Convolutional compressed sensing using deterministic sequences

In contrast to random convolution, the coefficients of the underlying filter are given by the discrete Fourier transform of a deterministic sequence with good autocorrelation. Both uniform recovery and non-uniform recovery of sparse signals are investigated, based on the coherence parameter of the proposed sensing matrices. Many examples of the sequences are investigated, particularly the Frank-Zadoff-Chu (FZC) sequence, the m-sequence and the Golay sequence. A salient feature of the proposed sensing matrices is that they can not only handle sparse signals in the time domain, but also those in the frequency and/or or discrete-cosine transform (DCT) domain
The Precise Formula in a Sine Function Form of the norm of the Amplitude and the Necessary and Sufficient Phase Condition for Any Quantum Algorithm with Arbitrary Phase Rotations
In this paper we derived the precise formula in a sine function form of the
norm of the amplitude in the desired state, and by means of he precise formula
we presented the necessary and sufficient phase condition for any quantum
algorithm with arbitrary phase rotations. We also showed that the phase
condition: identical rotation angles, is a sufficient but not a necessary phase

Swift Observations of X-ray supernovae
We present a result of X-ray supernovae (SNe) survey using the Swift
satellite public archive. An automatic searching program was designed to search
X-ray SNe among all of the Swift archival observations between November 2004
and February 2011. Using the C++ program, 24 X-ray detectable supernovae have
been found in the archive and 3 of them were newly-discovered in X-rays which
are SN 1986L, SN 2003lx, and SN 2007od. In addition, SN 2003lx is a Type Ia
supernova which may be the second X-ray detectable Type Ia after SN 2005ke
(Immler et al. 2006). Calibrated data of luminous type Ib/c supernovae was
consistent to the X-ray emission model done by Chevalier & Fransson (1994).
Statistics about the luminosities and hardness ratio have been done to purpose
of getting the X-ray emission features of the X-ray supernovae. The results
from this work help investigating the X-ray evolution of SNe and developing
similar X-ray SNe surveys in various X-rays missions
Process feasibility study in support of silicon material, task 1
Analyses of process system properties were continued for materials involved in the alternate processes under consideration for semiconductor silicon. Primary efforts centered on physical and thermodynamic property data for dichlorosilane. The following property data are reported for dichlorosilane which is involved in processing operations for solar cell grade silicon: critical temperature, critical pressure, critical volume, critical density, acentric factor, vapor pressure, heat of vaporization, gas heat capacity, liquid heat capacity and density. Work was initiated on the assembly of a system to prepare binary gas mixtures of known proportions and to measure the thermal conductivity of these mixtures between 30 and 350 C. The binary gas mixtures include silicon source material such as silanes and halogenated silanes which are used in the production of semiconductor silicon
Finding diamonds in the rough: Targeted Sub-threshold Search for Strongly-lensed Gravitational-wave Events
Strong gravitational lensing of gravitational waves can produce duplicate
signals separated in time with different amplitudes. We consider the case in
which strong lensing produces identifiable gravitational-wave events and weaker
sub-threshold signals hidden in the noise background. We present a search
method for the sub-threshold signals using reduced template banks targeting
specific confirmed gravitational-wave events. We apply the method to all events
from Advanced LIGO's first and second observing run O1/O2. Using GW150914 as an
example, we show that the method effectively reduces the noise background and
raises the significance of (near-) sub-threshold triggers. In the case of
GW150914, we can improve the sensitive distance by . Finally,
we present the top possible lensed candidates for O1/O2 gravitational-wave
events that passed our nominal significance threshold of False-Alarm-Rate days
Response of arum lily calli to culture filtrate of Pectobacterium carotovorum subsp. carotovorum
This report demonstrated that culture filtrate of Pectobacterium carotovorum ssp. carotovorum isolate ZT0505, the pathogen of bacterial soft rot disease of arum lily (Zantedeschia sp.), contained extracellular enzymes and caused arum lily leaf tissue and callus maceration. Arum lily leaf tissue and callus sensitivity to culture filtrate coincided with the host susceptibility to the pathogen. The rates of survival of callus pieces were determined after exposure for various times to culture filtrate. Survival of callus pieces (%) increased with reduction of exposure time from 20 to 14 h and from 14 to 8 h. One out of 30 callus pieces was still viable after 3 cycles of 8 h exposure. Subsequently, the surviving cells in this callus pieces proliferated and differentiated into shoots. Based on this initial work, the callus screening using culture filtrate as selection agent may be useful for in vitro selection of soft rot resistant germplasm in arum lily
A General SU(2) Formulation for Quantum Searching with Certainty
A general quantum search algorithm with arbitrary unitary transformations and
an arbitrary initial state is considered in this work. To serach a marked state
with certainty, we have derived, using an SU(2) representation: (1) the
matching condition relating the phase rotations in the algorithm, (2) a concise
formula for evaluating the required number of iterations for the search, and
(3) the final state after the search, with a phase angle in its amplitude of
unity modulus. Moreover, the optimal choices and modifications of the phase
