LA TESI SI PONE COME OBIETTIVO LA COSTRUZIONE DI SISTEMI MULTCRITERI DI SUPPORTO ALLE DECISIONI PER LA PIANIFICAZIONE TERRITORIALE E SI COMPONE DI TRE PARTI: UNA PARTE TEORICA, UNA PARTE TECNICO-METODOLOGICA ED UNA PARTE APPLICATIVA. LA PARTE TEORICA ANALIZZA LE PROBLEMATICHE DELL’AIUTO ALLE DECISIONI E DELLA VALUTAZIONE TERRITORIALE INTEGRATA SOTTOLINENDO L’IMPORTANZA DELL’ANALISI SPAZIALE E DEGLI STRUMENTI GIS NEI CONTESTI DECISIONALI DI PIANIFICAZIONE. LA SECONDA PARTE AFFRONTA NEL DETTAGLIO LE TECNICHE DI ANALISI GEOSTATISTICA ,SIA UNIVARIATA CHE MULTIVARIATA, E DESCRIVE GLI ASPETTI METODOLOGICI E COMPUTAZIONALI DI DUE TECNICHE DI ANALISI A CRITERI MULTIPLI: IL METODO AHP E LE PROCEDURE ELECTRE. LA TERZA PARTE RIGUARDA LA SPERIMENTAZIONE DI DUE SISTEMI MULTICRITERI DI SUPPORTO ALLE DECISIONI SU DUE CASI DI STUDIO REALI: LA VALUTAZIONE DEL RISCHIO INCENDI NELLA PROVINCIA DI LIVORNO E LA LOCALIZZAZIONE DI UNA DISCARICA NEL COMPRENSORIO DEL CUOIO IN TOSCANA

SELF ASSESSMENT: A CRUCIAL PROCESS IN E-TRAINING

The paper offers a discussion about the concept of training from a psychological point of view. Training is a process that concerns a lifelong learning perspective, especially if referred to e-learning and on line activities. We present the Child Observation in School Context Workshop, an experience of e-training at Macerata University. We intend to stress the crucial relevance of self assessment in training processes that involve adults\u2019 participation. We describe the methodology used in the Workshop, according to the on line educational context. Besides peer discussion and negotiation, we pay attention to the final phase of the training process. In the instructional design it is significant to insert a phase in which teachers or trainers share with participants the criterions through which they will make the assessment. We show the differences, in terms of curricular results, between two editions of the same on line course: in the first one we did not share the criterions of assessment with participants, on the contrary in the second edition we dedicated a special moment to this activity. We demonstrate the importance to plan a moment in which participants are requested to evaluate their involvement both in terms of process and outcomes

Current status of the research on transparent YAG ceramics as laser hosts from an Italian network

This work describes the results obtained using two different processing systems for the production of YAG based ceramics. One involves the use of commercially available oxide powders (Yb2O3, Y2O3, Al2O3) The other involves the use of Yb-doped Y2O3 (Yb, 9.8%) powders obtained by microwave assisted co-precipitation from salts solution and a commercial alumina (Al2O3). Both systems are processed by wet mechanical mixing of starting oxides and reactive sintering of the obtained mixtur

Gestational age and hospital utilization : three-years follow-up of an area-based birth cohort

OBJECTIVE: To investigate differences by gestational age in emergency department visits and re-hospitalizations during the three years following childbirth discharge. METHODS: We performed a historical cohort study in Lazio Region, Italy, for infants born in 2007-2008 to resident mothers. Health administrative data were used. Analysis was performed by multinomial logistic regression. RESULTS: Of 90 545 infants, more than 50% had at least one emergency department visit, and 18.8% at least one re-hospitalization. After the exclusion of infants with congenital anomalies, relative risk ratios of re-hospitalization and, to a lesser extent, of emergency department visits increased by decreasing gestational age; the two events were also higher for mothers ≤35 years of age, with low education and of Italian nationality. Residency outside the metropolitan area was associated with an increased risk of re-hospitalization and a decreased risk of emergency department visits. CONCLUSION: During the three years following childbirth discharge, re-hospitalizations and, to a lesser extent, emergency department use are inversely related to gestational age at birth; socio-demographic factors have an effect on the risk of infant use of hospital resources independent of gestational age

Maternal longevity is associated with lower infant mortality

OBJECTIVE Referring to the multidisciplinary and multipurpose survey AKeA2, and focusing on family genealogy data on centenarian women and controls, this paper aims to verify the hypothesis that maternal longevity is associated with lower infant mortality in offspring, after having controlled for fertility characteristics, familial longevity and some contextual variables. METHODS The association between the longevity of a mother and her children's infant mortality level was assessed using a multivariate Poisson Regression Model with robust estimates, which is suitable for estimating consistently and efficiently the relative risk when binary data are used. RESULTS Our results show an association between longevity and infant mortality among the children of the Sardinians who survived to become centenarians. Infant mortality is significantly lower for children belonging to a mother born and living in Sassari and Oristano than Nuoro, close to each other and both located on the Western coast.</br

Re_Start from Pubblic Spaces: New Perspectives for the Historic Centers of Treia in the Marche Region

The tragic seismic events developed in the inland areas of the Marche Region, have brought out, more clearly, phenomena that were already underway for some decades: depopulation and abandonment, economic decline and consequent construction degradation. In the case of some urban settlement within the seismic zone, we witness a scenario of almost total devastation, which requires not only a reconstruction but a real new foundation. For the re-foundation of Apennine historic centers devastated by the earthquake, it is possible to assume new interpretative paradigms, starting from the public spaces, that are space of connection and aggregation. It is analyzed the main square in the historic center of Treia, a small nucleus in the inland area of the Marche Region, to verify a project strategy, which focuses on that public space

Cardinality-Constrained Multi-Objective Optimization: Novel Optimality Conditions and Algorithms

    Get PDF
In this paper, we consider multi-objective optimization problems with a sparsity constraint on the vector of variables. For this class of problems, inspired by the homonymous necessary optimality condition for sparse single-objective optimization, we define the concept of L-stationarity and we analyze its relationships with other existing conditions and Pareto optimality concepts. We then propose two novel algorithmic approaches: the first one is an Iterative Hard Thresholding method aiming to find a single L-stationary solution, while the second one is a two-stage algorithm designed to construct an approximation of the whole Pareto front. Both methods are characterized by theoretical properties of convergence to points satisfying necessary conditions for Pareto optimality. Moreover, we report numerical results establishing the practical effectiveness of the proposed methodologies.Comment: 20 pages, 7 figures, 1 tabl
