH4 measurements (the column-averaged dry air mole fraction of CH4). The measurements agree within uncertainties or show no significant difference at three of the aircraft sites, with differences ranging from −1.9 ppb to 6.6 ppb, while at two sites GOSAT XCH4 is shown to be slightly higher than aircraft measurements, by 8.1 ppb and 9.7 ppb. The seasonality in XCH4 seen by the aircraft profiles is also well captured (correlation coefficients from 0.61 to 0.90). GOSAT observes elevated concentrations in the northwest corner of South America in the dry season and enhanced concentrations elsewhere in the Amazon Basin in the wet season, with the strongest seasonal differences coinciding with regions in Bolivia known to contain large wetlands. Our results are encouraging evidence that these GOSAT CH4 columns are generally in good agreement with in situ measurements, and understanding the magnitude of any remaining biases between the two will allow more confidence in the application of XCH4 to constrain Amazonian CH4 fluxes

    Quality Problems in Vocational Tourism Education

    We consider the quality of vocational tourism education in terms of world trends of tourism industry development. We identify and describe the quality problems of vocational tourism education in detail from interested focus groups using empirical and theoretical methods. We also note that there is insufficient attention to the development and improvement of vocational tourism education in the world by UNESCO, a low level of scientific research in terms of assessment, and the absence of quality monitoring mechanisms of vocational tourism education level. We analyze the definition of “sustainable tourism” to ensure the quality of the tourism experience in three aspects: environmental, socio-cultural, and economic. As a result, we formulated the definition of vocational tourism education, considering modern business approaches to quality assessment. Besides, we offer innovative ways of partnership and cooperation in providing quality training for the tourism and hospitality industry at the international and national levels

    The article examines the contradiction between the transformation of information technology into an integral part of contemporary educational activities and the threat of reducing the quality of the educational process and dehumanizing the individual, resulting from the implementation of digital educational technologies. The need for distance work and remote communication is particularly evident in the situation of the pandemic, which requires, on the one hand, restricting direct interpersonal contacts to prevent the spread of infection, and on the other hand – continuing labor activity to prevent an economic downturn. The disadvantages of the distance framework in the educational process concern a decrease in discipline among students, a deterioration in the quality of learning of educational material, economic inaccessibility for low-income families, insufficient coverage of territories with cellular communication, as well as housing conditions that do not allow organizing remote work and training. These shortcomings become a threat to increasing social stratification due to the impossibility of general access to even basic education. The essence of the protests against distance learning shows that the problems are seen not only in the lack of organization of the learning process but also in the very fact of abandoning the traditional learning model. One of the factors of such a threat is the absolutization of the role of information technology in the learning process, which leads to a deterioration in the level of education. To resolve this contradiction, the authors propose to consider the role of humanitarian knowledge as a meaningful aspect of the educational process
