MOCVD Grown HgCdTe Heterostructures
HgCdTe heterostructures are widely applied for IR (infrared) detector constructing. Donor‐ and acceptor‐doping researches in (100) and (111) oriented HgCdTe layers grown by MOCVD have been studied. Fully doped HgCdTe heterostructures with acceptor concentration range between 1014 and 5 × 1017 cm-3 and donor concentration range between 1014 and 1 × 1018 cm-3 and without post‐grown annealing have been reported. The electrical and chemical characterizations of HgCdTe structures grown at 360°C on GaAs substrates using DIPTe have been described. Infrared photodiodes with different composition x were constructing on the basis of obtained heterostructures enabling signal detection of any wavelength from 1 µm to above 20 µm covering SWIR, MWIR and LWIR spectral ranges. Presented experimental results show that MOCVD technology enables to grow HgCdTe structures dedicated for HOT devices
Fish community relationships with hydrological and landscape characteristics in Iowa rivers and streams
Stream fish communities are known to be affected by hydrological, physical-chemical, and landscape-level characteristics. Relationships of these characteristics with fish communities in Iowa rivers and streams were examined. Iowa's landscape is currently dominated by agriculture, with little of the native prairie-marsh-pothole complex remaining. Extensive row cropping, stream-side grazing, channelization, drainage tiling, and introduction of exotic species have altered the streams and their fish communities. Analysis of Iowa land use revealed few substantive differences at the landform or catchment-wide level. More pronounced land use differences were seen in channel buffers adjacent to streams. Twelve measures of hydrological variability and predictability were used to characterize flow in Iowa streams.
Streams in Iowa were found, on average, to be more variable, less predictable and relatively harsh when compared to an inventory of streams across the USA. No evidence of aggregation of fish communities by landforms or catchments was found. Several weak relationships between various species or functional groupings of the fish community with environmental variables were seen. Abundance of channel catfish and top carnivores were positively correlated with stream size. Top carnivores and gamefish were positively correlated with forests and wetlands near the stream channel. Although weak, these relationships confirm similar relationships in previous studies. Cluster analysis was used to group streams based on similarities in functional attributes of the fish community.
Canonical discriminant analysis successfully discriminated among these groups using, hydrological measures of variability and predictability, suggesting a relationship of fish community organization and hydrological regime. Overall, results suggest that the climate and uniformly highly altered landscape of Iowa results in relatively harsh hydrological conditions for stream fish. This, along with the resulting landscape homogeneity apparently results in fish communities lacking many of the strong structural patterns and environmental relationships evident in studies conducted in more pristine or heterogeneous settings
Interplay between the static ordering and dynamical heterogeneities determining the dynamics of rotation and ordinary liquid phases in 1,6-anhydro-β-D-glucose
In this letter, we reported thorough the structural and molecular dynamics studies on 1,6-Anhydro-β-D-glucose, the second compound reported so far that is capable to form rotator and supercooled liquid phases. In contrast to the data presented for ethanol, temperature dependences of structural dynamics in both phases are very comparable. On the other hand, X ray measurements revealed unusually long range ordering/correlations between molecules in the ODIC (d â ‰ 95 Å) and supercooled phases (d â ‰ 30-40 Å) of this carbohydrate. Our consideration clearly demonstrated that the interplay between length scales of static range ordering and dynamical heterogeneities as well as internal molecular arrangement seem to be the key to understanding the molecular dynamics of different materials characterized by varying degree of disorder in the vicinity of the glass transition temperature
Wstępne, jednoośrodkowe doświadczenia zabiegów przezskórnej angioplastyki restenozy w stentach oraz niedoprężonych stentów implantowanych do tętnic wieńcowych z wykorzystaniem aterektomii laserowej (ELCA)
Preliminary results of the treatment of 14 patients with laser aterectomy have been presented in this paper. The main indications for coronary laser aterectomy were: long, critical in stent restenotic lesions, undeployed stents or chronic total occlusions of the coronary arteries. One patient had a subacute in stent thrombosis 5 days after drug eluting stent implantation and in 6-month follow-up another patient had in stent restenosis.W artykule przedstawiono wstępne wyniki leczenia 14 pacjentów z użyciem aterektomii laserowej. Głównymi wskazaniami do zabiegu wieńcowej aterektomii laserowej były długie, krytyczne nawroty zwężenia w stentach, niedoprężone stenty lub przewlekłe okluzje tętnic wieńcowych. U jednego pacjenta wystąpiła podostra zakrzepica w stencie powlekanym cytostatykiem w 5. dobie, a w obserwacji 6-miesięcznej u kolejnego pacjenta doszło do nawrotu zwężenia
