Cascaded 3D Full-body Pose Regression from Single Depth Image at 100 FPS
There are increasing real-time live applications in virtual reality, where it
plays an important role in capturing and retargetting 3D human pose. But it is
still challenging to estimate accurate 3D pose from consumer imaging devices
such as depth camera. This paper presents a novel cascaded 3D full-body pose
regression method to estimate accurate pose from a single depth image at 100
fps. The key idea is to train cascaded regressors based on Gradient Boosting
algorithm from pre-recorded human motion capture database. By incorporating
hierarchical kinematics model of human pose into the learning procedure, we can
directly estimate accurate 3D joint angles instead of joint positions. The
biggest advantage of this model is that the bone length can be preserved during
the whole 3D pose estimation procedure, which leads to more effective features
and higher pose estimation accuracy. Our method can be used as an
initialization procedure when combining with tracking methods. We demonstrate
the power of our method on a wide range of synthesized human motion data from
CMU mocap database, Human3.6M dataset and real human movements data captured in
real time. In our comparison against previous 3D pose estimation methods and
commercial system such as Kinect 2017, we achieve the state-of-the-art
accuracy
Anonymous and Adaptively Secure Revocable IBE with Constant Size Public Parameters
In Identity-Based Encryption (IBE) systems, key revocation is non-trivial.
This is because a user's identity is itself a public key. Moreover, the private
key corresponding to the identity needs to be obtained from a trusted key
authority through an authenticated and secrecy protected channel. So far, there
exist only a very small number of revocable IBE (RIBE) schemes that support
non-interactive key revocation, in the sense that the user is not required to
interact with the key authority or some kind of trusted hardware to renew her
private key without changing her public key (or identity). These schemes are
either proven to be only selectively secure or have public parameters which
grow linearly in a given security parameter. In this paper, we present two
constructions of non-interactive RIBE that satisfy all the following three
attractive properties: (i) proven to be adaptively secure under the Symmetric
External Diffie-Hellman (SXDH) and the Decisional Linear (DLIN) assumptions;
(ii) have constant-size public parameters; and (iii) preserve the anonymity of
ciphertexts---a property that has not yet been achieved in all the current
schemes
Microbial community pattern detection in human body habitats via ensemble clustering framework
The human habitat is a host where microbial species evolve, function, and
continue to evolve. Elucidating how microbial communities respond to human
habitats is a fundamental and critical task, as establishing baselines of human
microbiome is essential in understanding its role in human disease and health.
However, current studies usually overlook a complex and interconnected
landscape of human microbiome and limit the ability in particular body habitats
with learning models of specific criterion. Therefore, these methods could not
capture the real-world underlying microbial patterns effectively. To obtain a
comprehensive view, we propose a novel ensemble clustering framework to mine
the structure of microbial community pattern on large-scale metagenomic data.
Particularly, we first build a microbial similarity network via integrating
1920 metagenomic samples from three body habitats of healthy adults. Then a
novel symmetric Nonnegative Matrix Factorization (NMF) based ensemble model is
proposed and applied onto the network to detect clustering pattern. Extensive
experiments are conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of our model on
deriving microbial community with respect to body habitat and host gender. From
clustering results, we observed that body habitat exhibits a strong bound but
non-unique microbial structural patterns. Meanwhile, human microbiome reveals
different degree of structural variations over body habitat and host gender. In
summary, our ensemble clustering framework could efficiently explore integrated
clustering results to accurately identify microbial communities, and provide a
comprehensive view for a set of microbial communities. Such trends depict an
integrated biography of microbial communities, which offer a new insight
towards uncovering pathogenic model of human microbiome.Comment: BMC Systems Biology 201
Experimental Test of Irreducible Four-Qubit Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger Paradox
Bell's theorem shows a profound contradiction between local realism and
quantum mechanics on the level of statistical predictions. It does not involve
directly Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) correlations. The paradox of
Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) disproves directly the concept of EPR
elements of reality, based on the EPR correlations, in an all-versus-nothing
way. A three-qubit experimental demonstration of the GHZ paradox was achieved
nearly twenty years ago, and followed by demonstrations for more qubits. Still,
the GHZ contradictions underlying the tests can be reduced to three-qubit one.
We show an irreducible four-qubit GHZ paradox, and report its experimental
demonstration. The reducibility loophole is closed. The bound of a
three-setting per party Bell-GHZ inequality is violated by . The
