Tiga pendekatan terhadap Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan, yaitu pemahaman tentang struktur pemerintahan, pengem-bangan nilai-nilai dan sikap siswa, serta penguasaan ketrampilan yang diperlukan sebagai warga negara, menghendaki agar siswa mampu untuk berdebat, menilai, menganalisis, aktif mengemukakan opini sendiri, kemampuan negosiasi, membaca secara kritis, dan ketrampilan-ketrampilan yang diperlukan sebagi warga negara yang hidup di alam demokrasi. Kemampuan seperti ini sama dengan bentuk-bentuk kemampuan yang dikehendaki dalam penguasaan bahasa secara formal atau CALP (Cognitive Academic Language Proficiency). Sheltered Content Approach, yaitu melaksanakan pengajaran bahasa berdasarkan materi pelajaran tertentu, merupakan salah satu alternatif dalam penguasaan CALP. MUSTANG 3.3 Millimeter Continuum Observations of Class 0 Protostars
We present observations of six Class 0 protostars at 3.3 mm (90 GHz) using
the 64-pixel MUSTANG bolometer camera on the 100-m Green Bank Telescope. The
3.3 mm photometry is analyzed along with shorter wavelength observations to
derive spectral indices (S_nu ~ nu^alpha) of the measured emission. We utilize
previously published dust continuum radiative transfer models to estimate the
characteristic dust temperature within the central beam of our observations. We
present constraints on the millimeter dust opacity index, beta, between 0.862
mm, 1.25 mm, and 3.3 mm. Beta_mm typically ranges from 1.0 to 2.4 for Class 0
sources. The relative contributions from disk emission and envelope emission
are estimated at 3.3 mm. L483 is found to have negligible disk emission at 3.3
mm while L1527 is dominated by disk emission within the central beam. The
beta_mm^disk <= 0.8 - 1.4 for L1527 indicates that grain growth is likely
occurring in the disk. The photometry presented in this paper may be combined

Supporting Parents of Young Children in the Child Welfare System
Consistent, responsive, and nurturing early relationships foster emotional well-being in young children, as well as create the foundation for the behavioral, social, and cognitive development essential for school readiness. Developmental research tells us that parents are one of the most important influences on children with high quality parenting essential for healthy child development. Thus, preventing behavior problems in young children requires family-oriented, evidence-informed strategies that address the needs of both parents and their children. This report explores the challenges and opportunities of improving mandated parent training for parents of young children in the child welfare system. Drawing on lessons from research and practice, it calls on states, courts and communities to use more intentional, cost effective, and strategic approaches to required parent training. The report is based on Improving Parenting Outcomes for Children in the Child Welfare System: an emerging issues roundtable that the National Center for Children in Poverty conducted in July 2007 in New York. The forum brought together leaders in child welfare, policymakers, philanthropists, researchers and those with practice expertise to explore the best means to ensure effective parenting training and to consider action steps to help this high risk population. (See Appendix I for a list of participants.) While parent education is only one component of a comprehensive service plan to help parents better parent, it is a point of potential leverage to improve the child welfare system by providing more effective prevention services, such as parenting education, and spending scarce resources more efficiently. This report explores the research, proposes criteria for effective programs, and discusses strategies that can be used at the local, state and national levels to change policy and practice

The Radio - 2 mm Spectral Index of the Crab Nebula Measured with GISMO
We present results of 2 mm observations of the Crab Nebula, obtained using
the Goddard-IRAM Superconducting 2 Millimeter Observer (GISMO) bolometer camera
on the IRAM 30 m telescope. Additional 3.3 mm observations with the MUSTANG
bolometer array on the Green Bank Telescope are also presented. The integrated
2 mm flux density of the Crab Nebula provides no evidence for the emergence of
a second synchrotron component that has been proposed. It is consistent with
the radio power law spectrum, extrapolated up to a break frequency of
log(nu_{b} [GHz]) = 2.84 +/- 0.29 or nu_{b} = 695^{+651}_{-336} GHz. The Crab
Nebula is well-resolved by the ~16.7" beam (FWHM) of GISMO. Comparison to radio
data at comparable spatial resolution enables us to confirm significant spatial
variation of the spectral index between 21 cm and 2 mm. The main effect is a
spectral flattening in the inner region of the Crab Nebula, correlated with the
toroidal structure at the center of the nebula that is prominent in the near-IR
through X-ray regime.Comment: Accepted for publication in the Ap
CMB observations with the Jodrell Bank - IAC interferometer at 33 GHz
The paper presents the first results obtained with the Jodrell Bank - IAC
two-element 33 GHz interferometer. The instrument was designed to measure the
level of the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) fluctuations at angular scales
of 1 - 2 degrees. The observations analyzed here were taken in a strip of the
sky at Dec = +41 deg with an element separation of 16.7 lambda, which gives a
maximum sensitivity to ~1.6 deg structures on the sky. The data processing and
calibration of the instrument are described. The sensitivity achieved in each
of the two channels is 7 micro K per resolution element. A reconstruction of
the sky at Dec = +41 deg using a maximum entropy method shows the presence of
structure at a high level of significance. A likelihood analysis, assuming a
flat CMB spatial power spectrum, gives a best estimate of the level of CMB
fluctuations of Delta Tl = 43 (+13,-12) micro K for the range l = 109 +/- 19;
the main uncertainty in this result arises from sample variance. We consider
that the contamination from the Galaxy is small. These results represent a new
determination of the CMB power spectrum on angular scales where previous
results show a large scatter; our new results are in agreement with the
theoretical predictions of the standard inflationary cold dark matter models.Comment: 11 pages, 11 figures. Web site at

Dosimetric Comparison of VMAT, IMRT and Proton Therapy for Post- Prostatectomy Radiation Therapy for Prostate Cancer
Purpose/Objectives: Radiation therapy (RT) for the treatment of prostate cancer after radical prostatectomy (RP) is widely accepted. With technological advances, radiation treatment technique and dosimetry may vary. The purpose of this study is to quantify dosimetric difference of proton therapy versus VMAT and IMRT focusing on bladder and rectal dose sparing and target coverage.

Population-based study of ischemic stroke risk after trauma in children and young adults.
OBJECTIVE:To quantify the incidence, timing, and risk of ischemic stroke after trauma in a population-based young cohort. METHODS:We electronically identified trauma patients (<50 years old) from a population enrolled in a Northern Californian integrated health care delivery system (1997-2011). Within this cohort, we identified cases of arterial ischemic stroke within 4 weeks of trauma and 3 controls per case. A physician panel reviewed medical records, confirmed cases, and adjudicated whether the stroke was related to trauma. We calculated the 4-week stroke incidence and estimated stroke odds ratios (OR) by injury location using logistic regression. RESULTS:From 1,308,009 trauma encounters, we confirmed 52 trauma-related ischemic strokes. The 4-week stroke incidence was 4.0 per 100,000 encounters (95% confidence interval [CI] 3.0-5.2). Trauma was multisystem in 26 (50%). In 19 (37%), the stroke occurred on the day of trauma, and all occurred within 15 days. In 7/28 cases with cerebrovascular angiography at the time of trauma, no abnormalities were detected. In unadjusted analyses, head, neck, chest, back, and abdominal injuries increased stroke risk. Only head (OR 4.1, CI 1.1-14.9) and neck (OR 5.6, CI 1.03-30.9) injuries remained associated with stroke after adjusting for demographics and trauma severity markers (multisystem trauma, motor vehicle collision, arrival by ambulance, intubation). CONCLUSIONS:Stroke risk is elevated for 2 weeks after trauma. Onset is frequently delayed, providing an opportunity for stroke prevention during this period. However, in one-quarter of stroke cases with cerebrovascular angiography at the time of trauma, no vascular abnormality was detected
