LCG-1 Deployment and usage experience
LCG-1 is the second release of the software framework for the LHC Computing
Grid project. In our work we describe the installation process, arising
problems and their solutions, and configuration tuning details of the complete
LCG-1 site, including all LCG elements required for the self-sufficient site.Comment: To be published in the proceedings of the XIX International Symposium

p-medicine: a medical informatics platform for integrated large scale heterogeneous patient data
Secure access to patient data is becoming of increasing importance, as medical informatics grows in significance, to both assist with population health studies, and patient specific medicine in support of treatment. However, assembling the many different types of data emanating from the clinic is in itself a difficulty, and doing so across national borders compounds the problem. In this paper we present our solution: an easy to use distributed informatics platform embedding a state of the art data warehouse incorporating a secure pseudonymisation system protecting access to personal healthcare data. Using this system, a whole range of patient derived data, from genomics to imaging to clinical records, can be assembled and linked, and then connected with analytics tools that help us to understand the data. Research performed in this environment will have immediate clinical impact for personalised patient healthcare

A Review of the Key Demands for a Football Goalkeeper
This review evaluates previously published findings relating to the needs of a football goalkeeper during match performance. Whilst there has been much interest in some aspects of goalkeepers training, performance analysis and needs analysis, these have been from closed skill penalty situations or reported as comparisons with outfield players. This paper identifies important demands, assesses the implications for coaching and as a result highlights where the focus for effective future research should be to further enhance the development of goalkeeping performance
An automated Certification Authority
This note describe an approach to building an automated Certification Authority. It is compatible with basic requirements of RFC2527. It also supports Registration Authorities and Globus Toolkit grid-cert-renew automatic certificate renewal
CompHEP development for parallel calculation of particle processes at LHC
Computation of signal and background particle processes at LHC experiments requires a lot of CPU time. Thus the problem of using of PC clusters for such calculation is very important. There is natural splitting of a calculation process into several ones for proton colliders like LHC. On the partonic level the calculation may be done for each subprocesses separately. We present a development of CompHEP system which supports the utilization of a set of CPU by means of PBS batch system or submission of a jobs into GRID. The first results for both PBS and GRID tests are presented
