The Noncommutative Harmonic Oscillator based in Simplectic Representation of Galilei Group
In this work we study symplectic unitary representations for the Galilei
group. As a consequence the Schr\"odinger equation is derived in phase space.
The formalism is based on the non-commutative structure of the star-product,
and using the group theory approach as a guide a physical consistent theory in
phase space is constructed. The state is described by a quasi-probability
amplitude that is in association with the Wigner function. The 3D harmonic
oscillator and the noncommutative oscillator are studied in phase space as an
application, and the Wigner function associated to both cases are determined.Comment: 7 pages,no figure
Multi-messenger observations of a binary neutron star merger
On 2017 August 17 a binary neutron star coalescence candidate (later designated GW170817) with merger time 12:41:04 UTC was observed through gravitational waves by the Advanced LIGO and Advanced Virgo detectors. The Fermi Gamma-ray Burst Monitor independently detected a gamma-ray burst (GRB 170817A) with a time delay of ~1.7 s with respect to the merger time. From the gravitational-wave signal, the source was initially localized to a sky region of 31 deg2 at a luminosity distance of 40+8-8 Mpc and with component masses consistent with neutron stars. The component masses were later measured to be in the range 0.86 to 2.26 Mo. An extensive observing campaign was launched across the electromagnetic spectrum leading to the discovery of a bright optical transient (SSS17a, now with the IAU identification of AT 2017gfo) in NGC 4993 (at ~40 Mpc) less than 11 hours after the merger by the One- Meter, Two Hemisphere (1M2H) team using the 1 m Swope Telescope. The optical transient was independently detected by multiple teams within an hour. Subsequent observations targeted the object and its environment. Early ultraviolet observations revealed a blue transient that faded within 48 hours. Optical and infrared observations showed a redward evolution over ~10 days. Following early non-detections, X-ray and radio emission were discovered at the transient’s position ~9 and ~16 days, respectively, after the merger. Both the X-ray and radio emission likely arise from a physical process that is distinct from the one that generates the UV/optical/near-infrared emission. No ultra-high-energy gamma-rays and no neutrino candidates consistent with the source were found in follow-up searches. These observations support the hypothesis that GW170817 was produced by the merger of two neutron stars in NGC4993 followed by a short gamma-ray burst (GRB 170817A) and a kilonova/macronova powered by the radioactive decay of r-process nuclei synthesized in the ejecta
Análise do ruído e intervenção fonoaudiológica em ambiente escolar: rede privada e pública de ensino regular
Objetivo : mensurar os níveis de ruído, durante o ano letivo, em duas salas de aula do 1º ano do Ensino Fundamental, sendo uma da rede privada de ensino e outra da rede pública, frequentadas por alunos deficientes auditivos usuários de implante coclear; analisar se os níveis de ruídos encontrados estão de acordo com a Norma Brasileira, NBR 10.152 da ABNT (1990), e discutir com a equipe escolar estratégias que minimizem o impacto do ruído, na aprendizagem dos alunos deficientes auditivos.Métodos : foram realizadas oito mensurações do nível de ruído, empregando um dosímetro, modelo 1444, em cada sala de aula, sendo uma sala da rede privada e outra da rede pública de ensino. Concomitantemente às mensurações de ruído, foram feitas reuniões com os professores e gestores.Resultados : verificou-se que os níveis de ruído presente na rede pública variaram entre 74,3 e 79 dB (A) e que, na rede privada, os níveis de ruído variaram entre 76,1 e 80,9 dB (A). Também foram realizadas 8 reuniões em cada escola.Conclusão : diante dos dados, notaram-se elevados índices de ruído em ambiente escolar, não ocorrendo diferenças estatísticas entre as redes pública e privada de ensino regular. Com relação às reuniões mensais, foi possível observar que os educadores adotaram estratégias que auxiliam a comunicação no ambiente escolar. É evidente a necessidade da aquisição de recurso tecnológico de acessibilidade para alunos deficientes auditivos que utilizam a comunicação oral, o sistema de frequência modulada
Longitudinal study of habits leading to malocclusion development in childhood
Background: The increased prevalence of malocclusions represents a secular trend attributed to the interaction of genetic and environmental factors. The analysis of factors related to the causes of these changes is essential for planning public health policies aimed at preventing and clinically intercepting malocclusion. This study investigated the sucking habits, nocturnal mouth breathing, as well as the relation of these factors with malocclusion.Methods: This is a longitudinal study in which 80 mother-child pairs were monitored from the beginning of pregnancy to the 30th month after childbirth. Home visits for interviews with the mothers were made on the 12th, 18th and 30th months of age. Finger sucking, pacifier sucking, bottle feeding, breastfeeding and nocturnal mouth breathing, were the variables studies. On the 30th month, clinical examinations were performed for overjet, overbite and posterior crossbite. A previously calibrated single examiner (Kappa coefficient = 0.92) was responsible for all examinations. Data were analyzed using the chi-squared or Fisher's exact tests, at a significance level of 5%.Results: Bottle feeding was the most prevalent habit at 12, 18 and 30 months (87.5%; 90% and 96.25%, respectively). Breastfeeding was 40%, 25% and 12.50% at 12, 18 and 30 months, respectively. Nearly 70% of the children in this study had some sort of malocclusion. Pacifier sucking habit at 12, 18 and 30 months of age was associated with overjet and open bite; and at 30 months, an association with overbite was also observed. Finger sucking habit and breastfeeding at 12, 18 and 30 months were also associated with overjet and open bite. Bacterial laccases: some recent advances and applications
Laccases belong to the large family of multi-copper oxidases (MCOs) that couple the one-electron oxidation of substrates with the four-electron reduction of molecular oxygen to water. Because of their high relative non-specific oxidation capacity particularly on phenols and aromatic amines as well as the lack of requirement for expensive organic cofactors, they have found application in a large number of biotechnological fields. The vast majority of studies and applications were performed using fungal laccases, but bacterial laccases show interesting properties such as optimal temperature above 50 °C, optimal pH at the neutral to alkaline range, thermal and chemical stability and increased salt tolerance. Additionally, bacterial systems benefit from a wide range of molecular biology tools that facilitates their engineering and achievement of high yields of protein production and set-up of cost-effective bioprocesses. In this review we will provide up-to-date information on the distribution and putative physiological role of bacterial laccases and highlight their distinctive structural and biochemical properties, discuss the key role of copper in the biochemical properties, discuss thermostability determinants and, finally, review biotechnological applications with a focus on catalytic mechanisms on phenolics and aromatic amines.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
Nursing diagnoses for the elderly using the International Classification for Nursing Practice and the activities of living model
OBJECTIVE: To develop nursing diagnosis statements for the elderly based on the Activities of Living Model and on the International Classification for Nursing Practice. METHOD: Descriptive and exploratory study, put in practice in two stages: 1) collection of terms and concepts that are considered clinically and culturally relevant for nursing care delivered to the elderly, in order to develop a database of terms and 2) development of nursing diagnosis statements for the elderly in primary health care, based on the guidelines of the International Council of Nurses and on the database of terms for nursing practice involving the elderly. RESULTS: 414 terms were identified and submitted to the content validation process, with the participation of ten nursing experts, which resulted in 263 validated terms. These terms were submitted to cross mapping with the terms of the International Classification for Nursing Practice, resulting in the identification of 115 listed terms and 148 non-listed terms, which constituted the database of terms, from which 127 nursing diagnosis statements were prepared and classified into factors that affect the performance of the elderly's activities of living - 69 into biological factors, 19 into psychological, 31 into sociocultural, five into environmental, and three into political-economic factors. CONCLUSIONS: After clinical validation, these statements can serve as a guide for nursing consultations with elderly patients, without ignoring clinical experience, critical thinking and decision-making
