    Geometric, aerodynamic flow field, performance prediction, and heat transfer analyses are considered for two advanced chamber nozzle concepts applicable to Earth-to-orbit engine systems. Topics covered include improvements to the dual throat aerodynamic and performance prediction program; geometric and flow field analyses of the dual expander concept; heat transfer analysis of both concepts, and engineering analysis of data from the NASA/MSFC hot-fire testing of a dual throat thruster model thrust chamber assembly. Preliminary results obtained are presented in graphs

    Swirl coaxial injector element characterization for booster engines

    Recent hot fire testing at the Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) has indicated the swirl-coaxial element to be a viable candidate for the STBE injector. Plans are to test the current 40K lbf thrust injector at the higher chamber pressure and colder fuel temperature which are anticipated for STBE. A cold flow program to characterize the swirl coax element over a range of operating points was conducted. The results are presented and compared to the hot fire data. Predictions for compatibility, performance and stability are then presented for the uprated test conditions

The core issue was whether China's measures that resulted in there being only one dominant supplier of electronic payment services (EPS) in China violated the specific commitments made by China under the GATS. The panel ruled that the measures did not violate China's market access commitments because there were no explicit limitations on the entry of foreign suppliers, but that the measures were inconsistent with China's national treatment commitments in that they modified the conditions of competition in favour of domestic suppliers. This case illustrates the complexity in interpreting WTO Members’ commitments under the GATS

    A polarizable interatomic force field for TiO2_2 parameterized using density functional theory

    We report a classical interatomic force field for TiO2_2, which has been parameterized using density functional theory forces, energies, and stresses in the rutile crystal structure. The reliability of this new classical potential is tested by evaluating the structural properties, equation of state, phonon properties, thermal expansion, and some thermodynamic quantities such as entropy, free energy, and specific heat under constant volume. The good agreement of our results with {\em ab initio} calculations and with experimental data, indicates that our force-field describes the atomic interactions of TiO2_2 in the rutile structure very well. The force field can also describe the structures of the brookite and anatase crystals with good accuracy.Comment: Accepted for publication in Phys. Rev.     Boulder City (City) is unique in the State of Nevada as being a non-gaming city, maintaining a controlled growth ordinance, and steadfastly holding to its “small town” values and character. The City has been facing budgetary challenges as future expenditures are anticipated to continually exceed revenues if current services levels are maintained. Indeed, fiscal reviews indicate the City has been transferring contingency monies between funds to cover overages for the past several fiscal years. This “robbing Peter to pay Paul” methodology may offer a temporary solution to the shortage but may be detrimental as a long term solution

    Phase Transition Study of Superconducting Microstructures

    The presented results are part of a feasibility study of superheated superconducting microstructure detectors. The microstructures (dots) were fabricated using thin film patterning techniques with diameters ranging from 50μ50\mum up to 500μ500\mum and thickness of 1μ1\mum. We used arrays and single dots to study the dynamics of the superheating and supercooling phase transitions in a magnetic field parallel to the dot surface. The phase transi- tions were produced by either varying the applied magnetic field strength at a constant temperature or changing the bath temperature at a constant field.
