Dynamic Critical approach to Self-Organized Criticality

A dynamic scaling Ansatz for the approach to the Self-Organized Critical (SOC) regime is proposed and tested by means of extensive simulations applied to the Bak-Sneppen model (BS), which exhibits robust SOC behavior. Considering the short-time scaling behavior of the density of sites ($\rho(t)$) below the critical value, it is shown that i) starting the dynamics with configurations such that $\rho(t=0) \to 0$ one observes an {\it initial increase} of the density with exponent $\theta = 0.12(2)$; ii) using initial configurations with $\rho(t=0) \to 1$, the density decays with exponent $\delta = 0.47(2)$. It is also shown that he temporal autocorrelation decays with exponent $C_a = 0.35(2)$. Using these, dynamically determined, critical exponents and suitable scaling relationships, all known exponents of the BS model can be obtained, e.g. the dynamical exponent $z = 2.10(5)$, the mass dimension exponent $D = 2.42(5)$, and the exponent of all returns of the activity $\tau_{ALL} = 0.39(2)$, in excellent agreement with values already accepted and obtained within the SOC regime.Comment: Rapid Communication Physical Review E in press (4 pages, 5 figures

Pengaruh Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe Stad terhadap Hasil Belajar Materi Larutan Elektrolit dan Non Elektrolit

AbstrackThe purpose of this research was to know the effect of cooperative learning model of Student Teams Achievment Division (STAD) type based toward achievement on the electrolite and non electrolite solutions material. The population of this research was from all students of class X at SMK Negeri 2 Pontianak 2016/2017 school year. As a sample, the researcher used class X TEI B (Industrial Electronics Engineering B) as the control class and class X TPPPP (Broadcasting of Television Program Production Techniques) as the experiment class. This research used quasy experimental design. The sample was taken by random sampling technique. The research finding showed there were the differences between the students\u27achievement in experiment class with the students\u27 achievement in the control class in which the average score of experimental class posttest was 59.00 and the average score of control class posttest was 42.68. The effect cooperative learning model STAD type based constibute about 35.7% toward the achievement of the electrolite and non electrolite solutions material of class X at SMK Negeri 2 Pontianak

A modular platform for fusion of images

The purpose of the fusion is the synthesis of multimodal images offering the best spatial resolution available in the data set. These synthesized images should be as close as possible to reality. This platform is written in IDL. It calls upon the ARSIS concept and thus comprises three categories of models. For each category, several models were implemented. Each model of a given category may be combined with models of the other categories, thus offering several possible strategies.
