El tratamiento de la timidez por medio de la literatura infantil

El presente trabajo tiene la finalidad de abordar la timidez en la infancia por medio de la literatura infantil. En el marco teórico se abordarán la timidez, sus causas y consecuencias en la infancia, así como la importancia del cuento como recurso pedagógico, buscando así fundamentar y justificar una propuesta didáctica. Esta propuesta gira en torno a un libro seleccionado y analizado, que es ¿Por qué enrojecemos como tomates?; y está dirigida al primer ciclo de Educación Primaria. Este trabajo concluye con el valor de trabajar las emociones en la infancia para que sean gestionadas con éxito a lo largo de la vida, además de resaltar la importancia de promover la lectura como herramienta de ayuda y disfrute.This work has the purpose of address the shyness in childhood through children's literature. Système aquaponique pour travailler au niveau méso á l'école maternelle

Con un estilo narrativo un maestro de Educación Infantil cuenta su experiencia con sus ilusiones y dificultades a la hora de aprovechar su afición a la Acuaponia (sistema combinado de cría de peces y plantas) con niños/as de cinco años. La experiencia narra cómo montar el sistema y el potencial didáctico para trabajar los ecosistemas, las relaciones entre lo observable (peces-plantas) y lo microscópico (desechos, bacterias, nitratos) necesarios para el equilibrio del sistema. El análisis del potencial educativo de la Acuaponia no solo se basa en los motivos que le llevaron a utilizar el sistema acuapónico en infantil sino también en cómo compartirlo con otros/as docentes que quieran usarlo.With a narrative techique, a Kindergarten teacher describes his particular experience taking advantages of his hobby of aquaponics (combined system of fish and plant breeding) to develop an innovative teaching instruction with five-year-old children. Both, expectations and successes and failures of this project are exposed in the paper, as well as how to set up the system and its didactic potential to work on the functioning of ecosystems, the relationships between what is observable (fish-plants) and what is not (microscopic things and beings: waste, bacteria, nitrates) necessary for the balance of the system. Potential about aquaponics in education is about why the teacher choosing to use aquaponics in Kindergarten and what advice does he have to others educators who want to begin using educational aquaponics system.En partant de un style narratif le professeur d'éducation préscolaire raconte son expérience avec ses illusions et les difficultés en partageant avec des enfants jusqu'à cinq ans son goût pour l´aquaponique (système combiné de l'élevage de poissons et de plantes). L'expérience montre comment mettre en place le système et le potentiel d'enseignement pour travailler les écosystèmes, les relations entre l'observable (usine de poissons) et microscopiques (déchets, les bactéries, les nitrates) nécessaires pour équilibrer le système. L'analyse du potentiel d´aquaponique est non seulement basée sur les raisons éducatifs qui l'ont amené à utiliser l'enfant du système d´aquaponique, mais aussi comment partager avec d'autres enseignants qui veulent l'utiliser

Educomunicación y noticias científicas en los libros de Ciencias para el Mundo Contemporáneo.

La asignatura Ciencias para el Mundo Contemporáneo contiene finalidades y objetivos ligados al desarrollo de las alfabetizaciones científica y mediática de todos los estudiantes de Bachillerato. En esta materia obligatoria el desarrollo de la competencia científica se plantea desde los conocimientos y habilidades científicos necesarios para comprender, participar y tomar decisiones sobre las controversias sociocientíficas en los medios de comunicación (Educomunicación). En este artículo mostramos un análisis de la presencia, del contenido y del tratamiento de las noticias científicas incluidas en los libros de texto de esta asignatura. Los resultados ponen de manifiesto que sólo cinco editoriales incluyen noticias científicas actuales en sus libros de texto, situándolas en posiciones secundarias y anecdóticas (anexos). El análisis de contenido muestra que el criterio de selección de las noticias científicas se realiza en función de los bloques temáticos y no de la mayor presencia en los medios de comunicación (prensa), así como la mayoría de las noticias son eventos de investigación en vez de catástrofes o eventos políticos, mayoritarios en la prensa. La principal fuente de divulgación científica, es decir, las redes sociales (Twitter, Facebook), están ausentes en los libros de texto. Esto puede generar lejanía con el público receptor, los estudiantes de Bachillerato. Estos análisis contribuyen a reflexionar sobre la oportunidad perdida para la educomunicación de esta asignatura, que tiene sus días contados con la próxima implantación de la LOMCE.Science for contemporary world is a Spanish High School compulsory subject. It contains goals linked to the development of scientific, media and information literacies for all High School students. On this compulsory subject the development of scientific competence arises from the scientific knowledge and skills necessary to understand, to participate and to make decisions about social scientific controversies in the media(Educommunication). In this paper we show presence and content analysis of scientific news included in theSCW-textbooks. The results of this paper show that only five publishers include current science news on their textbooks, placing them on anecdotal positions (annexes). The content analysis shows that the selection criterion of scientific news is performed according to the thematic blocks and not the greater presence in the media. Most of the news selected is related to researches events instead of disasters or politics events, main news in the newspapers. The main source of scientific divulgation through social networks (Twitter, Facebook) is not included on textbooks. It could generate distance to receptor public (High School students) because they use mainly this networks to communicate among themselves. These analyses help us to think about the missed opportunity for Educommunication of this subject, that has a deadline with the upcoming implementation of the LOMCE

Socioscientific issues: topics and importance to the scientific education

Las controversias socio-científicas surgen y nos rodean en los temas más actuales y emergentes de nuestra sociedad: transgénicos, homeopatía, impacto de las telefonías, etc. Por eso creemos importante exponer en qué consiste una controversia socio-científica, estudiar la relación entre las temáticas de controversias que aparecen en prensa y en la literatura didáctica así como si es posible el uso de estas controversias en el contexto escolar. La imagen consensuada con la que suelen aparecer las noticias científicas en los medios de comunicación va a dificultar su utilización en el aula. Del análisis documental de la literatura didáctica, hemos podido seleccionar actividades que utilizan controversias y que pueden ser usadas como modelo para utilizar las controversias en el aula de ciencias y desarrollar distintas finalidades en el alumnado: alfabetización científica, pensamiento crítico, fomento de la cultura científica, etc.Socioscientific debates arise and become widespread concerning the most popular and innovative issues in our society: transgenics, homeopathy, the impact of mobile phone network and so on. For this reason we believe it is important to analyse the meaning of these debates and the relationship between information processing in newspapers and teaching literature and to determine their possible use in a school context. The common image of scientific news that tends to appear in the media hampers its use in the classroom. On analysing didactic literature, we have selected activities that can be used as a model to plan debates in the science classroom with the objective of developing a series of capacities in students related to scientific literacy, critical thinking and the promotion of a scientific culture

Les difícils relacions entre científics i periodistes per entendre's mútuament serveixen de punt de partida per construir una «divulgació química» que es transformi en una «comunicació científica com a procés educatiu», problematitzada i que posi en conflicte els mites, creences o concepcions alternatives de la societat, escolar o no. Les notícies sobre depuració d'aigua ens permeten transformar el consens en controvèrsia i reflexionar sobre les implicacions per a periodistes i docents.The mutual misunderstandings between scientists and journalists serve as a starting point to build a «chemical divulgation» which was transformed into a «science communication as an educational process», problematized conflicts myths, beliefs or alternative conceptions of society, be they scholarly or not. Donor selection for allogenic hemopoietic stem cell transplantation: clinical and ethical considerations

Allogenic hematopoietic progenitor cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) is an established treatment for many diseases. Stem cells may be obtained from different sources: mobilized peripheral blood stem cells, bone marrow, and umbilical cord blood. The progress in transplantation procedures, the establishment of experienced transplant centres, and the creation of unrelated adult donor registries and cord blood banks gave those without an human leucocyte antigen- (HLA-) identical sibling donor the opportunity to find a donor and cord blood units worldwide. HSCT imposes operative cautions so that the entire donation/transplantation procedure is safe for both donors and recipients; it carries with it significant clinical, moral, and ethical concerns, mostly when donors are minors. The following points have been stressed: the donation should be excluded when excessive risks for the donor are reasonable, donors must receive an accurate information regarding eventual adverse events and health burden for the donors themselves, a valid consent is required, and the recipient’s risks must be outweighed by the expected benefits. The issue of conflict of interest, when the same physician has the responsibility for both donor selection and recipient care, is highlighted as well as the need of an adequate insurance protection for all the parties involved

La neutralización ácido-base a debate

La neutralización es un término que puede tener distintos significados según nos situemos en un contexto físico, químico o cotidiano. Esta polisemia también aparece en el ámbito de los procesos ácido-base y parece ser el origen de algunas concepciones alternativas diagnosticadas en los estudiantes de secundaria y universidad. En este trabajo estudiamos los aspectos etimológicos, epistemológicos y didácticos de la neutralización ácido-base para fundamentar unas propuestas de enseñanza que faciliten el aprendizaje de este concepto y eviten inducir algunas de dichas concepciones alternativas.The different meaning of neutralization depends of the context: Physics, Chemistry or Daily-Life context. Three definitions of neutralization were contemplated referring to the acid-base processes and it seems to be the origin of the alternative conceptions secondary school and university students have. The aim of this paper has been to identify the etymological, epistemological and educational aspects of acid-base neutralization to proposed teaching strategies to help students with their difficulties in this concept
