A Experiência Subjetiva Do Uso De Psicotrópicos Na Perspectiva De Pessoas Com Diagnóstico De Esquizofrenia
This paper aims to discuss the subjective experience of using psychotropic drugs from the perspective of people diagnosed with schizophrenia. This is a qualitative study, with a hermeneutic or interpretative phenomenological base, that resulted from analyzing narratives produced in focus groups. It concludes that the experience of drug users is diverse and important, and should be included in the decision-making process as to their drug treatment, in which the subject must be central. © 2009 University Association for Research in Fundamental Psychopathology.191304
The Giant Pacific Oyster (Crassostrea gigas) as a modern analog for fossil ostreoids: Isotopic (Ca, O, C) and elemental (Mg/Ca, Sr/Ca, Mn/Ca) proxies
Modern analogs are an essential part of palaeoclimate studies, because they provide the basis for the understanding of geochemical signatures of fossils. Ostreoids are common in many sedimentary sequences and because of their fast growth, high temporal resolution sampling of past seasonal variability is possible. Here, two shell structures of modern Giant Pacific Oysters (Crassostrea gigas), the chalky substance and foliate layers, have been sampled for trace element distributions (Mg, Sr, Mn) and stable isotope variability (C, O, Ca). Oxygen isotopes exhibit a clear seasonal signature. Mean carbon isotope values of different oysters agree within 0.1‰, but ontogenic variability is complicated by shell growth patterns and potential small vital effects. The calcium isotope ratios are found to be constant throughout ontogeny within analytical precision at a value of δ44/40Ca = 0.68 ± 0.16‰ (2 sd) SRM–915a which is consistent with other bivalve species. Calcium isotope ratios in oyster shell material might thus be a possible proxy for palaeo seawater calcium isotope ratios. Element/Ca ratios are significantly higher in the chalky substance than in the foliate layers and especially high Sr/Ca and Mn/Ca ratios are observed for the first growth season of the oysters. Mg/Ca ratios in the chalky substance show a negative correlation with δ18O values, compatible with a temperature dependence, whereas this correlation is absent in the foliate layers. Seasonal changes of Sr/Ca are controlled by metabolic processes, whereas for Mn/Ca an additional environmental control is evident
Multicenter Adaptation Of The Guide Autonomous Management Of Medication
Rising psychotropic prescriptions and low empowerment of mental health users hamper qualified delivery of mental health services in Brazil and countries providing universal healthcare. This multicentric study performed in three Brazilian cities aimed to develop the Brazilian translation and adaptation upon the Quebecoise-Canadian Gaining Autonomy and Medication (GAM) Guide; and to evaluate the impact of its use on mental health workers education. Intervention Groups (IGs) were held to provide experience sharing on medication as relevant issues were brought up by the guide. Pre- and post- IGs focus groups were held. Major changes to the original text of the Quebecoise handbook were necessary according to the Brazilian scenario. Results show the Brazilian version as a powerful strategy to promote users' participation in decision making concerning treatment as well as the mental health services they are in treatment at. The handbook also has a positive impact on staff education.1643967980Secretaria Municipal de Campinas (2010) Informações da Secretaria Municipal de Campinas Departamento de Saúde, Saúde Mental, , CAMPINASCampos, G.W.S., (2000) Um Método Para Análise E Co-gestão De Coletivos - a Construção Do Sujeito, a Produção De Valor De Uso E a Democracia Em Instituições: O Método Da Roda, , São Paulo: HucitecCampos, G.W.S., Onocko, R.C., Co-construção de autonomia: O sujeito em questão (2005) A Construção Da Clínica Ampliada Na Atenção Básica, pp. 86-107. , CAMPOS, G.W.SMINAYO, M.C.SAKERMAN, M.CUNHA, G.T. The COVID-19 pandemic, emergency aid and social work in Brazil.
This essay reflects on the implementation of federal government emergency aid in Brazil in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting elements from the work of Social Workers in the context of growing demand for the supply of material provisions. Economic and social conditions in Brazil have particularities that impact the operationalisation of this benefit, which is aimed at the poor, that add complexity and impose limits. When considering the structural limits set, this context imposes challenges on the work of Social Workers. The need to reconnect and enhance the struggle for social rights is emphasised through the different strategies of the working class
Determination of Escitalopram in Human Plasma by High Performance Liquid Chromatography-Tandem Mass Spectrometry
A rapid (3.0 min) and sensitive (LLOQ 0.5 ng/mL) analytical method for the quantitation of
Escitalopram (ETP) in human plasma is described. The method is based on High-Performance Liquid
Chromatography-Tandem Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) using paroxetine as internal standard (I.S.).
Sample preparation involved precipitation extraction with acetonitrile. The chromatographic separation
was achieved on a ACE C18 (125 x 4,6 mm) reversed-phase column and a mobile phase containing acetonitrile/water (60:50 v/v, add 0.2 % formic acid), in isocratic conditions. The target analytes were transferred into a triple quadrupole mass spectrometer equipped with an electrospray ionization source for
mass detection. The ion transitions selected for MRM detection were: m/z 325.2 > 109.2 and 330.0 > 192.0
for ETP and I.S., respectively. The assay was linear in the concentration range of 0.5-50 ng/mL. The mean
recovery for ETP was 97.69 %. Intra- and inter-day precision (R.S.D.) were < 10.5 % and <8.2 %, respectively and the accuracy (R.E.) was in the range ± 12.23 %. The method was successfully applied to a single
oral dose pharmacokinetics study in 28 healthy Brazilian human volunteers.Colegio de Farmacéuticos de la Provincia de Buenos Aire
From Mexico to Beijing: "Women in Development" Twenty Five Years On
During the past twenty five years the Women in Development (WID)approach has become an increasingly important issue in the literature on Third World development. WID issues and related activities have now been incorporated into the aid practice of most development agencies. This paper critically analyses the diverse and conflicting ideologies that have emerged in the WID literature since the early seventies
Spatial electric load forecasting using an evolutionary heuristic
A method for spatial electric load forecasting using elements from evolutionary algorithms is presented. The method uses concepts from knowledge extraction algorithms and linguistic rules' representation to characterize the preferences for land use into a spatial database. The future land use preferences in undeveloped zones in the electrical utility service area are determined using an evolutionary heuristic, which considers a stochastic behavior by crossing over similar rules. The method considers development of new zones and also redevelopment of existing ones. The results are presented in future preference maps. The tests in a real system from a midsized city show a high rate of success when results are compared with information gathered from the utility planning department. The most important features of this method are the need for few data and the simplicity of the algorithm, allowing for future scalability

Utilização da técnica de imuno-histoquímica para confirmar casos de pitiose cutânea equina diagnosticados por meio de caracterização clínica e avaliação histopatológica
Twelve granulomatous lesions in the thoracic and pelvic limbs of horses from pantaneira breed were evaluated. It was performed suggestive diagnostic of cutaneous pythiosis according to the clinic characteristics of the lesions and histopathological exams using hematoxylin and eosin (HE) and Grocott's methenamine silver (GMS) stains. The confirmation of the diagnoses was performed by the labelled streptavidin biotin (LSAB) method (immunohistochemistry). Extensive focal pyogranulomatous dermatitis associated with pseudo hyphae characteristic of Pythium insidiosum (subcutaneous pythiosis) was the histopathological diagnosis for all 12 horses used in this study. It was confirmed in 100% of the cases by the positive result to Pythium insidiosum in the immunohistochemistry exam, characterized by the visualization of branched and septated structures. It was observed 100% of parity between the techniques. We can conclude that clinical characterization of the granulomatous lesions with pythiosis aspects in horses associated with histopathology suggestive of equine pythiosis constitute a reliable method of diagnostic that can be confirmed by immunohistochemistry technique.Univ Sao Paulo, FZEA USP, Pirassununga, SP, BrazilUniv Estadual Paulista, FCAV UNESP, Jaboticabal, SP, BrazilUniv Fed Rural Pernambuco, UFRPE, Recife, PE, BrazilUniv Cuiaba, UNIC, Fac Med Vet, Cuiaba, MT, BrazilUniv Fed Rio Grande do Sul, Fac Vet, Porto Alegre, RS, BrazilUniv Fed Mato Grosso, FAMEV UFMT, Cuiaba, MT, BrazilUniv Estadual Paulista, FCAV UNESP, Jaboticabal, SP, Brazi
