A Framework for Design and Composition of Semantic Web Services
Semantic Web Services (SWS) are Web Services (WS)
whose description is semantically enhanced with markup
languages (e.g., OWL-S). This semantic description will enable external agents and programs to discover, compose and
invoke SWSs. However, as a previous step to the specification of SWSs in a language, it must be designed at a conceptual level to guarantee its correctness and avoid
inconsistencies among its internal components. In this
paper, we present a framework for design and (semi)
automatic composition of SWSs at a language-independent
and knowledge level. This framework is based on a stack of
ontologies that (1) describe the different parts of a SWS;
and (2) contain a set of axioms that are really design rules to be verified by the ontology instances. Based on these ontologies, design and composition of SWSs can be viewed as the correct instantiation of the ontologies themselves. Once these instances have been created they will be exported to SWS languages such as OWL-S

Spontaneous emergence of contrarian-like behaviour in an opinion spreading model
We introduce stochastic driving in the Sznajd model of opinion spreading.
This stochastic effect is meant to mimic a social temperature, so that agents
can take random decisions with a varying probability. We show that a stochastic
driving has a tremendous impact on the system dynamics as a whole by inducing
an order-disorder nonequilibrium phase transition. Interestingly, under certain
conditions, this stochastic dynamics can spontaneously lead to agents in the

Methods of isolation and identification of pathogenic and potential pathogenic bacteria from skins and tannery effluents
Currently there is no standard protocol available within the leather industry to isolate and identify pathogenic bacteria from hides, skins or tannery effluent. This study was therefore carried out to identify simple but effective methods for isolation and identification of bacterial pathogens from the effluent and skins during leather processing. Identification methods based on both phenotypic and genotypic characteristics were investigated. Bacillus cereus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa were used as indicator bacteria to evaluate the isolation and identification methods. Decontaminated calfskins were inoculated with a pure culture of the above mentioned bacterial species followed by a pre-tanning and chromium tanning processes. Effluent samples were collected and skins were swabbed at the end of each processing stage. Bacterial identification was carried out based on the phenotypic characteristics; such as colony appearance on selective solid media, cell morphology following a standard Gram-staining and spore staining techniques, and biochemical reactions, e.g., the ability of a bacterial species to ferment particular sugars and ability to produce certain enzymes. Additionally, an identification system based on bacterial phenotypic characteristics, known as Biolog® system was applied. A pulsed-filed gel electrophoresis (PFGE) method for bacterial DNA fingerprinting was also evaluated and used for the identification of the inoculated bacteria. Phase transition in the Sznajd model with independence
We propose a model of opinion dynamics which describes two major types of
social influence -- conformity and independence. Conformity in our model is
described by the so called outflow dynamics (known as Sznajd model). According
to sociologists' suggestions, we introduce also a second type of social
influence, known in social psychology as independence. Various social
experiments have shown that the level of conformity depends on the society. We
introduce this level as a parameter of the model and show that there is a
continuous phase transition between conformity and independence
Van Kampen's expansion approach in an opinion formation model
We analyze a simple opinion formation model consisting of two parties, A and
B, and a group I, of undecided agents. We assume that the supporters of parties
A and B do not interact among them, but only interact through the group I, and
that there is a nonzero probability of a spontaneous change of opinion (A->I,
B->I). From the master equation, and via van Kampen's Omega-expansion approach,
we have obtained the "macroscopic" evolution equation, as well as the
Fokker-Planck equation governing the fluctuations around the deterministic
behavior. Within the same approach, we have also obtained information about the

Enfermedades infecciosas gastrointestinales
El presente trabajo fue realizado en el Servicio de Internación Pediátrica NºII del Hospital Dr. Humberto Notti, ubicado en Banderas de los Andes 2603, en el departamento de Guaymallén. Está orientado a investigar la relación que existe entre la aparición de infecciones gastrointestinales y el origen social, tomando como muestra a los pacientes menores de 5 años internados en dicho servicio comprendidos entre los meses de septiembre, octubre y noviembre de 2013.

An Environment for Development of Semantic Web Services
Semantic Web Services (SWSs) are specified in a semantic markup language to enable other services (and agents) to reason about their capabilities, in order to decide whether a SWS should be invoked or not. In this paper an environment for development and description of SWSs is presented. This environment, called ODE SWSDesigner, consists of a graphical interface, which allows users to carry out the design and characterization of SWSs at a conceptual level, and a set of software modules, which verify the design correctness and perform the translations from the graphical descriptions to the languages used to specify SWSs. ODE SWSDesigner provides support for a layer-based framework that we have proposed with the aim of enabling a language -independent development of SWSs. This framework is based on the use of problemsolving methods that are considered as highlevel specifications from which SWS descriptions can be generated and verified
