    The dominant of Bloggers in Malaysian politics through social networks

    Every country in this world has own political issues. In Malaysia for example, political issues played an important role that can influence other factors such as social and economy. As we all know, political factor can give positive and negative effect to a situation in Malaysia. The frequent usage of computer nowadays by Malaysian people helps in spreading information and news about political situation in Malaysia through cyberspace. In this paper, we use web mining system with Artificial Immune System (AIS) to regain a small group of relevant websites and webpages on political issues in Malaysia. To analyze the relationship between website and webpages, the concept of social networks will be used. Result from the web mining system with AIS will be used to understand the impact of social network to the political situation in Malaysia

    Design and Fabrication of Coplanar YBCO Structures on Lithium Niobate Substrates

    YBa2Cu3O7-δ (YBCO) with low RF losses has been successfully deposited onto lithium niobate (LNO) to improve the performance of electrooptic Mach-Zender modulators. Epitaxial, c-axis oriented superconducting YBCO thin films have been grown on X-cut LNO single crystals with a yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) buffer layer by RF magnetron sputtering. This buffer layer is needed to obtain good superconducting properties of the YBCO grown. Numerical tools have been developed to analyze CPW structures based on YBCO/YSZ/LNO trilayers, and they indicate that YSZ thickness has to be kept to the minimum necessary for good YBCO growth. With this restriction, the RF losses of YBCO/YSZ/LNO samples have been measured. The results from these measurements are used to quantify the performance enhancement in a Mach-Zender modulator using YBCO electrodes

There has been many developments by the different manufactures improving the reliability and durability of the cements used with the fiber posts.Objectives: Measure the bond strength of cement with the push-out test in different root thirds (cervical, middle and apical) at 24h and at 6 months with and without restoration and with different cements.

    Structure and activity of lacustrine sediment bacteria involved in nutrient and iron cycles

    Knowledge about the bacterial community structure in sediments is essential to better design restoration strategies for eutrophied lakes. In that regard, the aim of this study was to quantify the abundance and activity of bacteria involved in nutrient and iron cycling in sediments from four Azorean lakes with distinct trophic states (Verde, Azul, Furnas and Fogo). Inferred from quantitative PCR, bacteria performing anaerobic ammonia oxidation, were the most abundant in the eutrophic lakes Verde, Azul and Furnas (4.5 % to 16.6 %), followed by nitrifying bacteria (0.8 % to 13.0 %), denitrifying bacteria (0.5 % to 6.8 %), iron-reducing bacteria (0.2 % to 1.4 %), and phosphorus-accumulating organisms (<0.3 %). In contrast, denitrifying bacteria dominated sediments from the oligo-mesotrophic lake Fogo (8.8 %). Activity assays suggested that bacteria performing ammonia oxidation (aerobic and anaerobic), nitrite oxidation, heterothrophic nitrate reduction, iron reduction and biological phosphorus storage/release were present and active in all Azorean lake sediments.     Conceptual model for cloud ERP adoption for SMEs

    The Small and Medium Enterprise industry is experiencing a major transformation towards cloud ERP systems. These systems can organize, and maintain data remotely, accept a pay-as-you- use method and enhance related information through a cloud computing platform. Hence, this makes the cloud ERP system crucial for their sustainability and enables them to become competitive in the market. However, the adoption rate of cloud ERP among Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) has been recorded as slightly low compared to other enterprise systems like Customer Relationship Management. This could be attributed to unclear adoption factors among SMEs and the lack of a theoretical model that can enhance the predictive power to adopt a cloud ERP system. To address this gap, the objective of this study is to develop a conceptual model by which to investigate the broad factors which influence or inhibit the adoption of cloud ERP, the model based on TOE, DOI and FVM. Thus, this model intends to help SMEs managers understand and increase predictive capacity on cloud ERP adoption. The model has been constructed using four dimensions, namely; task, technology, organization and environmental. Findings from this study are projected to be able to instruct SMEs decision-makers on the factors that will lead to successful adoption. The proposed model will be a critical lens for decision-makers on cloud ERP adoption

    Phosphorus–iron interaction in sediments : can an electrode minimize phosphorus release from sediments?

    All restoration strategies to mitigate eutrophication depend on the success of phosphorus (P) removal from the water body. Therefore, the inputs from the watershed and from the enriched sediments, that were the sink of most P that has been discharged in the water body, should be controlled. In sediments, iron (hydr)oxides minerals are potent repositories of P and the release of P into the water column may occur upon dissolution of the iron (hydr)oxides mediated by iron reducing bacteria. Several species of these bacteria are also known as electroactive microorganisms and have been recently identified in lake sediments. This capacity of bacteria to transfer electrons to electrodes, producing electricity from the oxidation of organic matter, might play a role on P release in sediments. In the present work it is discussed the relationship between phosphorus and iron cycling as well as the application of an electrode to work as external electron acceptor in sediments, in order to prevent metal bound P dissolution under anoxic conditions.The authors are grateful to two anonymous reviewers of a previous version of the manuscript for the constructive comments and suggestions.     New Mononuclear and Binuclear Cu(II), Co(II), Ni(II), and Zn(II) Thiosemicarbazone Complexes with Potential Biological Activity: Antimicrobial and Molecular Docking Study

    Herein, we report the synthesis of eight new mononuclear and binuclear Co2+, Ni2+, Cu2+, and Zn2+ methoxy thiosemicarbazone (MTSC) complexes aiming at obtaining thiosemicarbazone complex with potent biological activity. The structure of the MTSC ligand and its metal complexes was fully characterized by elemental analysis, spectroscopic techniques (NMR, FTIR, UV-Vis), molar conductivity, thermogravimetric analysis (TG), and thermal differential analysis (DrTGA). The spectral and analytical data revealed that the obtained thiosemicarbazone-metal complexes have octahedral geometry around the metal center, except for the Zn2+-thiosemicarbazone complexes, which showed a tetrahedral geometry. The antibacterial and antifungal activities of the MTSC ligand and its (Co2+, Ni2+, Cu2+, and Zn2+) metal complexes were also investigated. Interestingly, the antibacterial activity of MTSC- metal complexes against examined bacteria was higher than that of the MTSC alone, which indicates that metal complexation improved the antibacterial activity of the parent ligand. Among different metal complexes, the MTSC- mono- and binuclear Cu2+ complexes showed significant antibacterial activity against Bacillus subtilis and Proteus vulgaris, better than that of the standard gentamycin drug. The in silico molecular docking study has revealed that the MTSC ligand could be a potential inhibitor for the oxidoreductase protein.Taif UniversityPeer Reviewe
