Public Library as a Social Interactive Space
This paper elaborates on the current condition of the public library, focusing on the one in Alor Gajah. One of the main issues faced by the public library today is the lack of visitors. Scholars suggest that it is crucial to integrate the users’ perspectives into the building design as the sense of attachment of the user to a place can greatly affect their attitude towards the spaces perceived. The study aims to investigate the new approaches in the design of a library, to upgrade it as a social interactive space, particularly in Alor Gajah, Melaka.
Disk Detective: Discovery of New Circumstellar Disk Candidates through Citizen Science
The Disk Detective citizen science project aims to find new stars with 22
micron excess emission from circumstellar dust using data from NASA's WISE
mission. Initial cuts on the AllWISE catalog provide an input catalog of
277,686 sources. Volunteers then view images of each source online in 10
different bands to identify false-positives (galaxies, background stars,
interstellar matter, image artifacts, etc.). Sources that survive this online
vetting are followed up with spectroscopy on the FLWO Tillinghast telescope.
This approach should allow us to unleash the full potential of WISE for finding
new debris disks and protoplanetary disks. We announce a first list of 37 new
disk candidates discovered by the project, and we describe our vetting and
follow-up process. One of these systems appears to contain the first debris
disk discovered around a star with a white dwarf companion: HD 74389. We also
report four newly discovered classical Be stars (HD 6612, HD 7406, HD 164137,
and HD 218546) and a new detection of 22 micron excess around a previously
known debris disk host star, HD 22128.Comment: 50 pages, accepted for publication in the Astrophysical Journa
The factors that influence customer satisfaction towards service quality in Tabung Haji's headquarters / Wan Lily Maznah Mahfudz Jeffry
The purpose of this research to study the factors that influence customer satisfaction towards service quality in Tabung Haji's Headquarters. Basically, this study was based on the responses from customers of TH Headquarters. This research used the (SERVQUAL) dimension. There are five (5) dimensions SERVQUAL which is include tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurances and empathy. Tabung Haji was established from the idea Royal Prof Ungku Aziz. The main function of the organizational is to save gradually to support the expenditure during pilgrimage and for another beneficial purpose, especially saving or investment. The main reasons to conduct the research are TH received several complaints on front-line service employees and counter services. Besides, some of customers aired their unsatisfied with the service quality provided in TH through the internet and social media. So,it leads to give bad impact of service quality in TH. The waiting time have lead to wasting customers time and lead to unsatisfied to counter service. So,with all these problems, the researcher conduct this study to determine the which factor of service quality give influence to customer satisfaction. Questionnaire were distribute to customer that had experience in Tabung Haji's services. The five dimension of service quality is measured using Pearson Correlation to analyze the significant of service quality towards customer satisfaction

Validation of a priori CME arrival predictions made using real-time heliospheric imager observations
Between December 2010 and March 2013, volunteers for the Solar Stormwatch (SSW) Citizen Science project have identified and analyzed coronal mass ejections (CMEs) in the near real-time Solar Terrestrial Relations Observatory Heliospheric Imager observations, in order to make “Fearless Forecasts” of CME arrival times and speeds at Earth. Of the 60 predictions of Earth-directed CMEs, 20 resulted in an identifiable Interplanetary CME (ICME) at Earth within 1.5–6 days, with an average error in predicted transit time of 22 h, and average transit time of 82.3 h. The average error in predicting arrival speed is 151 km s−1, with an average arrival speed of 425km s−1. In the same time period, there were 44 CMEs for which there are no corresponding SSW predictions, and there were 600 days on which there was neither a CME predicted nor observed. A number of metrics show that the SSW predictions do have useful forecast skill; however, there is still much room for improvement. We investigate potential improvements by using SSW inputs in three models of ICME propagation: two of constant acceleration and one of aerodynamic drag. We find that taking account of interplanetary acceleration can improve the average errors of transit time to 19 h and arrival speed to 77 km s−1
New Solutions on LLM Acceleration, Optimization, and Application
Large Language Models (LLMs) have become extremely potent instruments with
exceptional capacities for comprehending and producing human-like text in a
wide range of applications. However, the increasing size and complexity of LLMs
present significant challenges in both training and deployment, leading to
substantial computational and storage costs as well as heightened energy
consumption. In this paper, we provide a review of recent advancements and
research directions aimed at addressing these challenges and enhancing the
efficiency of LLM-based systems. We begin by discussing algorithm-level
acceleration techniques focused on optimizing LLM inference speed and resource
utilization. We also explore LLM-hardware co-design strategies with a vision to
improve system efficiency by tailoring hardware architectures to LLM
requirements. Further, we delve into LLM-to-accelerator compilation approaches,
which involve customizing hardware accelerators for efficient LLM deployment.
Finally, as a case study to leverage LLMs for assisting circuit design, we
examine LLM-aided design methodologies for an important task: High-Level
Synthesis (HLS) functional verification, by creating a new dataset that
contains a large number of buggy and bug-free codes, which can be essential for
training LLMs to specialize on HLS verification and debugging. For each aspect
mentioned above, we begin with a detailed background study, followed by the
presentation of several novel solutions proposed to overcome specific
challenges. We then outline future research directions to drive further
advancements. Through these efforts, we aim to pave the way for more efficient
and scalable deployment of LLMs across a diverse range of applications.Comment: This is an expanded and more comprehensive study based on our invited

A MULTICENTRE, RETROSPECTIVE STUDY OF EPIDEMIOLOGY AND OUTCOME OF APLASTIC ANAEMIA AMONG ADULT POPULATION IN SABAH AND SARAWAK FROM YEAR 2006 TO 2017
Introduction: Aplastic anaemia (AA) is a rare disorder of
bone marrow failure, characterized by bone marrow
hypocellularity with pancytopenia. The annual incidence
rates of AA in Asia are observed to be two to three times
higher than Europe and North America. Since the
introduction of immunosuppressive therapy (IST) and of
allogenic stem cell transplant (SCT), the outcome of severe
AA has significantly improved. We conducted a 12-year
multi-centre retrospective study among the adult AA
population in Sabah and Sarawak.
Materials and methods: A total of 119 AA patients had been
identified from hospital records of the involved sites, namely
Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Sabah, Sarawak General
Hospital, Sibu Hospital, Miri Hospital and Bintulu Hospital in
Sarawak from Jan 2006 to Dec 2017.
Results: The median age at diagnosis was 46 years, and
native ethnic group from Sabah, Kadazan-Dusun, recorded
the highest percentage of 41.2%, which could be explained
by higher frequency of HLA-DRB1*15:01, an alelle linked to
increased risk of AA, among this ethnic group. The majority
of patients (59.7%) received cyclosporine (CsA) as
monotherapy or in combination with other non-IST agents
such as danazol, which was instituted in 52.1% of the
patients, while a third of them (33.7%) received antithymocyte globulin (ATG) therapy with or without CsA, and
12.4% underwent allogenic SCT. The five-year overall
survival (OS) for all AA patients was 76.1%. Elderly patients
>60 years old and those with severe disease had more
inferior 5-year survival.
Conclusion: A prospective study is warranted to determine
the true incidence rate, epidemiological distributions,
treatment outcome and overall survival of AA patients in
Malaysia. Establishment of allogenic SCT in East Malaysia is
imperative to make this curative therapy more accessible to
patients with severe disease and improve the outcome
