Home automation system is a house or living environment that implants the technology to allow devices and systems to be restrained automatically. Now a days the smart phones and tablets are becoming powerful and with new and useful characteristics, and better features. Smartphone affordability increases every year and they have begun to play important roles in our day to day life due to its size and portability. Controlling home appliances using an Android cell phone gives user the ability to control the home appliances anywhere, anytime in their home and saves the time spent discovering for the controlled of home automation systems since the user's phone is often kept close at hand. This project presents the design and execution of a low cost prototype of Bluetooth based home automation system using Android cell phone. In this paper, we discuss possible developments and implementation of Bluetooth wireless Technologies and Android OS (operating system) based application for Tablet or Smartphone that communicates with the home appliances through Serial connection

Loss of genetic diversity and inbreeding in Kashmir red deer (Cervus elaphus hanglu) of Dachigam National Park, Jammu & Kashmir, India

BACKGROUND: Hangul (Cervus elaphus hanglu), the eastern most subspecies of red deer, is now confined only to the mountains in the Kashmir region of Jammu & Kashmir State of India. It is of great conservation significance as this is the last and only hope for Asiatic survivor of the red deer species in India. Wild population of free ranging hangul deer inhabiting in and around Dachigam National Park was genetically assessed in order to account for constitutive genetic attributes of hangul population using microsatellite markers. RESULTS: In a pool of 36 multi-locus genotypes, 30 unique individuals were identified based on six microsatellite loci. The estimated cumulative probability of identity assuming all individuals were siblings (P(ID) sibs) was 0.009 (9 in 1000). Altogether, 49 different alleles were observed with mean (± s.e.) allelic number of 8.17 ± 1.05, ranging from 5 to 11 per locus. The observed heterozygosity ranged between 0.08 and 0.83, with mean 0.40 ± 0.11 and the inbreeding coefficient ranged between −0.04 and 0.87 with mean 0.38 ± 0.15. Majority of loci (5/6) were found to be informative (PIC value > 0.5). All loci deviated from Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium except Ca-38 (P > 0.05) and none of the pairs of loci showed significant linkage disequilibrium except the single pair of Ca-30 and Ca-43 (P < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: The preliminary findings revealed that hangul population is significantly inbred and exhibited a low genetic diversity in comparison to other deer populations of the world. We suggest prioritizing the potential individuals retaining high heterozygosity for ex situ conservation and genetic monitoring of the hangul population should be initiated covering the entire distribution range to ensure the long term survival of hangul. We speculate further ignoring genetics attributes may lead to a detrimental effect which can negatively influence the reproductive fitness and survivorship of the hangul population in the wild

Objective: The objective of this study was to develop and standardize a polyherbal preparation (POL–6) and evaluate its use in treating oxidative, inflammatory and immune disorders. Methods: The individual hydroalcoholic extractions of Hypericum perforatum, Bacopa monnieri, Centella asiatica, Withania somnifera, Ocimum sanctum and Camellia sinesis dried plant materials were done, and POL–6 was prepared by mixing them in (1:2:2:2:2:1) proportions. POL–6 has been standardized on the basis of organoleptic properties, physical characteristics, and physicochemical properties. The antioxidant activities were evaluated using free radical scavenging methods for 1,1–diphenyl–2–picrylhydrazyl, (DPPH) and nitric oxide assays. Anti–inflammatory activity was done by albumin denaturation and HRBC membrane stabilization assays. Cell viability assay was used for immunomodulatory activity measurement by cultivating peripheral blood mononuclear cells. Results: The results obtained from physical and chemical parameters evaluation shows that the contents of preparation present are within permissible limits. In in–vitro antioxidant studies POL–6 showed significant antioxidant activity when tested in 1–1 Diphenyl–2–picrylhydrazyl and nitric oxide assays. In in–vitro antiâ€inflammatory investigation, POL–6 exhibited significant inhibition against albumin denaturation and significant protection against membrane stabilization assay. POL–6 also exhibit significant immunomodulatory activity at low doses, when tested in cell viability assay. Conclusion: The results from this study rationalize the medicinal use of POL–6 in oxidative, inflammatory and immune disorders. Keywords: Polyherbal preparation, Antioxidant, Antiâ€inflammatory, Immunomodulator

It is an established fact that the last decade is evident for the advancement in manufacturing sector by the use of various digital manufacturing (DM) techniques. Agent technology has contributed far in the DM by simplifying and adding synergy to the various functionaries in form of static and mobile agents. The agents contribute in the paradigms of designing, diagnosis, production, marketing etc. In the international business market, the agent technology has increased the competence by providing fast, error free, customized services. The paper first reviews the work done in the field of applications of agent technology in digital manufacturing including the role of agent technology in prognosis and then the research object is to develop a framework for the prognosis of digital data feeded to the manufacturing facilities of DM system. The paper focus on the introduction and brief description of the manufacturing prognosis agent in context to Digital manufacturing. Key words: manufacturing prognosis agent, digital manufacturing, prognosis, agent technology, digital dat

Performance Evaluation of WebRTC-Based Video Conferencing: A Comprehensive Analysis

    Get PDF
In an ever-evolving technological landscape, addressing the performance challenges of real-time communication protocols is crucial. Real-time communication, facilitated by streaming media protocols, utilizes peer-to-peer or client-server models to enhance Quality of Service (QoS). WebRTC (Web Real-Time Communication) stands as a widely adopted, browser-based, open-source, peer-to-peer protocol, offering real-time media transmission through JavaScript APIs without third-party plugins. This paper presents an in-depth performance evaluation of a WebRTC-based video conferencing system using Socket.io services on a Node.js server. Our research expands on recent studies by introducing a comprehensive set of performance parameters, including Processing delay, CPU Utilization, Latency, Jitter, and Packet Loss, and packet delay. Our findings indicate that WebRTC performs exceptionally well within specific latency thresholds. However, scalability concerns emerge when a large number of clients are introduced, especially in bandwidth-constrained environments

An Efficient and Robust Tuple Timestamp Hybrid Historical Relational Data Model

This paper proposes a novel, efficient and robust tuple time stamped hybrid historical relational model for dealing with temporal data. The primary goal of developing this model is to make it easier to manage historical data robustly with minimal space requirements and retrieve it more quickly and efficiently. The model's efficiency and results were revealed when it was applied to an employee database. The proposed model's performance in terms of query execution time and space requirements is compared to a single relational data model. The obtained results show that the proposed model is approximately 20% faster than the conventional single relational data model. Memory consumption results also show that the proposed model's memory cost at different frequencies is significantly reduced, which is approximately 30% less than the single relational data model for a set of queries. Because net cost is strongly related to query execution time and memory cost, the suggested model's net cost is also significantly reduced. The proposed tuple timestamp hybrid historical model acts as generic, accurate and robust model. It provides the same functionality as previous versions, as well as hybrid functionality of previously proposed models, with a significant improvement in query execution speed and memory usage. This model is effective and reliable for the use in a wide range of temporal database fields, including insurance, geographic information systems, stocks and finance (e.g. Finacle in Banking), data warehousing, scientific databases, legal case histories, and medical records
