Comparative Performance Evaluation of MAC Scheduling Algorithms for QoS Support in P-M-P Wireless Network

The Quality of Service (QoS) provided for different types of multimedia applications such as audio, video, etc. The IEEE 802.16 standard defines different service classes with their associated (QoS) parameters. The MAC scheduling algorithm is the main role performing in QoS provisioning over such broadband wireless access (BWA) network and it is important that the scheduling algorithm have a multi-dimensional objective of satisfying QoS requirements of the users, maximizing system utilization and ensuring fairness among users. In this paper, we present comparative analysis for different types of MAC scheduling algorithms for the uplink (UL) connection. The proposed scheduling algorithms are compared to several other MAC scheduling algorithms for UL traffic under different mixes of traffic and for various characteristics of the IEEE 802.16 MAC layer such as throughput & delay. Simulation results indicate that MAC scheduling algorithms are not suitable for the multi-class traffic in IEEE 802.16 since they do not explicitly incorporate the QoS parameters for the given standard

Nominal Construction and Maintenance of Highway Roads by using FBF (Fly Ash-bc Soil-Foam) Method

Roads play a significant part in the development of nation. They are life saver giving a smooth stream of man and materials. With the expanding of populace and the lessening of accessible land, road developments and other structural building structures must be done on weak or delicate soil. Inferable from such soil of weak shear quality and high swelling and shrinkage, an extraordinary decent variety of ground change methods, for example, soil adjustment and reinforcement are utilized to enhance mechanical conduct of soil, in this way improving the dependability of development. This article covers roadway development in Black cotton soils (BC soils) and furthermore depicts a case history of interstate development in thruway development in Black cotton soils. The reason for this investigation is to decide the ideal dosage of the stabilizer, which enhances the quality which is appropriate for pavement structure. The outcome demonstrates that the utilization of sand in mix builds the California Bearing Ratio values(CBR)

AIM: To evaluate the association of Body Mass Index, Oral Hygiene and Dietary Factors with Early Childhood Caries and Severe Early Childhood Caries MATERIAL & METHODS: 200 children aged 3-6 years diagnosed with Early Childhood Caries and Severe Early Childhood Caries reporting to the Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry were selected. Height and weight measurements were recorded for all the children who participated in the study. Body Mass Index was calculated and children were divided in four categories – Underweight, Healthy, Overweight, Obese. Oral hygiene associated factors and dietary factors were assessed by a questionnaire. Oral hygiene associated factors and dietary factors of both Early Childhood Caries and Severe Early Childhood Caries children were compared statistically. RESULTS: Linear regression analysis was used to analyze the co-relation of body mass index, dietary factors, oral hygiene factors with early childhood caries and severe early childhood caries. The test revealed statistically significant difference between the groups. CONCLUSION: Early Childhood Caries (ECC), Severe Early Childhood Caries (SECC) and all categories of Body Mass Index share common contributing factors including dietary and oral hygiene

    A Review on Antiphishing Framework

Phishing is an attack that deals with social engineering system to illegally get and utilize another person's information for the benefit of authentic site for possess advantage (e.g. Take of client's secret word and Visa precise elements during online correspondence). It is influencing all the significant areas of industry step by step with a considerable measure of abuse of client qualifications. To secure clients against phishing, different hostile to phishing procedures have been suggested that takes after various methodologies like customer side and server side insurance. In this paper we have considered phishing in detail (counting assault process and grouping of phishing assault) and investigated a portion of the current sites to phishing strategies alongside their points of interest and disadvantages

Novel methods to quantify aleatory and epistemic uncertainty in high speed networks

2017 Summer.Includes bibliographical references. With the sustained miniaturization of integrated circuits to sub-45 nm regime and the increasing packaging density, random process variations have been found to result in unpredictability in circuit performance. In existing literature, this unpredictability has been modeled by creating polynomial expansions of random variables. But the existing methods prove inefficient because as the number of random variables within a system increase, the time and computational cost increases in a near-polynomial fashion. In order to mitigate this poor scalability of conventional approaches, several techniques are presented, in this dissertation, to sparsify the polynomial expansion. The sparser polynomial expansion is created, by identifying the contribution of each random variable on the total response of the system. This sparsification is performed primarily using two different methods. It translates to immense savings, in the time required, and the memory cost of computing the expansion. One of the two methods presented is applied to aleatory variability problems while the second method is applied to problems involving epistemic uncertainty. The accuracy of the proposed approaches is validated through multiple numerical examples
