Peaaju difuussete astrotsütaarsete glioomide loomupärane invasiivsus
Inimese astrotsütaarsetele glioomidele iseomane invasiivne käitumine on üheks peamiseks probleemiks neuroonkoloogias. Astrotsütoomirakkude migratsioon on aluseks nende kasvajate ulatuslikule levikule närvisüsteemis, mis raskendab oluliselt kasvaja piiride kindlaksmääramist diagnostikas ning viib sageli kirurgilisele ja adjuvantravile vaatamata kasvajahaiguse retsidiveerumisele. Invasioonimehhanismide mõistmine on oluliseks ja ehk ka peamiseks eelduseks leidmaks potentsiaalseid ravistrateegilisi ründepunkte astrotsütaarse rea kasvajate efektiivseks käsitlemiseks lähitulevikus.

Wernicke entsefalopaatia – unustatud vana
Artiklis on selgitatud Wernicke entsefalopaatia (WE) põhjuseid, diagnoosiks vajalikke kriteeriu meid ja ravivõimalusi. WE diagnoosimine põhineb kliinilise leiu klassikalisel triaadil: tasakaalu- ja koordinatsioonihäired, silmaliigutajalihaste halvatus ning segasus seisund. Kõige sagedamini esineb WE kroonilise alkoholismi foonil. Ägeda kulu korral, kiiresti areneva teadvushäirega haigetel on oluline magnetresonantstomograafia, kus on nähtav tüüpiline T2-signaali intensiivsuse suurenemine III vatsakese ümbruses ja talamuse piirkonnas. Näidetena esitatud haigusjuhud on Tartu Ülikooli Kliinikumi praktikast 2005. aastal.

Edge Detection with Sub-pixel Accuracy Based on Approximation of Edge with Erf Function
Edge detection is an often used procedure in digital image processing. For some practical applications is desirable to detect edges with sub-pixel accuracy. In this paper we present edge detection method for 1-D images based on approximation of real image function with Erf function. This method is verified by simulations and experiments for various numbers of samples of simulated and real images. Results of simulations and experiments are also used to compare proposed edge detection scheme with two often used moment-based edge detectors with sub-pixel precision
A choice of the optimum cutting ranges for cutting nozzles a-sd for selection of metallurgical material.
On the market there are plenty of machines for cutting of steel via a mixture of oxygen and flammable gases. Various manufacturers provide several types of torches, cutting nozzles and other equipment in their product range. Cutting nozzles are a component that significantly affects quality of cutting based in set parameters. However, data from catalogues and manuals by manufacturers on cutting parameters of nozzles are rarely in use in real conditions. That is why optimum cutting conditions for cutting via nozzles A-SD made by RHONA were tested and the final results were compared with those in the catalogue for a proper use in practice.Web of Science12311310
Performance evaluation considering iterations per phase and SA temperature in WMN-SA system
One of the key advantages of Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) is their importance for providing cost-efficient broadband connectivity. There are issues for achieving the network connectivity and user coverage, which are related with the node placement problem. In this work, we consider Simulated Annealing Algorithm (SA) temperature and Iteration per phase for the router node placement problem in WMNs. We want to find the optimal distribution of router nodes in order to provide the best network connectivity and provide the best coverage in a set of Normal distributed clients. From simulation results, we found how to optimize both the size of Giant Component and number of covered mesh clients. When the number of iterations per phase is big, the performance is better in WMN-SA System. From for SA temperature, when SA temperature is 0 and 1, the performance is almost same. When SA temperature is 2 and 3 or more, the performance decrease because there are many kick ups.Peer ReviewedPostprint (published version
Entrepreneurship as a potential driving force for the further development of rural areas
Entrepreneurial human capital and entrepreneurship are crucial elements for the further develop

ristics of successful companies in local economies. The main aim of this paper is to demonstrate through the
introduction of the activity, everyday practice and production procedure how non-agricultural and non-tourism
enterprises can foster the development of rural and peripheral areas in the Visegrad countries. Nine local enter

prises of different size, profile and development pathway were examined in order to highlight main experiences
and lessons being vital for and adaptable in other disadvantaged areas. The results and company descriptions

Experimental evaluation of a MANET testbed in indoor stairs scenarios
In recent years, Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs) are continuing to attract the attention for their potential use in several fields. Mobility and the absence of any fixed infrastructure make MANETs very attractive for mobility and rescue operations and time-critical applications. In this paper, we present the implementation and analysis of our implemented MANET testbed considering the Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR) protocol. We consider two models. One when all the nodes are static and another one when one node is moving. The mobile node moves toward the destination at a regular speed and when arrives at the corner of stairs is stops for about three seconds. In this work, we assess the performance of our MANET testbed in terms of throughput and packet loss. From our experiments, we found that the OLSR protocol has a good performance when nodes are in stationary state. However, when the node moves the throughput is decreased. We observed that the number of packet loss increases after 2-hops for static model and after 1-hop for moving model. But, when the node is moving, the packet loss for 2-hops to 4-hops is almost the same.Peer ReviewedPostprint (published version
