Prediction of the anomalous magnetic moment of nucleon from the nucleon anomaly
We construct the effective anomaly lagrangian involving nucleons and photons
by using current-current coupling method. The contribution of this lagrangian
to the anomalous magnetic moment of nucleon is purely isovector. The anomalous
magnetic moment of proton, , can be calculated from the this
lagrangian and it is found to be , which is in
excellent agreement with the experimental value . While
the case of neutron, as compared to
, is less satisfactory, but the sign is correct.Comment: 7 pages,Latex, no figure
MOHIST APPROACH TO THE RULE-FOLLOWING PROBLEM
The Mohist conceives the dao-following issue as how we can put dao in words and speeches into practice. The dao-following issue is the Mohist counterpart of Wittgenstein\u27s rule-following problem. This paper aims to shed light on the rule-following issue in terms of the Mohist answer to the dao-following problem. The early Mohist takes fa(法, standard)and the later Mohist takes lei(類, analogy)as the key to the dao-following issue. I argue that the way of fa is not viable. Fa comes in various forms, but all of them are regarded as being cut off from everyday life and therefore subject to various interpretations and, hence, incapable of action-guiding. On the other hand, the Mohist lei represents a kind of life world action drama. A lei situates various elements of action in the context of an everyday life scene. I argue that lei is more qualified than fa in answering to the dao-following issue. I also show that lei substantializes what McDowell calls the course between a Scylla and a Charybdis hinted in terms of Wittgenstein\u27s idea of custom, practice, and institution in regard to the rule-following problem
Topological Inflation with Large Tensor-to-scalar Ratio
BICEP2's detection on the primordial B-mode of CMB polarization suggests that
inflation occurred around GUT scale, with the tensor-to-scalar ratio r~0.2.
Inspired by this discosvery, we study the topological inflation which was
driven by a double/single/no well potential. We show that with proper choice of
parameters, all these three types of topological inflationary models could be
consistent with the constraints from current observations.Comment: 5 pages, 6 figures, PRD format; v2 typos corrected, references adde
How Precisely Could We Identify WIMPs Model-Independently with Direct Dark Matter Detection Experiments
In this talk we present data analysis methods for reconstructing the mass and
couplings of Weakly Interacting Massive Particles (WIMPs) by using directly
future experimental data (i.e., measured recoil energies) from direct Dark
Matter detection. These methods are independent of the model of Galactic halo
as well as of WIMPs. The basic ideas of these methods and the feasibility and
uncertainties of applying them to direct detection experiments with the next
generation detectors will be discussed.Comment: 14 pages, 8 figures, typos fixed, one conclusion modified, to appear
