Spontaneous emission and quantum discord: comparison of Hilbert-Schmidt and trace distance discord

Hilbert - Schmidt and trace norm geometric quantum discord are compared with regard to their behavior during local time evolution. We consider the system of independent two - level atoms with time evolution given by the dissipative process of spontaneous emission. It is explicitly shown that the Hilbert - Schmidt norm discord has nonphysical properties with respect to such local evolution and cannot serve as a reasonable measure of quantum correlations and the better choice is to use trace norm discord as such a measure

Implementation of TPA (Third Party Access) principle in Polish energy sector

The barriers to changing electricity supplier include economic, technical and formal ones. Removing them in the future will result in the increase of competition scale in energy sector.Przeszkodą w zmianie sprzedawcy energii jest szereg barier ekonomicznych, technicznych i formalnych. Ich usunięcie pozwoli w przyszłości na wzrost stopnia konkurencji w sektorze elektroenergetycznym

CULTURAL, POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC ASPECTS OF THE INTERNATIONAL EXPANSION OF BANKS FROM CENTRAL AND EASTERN EUROPE – CASES: POLISH PKO BP AND HUNGARIAN OTP BANK

    Get PDF
Polish PKO BP and Hungarian OTP Bank are the largest, dominant national bankinginstitutions of a similar nature – universal banks with a strong emphasis on retail operations. However, they differ significantly because of international activities. PKO BP has only local bankin Ukraine, and the OTP group is present in 9 countries in CEE. The relatively strong economicposition of both banks, similar history would indicate that their activities related to foreignexpansions should develop in the same way. However, this hasnʼt happen. Among a number ofreasons we should include cultural aspects, closely bound up with the legacy of the past, politicaland economic circumstances for both countries

Cost allocation in partition functionform games

    Get PDF
A cooperative game in partition function form is proposed for a cost allocation problem. The game describes a real situation in which a payoff of any coalition does not only depend on the players in the coalition but also on the coalition structure of the other players. Solution concepts like the stable set and the core are analyzed. Relations of the concepts in the case of the game in partition function form and of an appropriately formulated game in characteristic function form are shown.partition function form game, core, stable set, cost allocation

Constraints on the optical precursor to the naked-eye burst GRB080319B from Pi of the Sky observations

I present the results of the search for an optical precursor to the naked-eye burst - GRB080319B, which reached 5.87m optical peak luminosity in the "Pi of the Sky" data. A burst of such a high brightness could have been preceded by an optical precursor luminous enough to be in detection range of our experiment. The "Pi of the Sky" cameras observed the coordinates of the GRB for about 20 minutes prior to the explosion, thus provided crucial data for the precursor search. No signal within 3 sigma limit was found. A limit of 12m (V-band equivalent) was set based on the data combined from two cameras, the most robust limit to my knowledge for this precursor.Comment: Accepted for publication in Astronomy and Astrophysics on 07 February 201

Continuous Defect Prediction: The Idea and a Related Dataset

    Get PDF
We would like to present the idea of our Continuous Defect Prediction (CDP) research and a related dataset that we created and share. Our dataset is currently a set of more than 11 million data rows, representing files involved in Continuous Integration (CI) builds, that synthesize the results of CI builds with data we mine from software repositories. Our dataset embraces 1265 software projects, 30,022 distinct commit authors and several software process metrics that in earlier research appeared to be useful in software defect prediction. In this particular dataset we use TravisTorrent as the source of CI data. TravisTorrent synthesizes commit level information from the Travis CI server and GitHub open-source projects repositories. We extend this data to a file change level and calculate the software process metrics that may be used, for example, as features to predict risky software changes that could break the build if committed to a repository with CI enabled.Comment: Lech Madeyski and Marcin Kawalerowicz.
