    Argudio testua eskolan gehien landu ohi den testu generoa da eta hori erakusten du Batxilergorako curriculumak. Lan honen abiapuntua joan den urtean egindako ikerketa bat izan da, non argudio-testuak lantzeko sekuentzia didaktiko bat prestatzea zen helburu. Bertan ikasleek idatzitako iritzi artikuluak aztertu ziren abiapuntu gisa idaz kontsigna bat erabiliz. Testu haiek egitura aldetik ongi eraikiak zeuden, baina argudio testuetan hain ohikoa den besteari erreferentzia egiteko modurik ez zen ageri eta arazoa kontsignan bertan zegoen, ez baitzuen helbururik zehazten. Beraz, kontsigna hark eragindako arazoak oinarri harturik datozen orrialdeetan kontsigna batek ondorengo ekoizpen idatzietan duen eragin zuzena frogatu da eta era horretan testu egokiagoak aurki daitezkeela, nahiz eta testu generoak eska ditzakeen alderdi guztiak ez diren ongi menderatuko. Horretarako kontsigna berri bat eraiki da eta haren xede nagusia ikasleei testu hobeak ekoizteko baldintzak eskaintzea izan da.     Tailoring palladium nanocontacts by electromigration

    Electromigration is employed in nanoelectronics for transforming narrow metallic wires into electrodes separated by a few nanometers gap. In this work, we fabricate either nanoconstrictions or nanogap electrodes by performing electromigration in palladium nanowires. The device resistance and the cross section of the initial nanowires allow us to regulate the conditions for transforming deterministically each nanowire in a specific final device. The resulting samples show unique electrical transport characteristics and could be used in multiple nanoelectronics research applications, from ballistic transport to electrodes for single molecular devices.Fil: Arzubiaga, Libe. Euskararen erabilera bultzatu nahi bada, beharrezkoa da umeei hizkuntza horretan mintzatzeko ingurunea eskaintzea. Ahozkotasuna lantzeko baliabideak urriak eta errepikakorrak direla ikusi da, eta teknologia berriek ematen dituzten aukerak gutxi erabiltzen dira orokorrean. Esku artean duzun lan honetan ahozko hizkuntza lantzeko proposamen berritzaile bat eskaintzen da: web orria. Material honen bidez, irakasle eta gurasoentzako informazio eta baliabide gune bat eskaintzen da, Lehen Hezkuntzako umeekin ahozkotasuna era aktibo eta dibertigarrian lantzeko aukerak emanez.[ES] Hoy en día, cada vez más profesionales de la educación se dan cuenta de la necesidad de trabajar la oralidad. Si se quiere reforzar la utilización del euskera, es necesario ofrecer a los estudiantes un entorno para practicarlo. Se ha visto que los recursos para trabajar la oralidad son escasos y repetitivos, y no se suele hacer mucho uso a las posibilidades que nos ofrecen las nuevas tecnologías. En este trabajo que tienes entre manos, se ofrece una innovadora propuesta: una página web. Mediante este material, se ofrece tanto a los profesores como a los padres y madres un punto de información y recursos, para que puedan trabajar el lenguaje oral con niños de Educación Primaria de una forma activa y divertida.[EN] Nowadays, more and more education professionals realize the need to work on oral language. If we want to reinforce the use of Euskera, it is necessary to offer students an environment to practice it. Resources to work orality are scarce and repetitive, and not much use is made of the possibilities offered by new technologies. Through this material, both teachers and parents are offered a point of information and resources, so that they can work with oral language with children of Primary Education in an active and fun way

    En la primera parte de este trabajo se presenta de manera general el Proyecto FONDEF D04I1313, el cual se encuentra en ejecución. Este consiste en la construcción de un modelo para evaluar la calidad de la respuesta de la escuela a la diversidad de estudiantes, con énfasis en aquellos que presentan necesidades educativas especiales. La segunda parte, aporta un análisis exhaustivo del concepto de calidad en educación y la calidad de la educación desde una mirada centrada en la escuela, revisión realizada en el marco del mismo proyecto, en tanto la calidad constituye un eje central del modelo de evaluación que se está desarrollando. Muchos países están invirtiendo importantes esfuerzos y recursos para incentivar procesos de mejora continuos en las escuelas, que impacten en los resultados de aprendizaje de los estudiantes e incrementen los niveles de calidad y equidad de la educación. La dificultad de llegar a consenso respecto de qué es una escuela exitosa o eficaz, lleva a preguntarse sobre el concepto de calidad y de equidad, sobre cuáles son buenos resultados educativos y cómo identificarlos y evaluarlos, cuestiones que están en el centro del debate nacional en educación. El enfoque adoptado en el modelo de evaluación Inclusiva, considera como factores claves de calidad la inclusión y la respuesta a diversidad del alumnado, adoptando un concepto de calidad que incorpora la atención preferente a los grupos de alumnos más vulnerables, sea por tener algún tipo de necesidad educativa especial o, por estar en situaciones sociales o culturales desfavorables.     High Frequency Radar Wind Turbine Interference Community Working Group Report

    Land-based High Frequency (HF) Radars provide critically important observations of the coastal ocean that will be adversely affected by the spinning blades of utility-scale wind turbines. Pathways to mitigate the interference of turbines on HF radar observations exist for small number of turbines; however, a greatly increased pace of research is required to understand how to minimize the complex interference patterns that will be caused by the large arrays of turbines planned for the U.S. outer continental shelf. To support the U.S.’s operational and scientific needs, HF radars must be able to collect high-quality measurements of the ocean’s surface inand around areas with significant numbers of wind turbines. This is a solvable problem, but given the rapid pace of wind energy development, immediate action is needed to ensure that HF radar wind turbine interference mitigation efforts keep pace with the planned build out of turbines

    Do oil and gas platforms off California reduce recruitment of bocaccio (Sebastes paucispinis) to natural habitat? An analysis based on trajectories derived from high-frequency radar

    To investigate the possibility that oil and gas platforms may reduce recruitment of rockfishes (Sebastes spp.) to natural habitat, we simulated drift pathways termed “trajectories” in our model) from an existing oil platform to nearshore habitat using current measurements from high-frequency (HF) radars. The trajectories originated at Platform Irene, located west of Point Conception, California, during two recruiting seasons for bocaccio (Sebastes paucispinis): May through August, 1999 and 2002. Given that pelagic juvenile bocaccio dwell near the surface, the trajectories estimate transport to habitat. We assumed that appropriate shallow water juvenile habitat exists inshore of the 50-m isobath. Results from 1999 indicated that 10% of the trajectories represent transport to habitat, whereas 76% represent transport across the offshore boundary. For 2002, 24% represent transport to habitat, and 69% represent transport across the offshore boundary. Remaining trajectories (14% and 7% for 1999 and 2002, respectively) exited the coverage area either northward or southward along isobaths. Deployments of actual drifters (with 1-m drogues) from a previous multiyear study provided measurements originating near Platform Irene from May through August. All but a few of the drifters moved offshore, as was also shown with the HF radar-derived trajectories. These results indicate that most juvenile bocaccio settling on the platform would otherwise have been transported offshore and perished in the absence of a platform. However, these results do not account for the swimming behavior of juvenile bocaccio, about which little is known

    Operational Experience with Autonomous Star Trackers on ESA Interplanetary Spacecraft

    Mars Express (MEX), Rosetta and Venus Express (VEX) are ESA interplanetary spacecrafts (S/C) launched in June 2003, March 2004 and November 2005, respectively. Mars Express was injected into Mars orbit end of 2003 with routine operations starting in spring 2004. Rosetta is since launch on its way to rendezvous comet Churyumov-Gerasimenko in 2014. It has completed several test and commissioning activities and is performing several planetary swingbys (Earth in spring 2005, Mars in spring 2007, Earth in autumn 2007 and again two years later). Venus Express has also started routine operations since the completion of the Venus orbit insertion maneuver sequence beginning of May 2006. All three S/C are three axes stabilized with a similar attitude and orbit control system (AOCS). The attitude is estimated on board using star and rate sensors and controlled using four reaction wheels. A bipropellant reaction control system with 10N thrusters serves for wheel off loadings and attitude control in safe mode. Mars Express and Venus Express have an additional 400N engine for the planetary orbit insertion. Nominal Earth communication is accomplished through a high gain antenna. All three S/C are equipped with a redundant set of autonomous star trackers (STR) which are based on almost the same hardware. The STR software is especially adapted for the respective mission.     Analyzing the thermal regime of power supply units in portable betatrons by using infrared thermography

    Potentials of infrared thermography in analyzing a thermal regime of the 7.5 MeV betatron power supply are discussed. Both the heating rate and thermal inertia of particular electronic components have been evaluated by processing pixel-based temperature histories. The data treatment has been performed by using the original ThermoFit Pro software to illustrate that some advanced processing algorithms, such as the Fourier transform and principle component analysis, are valuable in identifying thermal dynamics of particular power supply parts
