A Feature-Augmented Grammar for Automated Media Production
The IST Polymnia project is creating a fully automated system for personalised video generation, including content creation, selection and composition. This paper presents a linguistically motivated solution using context-free feature-augmented grammar rules to describe editing tasks and hence automate video editing. The solution is media and application independent
The clinical utility of routine urinalysis in pregnancy: A prospective study
Objectives: To determine whether routine urinalysis in the antenatal period facilitates diagnosis of pre-eclampsia. Can routine urinalysis during pregnancy be discontinue in women with normal results of dipstick urinalysis and microscopy at the first antenatal visit? Design: Prospective observational study. Setting: A metropolitan public hospital and a private hospital in Sydney (NSW). Participants: One thousand women were enrolled at their first antenatal visit (March to November 1999), and 913 completed the study. Outcome measures: The primary outcome was a diagnosis of de novo hypertension (gestational hypertension, pre-eclampasia, or pre-eclampsia superimposed on chronic hypertension). Results: Thirty-five women had dipstick proteinuria at the first antenatal visit. In 25 (71%) of these women, further dipstick proteinuria was detected during pregnancy, and two (6%) were diagnosed with pre-eclampsia. Of the 867 without dipstick proteinuria at the first visit, 338 (39%) had dipstick proteinuria (> 1+) at some time during pregnancy. There were no statistically significant differences in the proportion of women with and without dipstick proteinuria at their first visit who developed hypertension during pregnancy. Only six women developed proteinuria before the onset of hypertension. Women who had an abnormal result of a midstream urine test at their first visit, compared with women with a normal result, were more likely to have a urinary tract infection diagnosed during pregnancy; however, the numbers were small. Conclusion: In the absence of hypertension, routine urinalysis during pregnancy is a poor predictor of pre-eclampsia. Therefore, after an initial screening urinalysis, routine urinalysis could be eliminated from antenatal care without adverse outcomes for women
Analysis of heat flows in the eddy current wind generator
In the paper are presented the results of the analysis of heat flows in the wind generator with permanent magnets and. SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation software was used to determine the circulation and heat transfer and determine the quantitative relations of heat exchange through the thermogenerator at the variation of the heat transfer liquid flow rate from 10 to 3500 l/h. The obtained results will serve for the design of new thermal generators with permanent magnets for domestic hot water preparation systems using wind energy
Effect of acute copper sulfate exposure on olfactory responses to amino acids and pheromones in goldfish (Carassius auratus)
Exposure of olfactory epithelium to environmentally relevant concentrations of copper disrupts olfaction in fish. To examine
the dynamics of recovery at both functional and morphological levels after acute copper exposure, unilateral exposure of goldfish olfactory epithelia to 100 μM CuSO4 (10 min) was followed by electro-olfactogram (EOG) recording and scanning electron microscopy. Sensitivity to amino acids (L-arginine
and L-serine), generally considered food-related odorants, recovered most rapidly (three days), followed by that to
catecholamines(3-O-methoxytyramine),bileacids(taurolithocholic acid) and the steroid pheromone, 17,20 -dihydroxy-4-pregnen-
3-one 20-sulfate, which took 28 days to reach full recovery. Sensitivity to the postovulatory pheromone prostaglandin F2R had
not fully recovered even at 28 days. These changes in sensitivity were correlated with changes in the recovery of ciliated and microvillous receptor cell types. Microvillous cells appeared largely unaffected by CuSO4 treatment. Cilia in
ciliated receptor neurones, however, appeared damaged one day post-treatment and were virtually absent after three days but
had begun to recover after 14 days. Together, these results support the hypothesis that microvillous receptor neurones detect amino acids whereas ciliated receptor neurones were not functional and are responsible for detection of social stimuli (bile acidsandpheromones).Furthermore, differences in sensitivity to copper may be due to different transduction pathways in
the different cell types
ПОНЯТТЯ «КОНЦЕПТ» У ПАРАДИГМІ НАУКОВИХ ЗНАНЬ
The question of the typology of concepts was one of the most controversial at the time of the formation of linguoconceptology. It coincided with the search for the defi nition of the essence of the concept, its specifi cs. It should be noted that even today the question of the typology of concepts is not completely resolved, because each approach in the fi eld of philological science is trying to offer its own vision of this problem. The article attempts to systematize and generalize different views on the typology of concepts.
Study of the Circulation of Heat Transfer Fluid in the Permanent Magnets Thermo-Generator
Access full text - https://doi.org/10.1109/SIELMEN53755.2021.9600357The variation of the heat transfer fluid temperature in the permanent magnet thermogenerator was studied. SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation software is used for the simulations and the dependence of the liquid temperature in the discharge line of the thermogenerator has been determined as a function of the flow at an imposed temperature of the internal and external sleeves of the thermogenerator of 60° C. Based on the simulation results, the characteristics for various construction models were analyzed in order to streamline the conversion of wind energy into heat
Establishment of Neural Networks Robust to Label Noise
Label noise is a significant obstacle in deep learning model training. It can
have a considerable impact on the performance of image classification models,
particularly deep neural networks, which are especially susceptible because
they have a strong propensity to memorise noisy labels. In this paper, we have
examined the fundamental concept underlying related label noise approaches. A
transition matrix estimator has been created, and its effectiveness against the
actual transition matrix has been demonstrated. In addition, we examined the
label noise robustness of two convolutional neural network classifiers with
LeNet and AlexNet designs. The two FashionMINIST datasets have revealed the
robustness of both models. We are not efficiently able to demonstrate the
influence of the transition matrix noise correction on robustness enhancements
due to our inability to correctly tune the complex convolutional neural network
model due to time and computing resource constraints. There is a need for
additional effort to fine-tune the neural network model and explore the
precision of the estimated transition model in future research.Comment: 11 pages, 7 figure
