Discussion on "AC Drive Observability Analysis"

In the paper by Vaclavek et al. (IEEE Trans. Ind. Electron., vol. 60, no. 8, pp. 3047-3059, Aug. 2013), the local observability of both induction machine and permanent-magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) under motion-sensorless operation is studied. In this letter, the "slowly varying" speed assumption is discussed, and the PMSM observability condition at standstill is revisited

Local weak observability conditions of sensorless AC drives

    Get PDF
Alternating current (AC) electrical drive control without mechanical sensors is an active research topic. This paper studies the observability of both induction machine and synchronous machine sensorless drives. Observer-based sensorless techniques are known for their deteriorated performance in some operating conditions. An observability analysis of the machines helps understanding (and improving) the observer's behavior in the aforementioned conditions.Comment: arXiv admin note: text overlap with arXiv:1512.0366

Observability analysis of sensorless synchronous machine drives

    Get PDF
This paper studies the local observability of synchronous machines using a unified approach. Recently, motion sensorless control of electrical drives has gained high interest. The main challenge for such a technology is the poor performance in some operation conditions. One interesting theory that helps understanding the origin of this problem is the observability analysis of nonlinear systems. In this paper, the observability of the wound-rotor synchronous machine is studied. The results are extended to other synchronous machines, adopting a unified analysis. Furthermore, a high-frequency injection-based technique is proposed to enhance the sensorless operation of the wound-rotor synchronous machine at standstill

In this article, we will try to explain how the myth of the Androgynous appears in Taos Amrouche's novel “L’amant imaginaire” and what she seeks to live and show through this fantasy. We are looking for the reasons that systematically lead the characters of Amrouche to exceed the measure by a writing of excess, without taboos or borders. Finally, we will see the way in which the various allusions to feminism and feminine desire(s) are constructed together in the author’s writings without excluding her need of men

Estudio piloto.

    Get PDF

FPGA-base object tracking: integrating deep learning and sensor fusion with Kalman filter

    Get PDF
This research presents an integrated approach for object detection and tracking in autonomous perception systems, combining deep learning techniques for object detection with sensor fusion and field programmable gate array (FPGA-based) hardware implementation of the Kalman filter. This approach is suitable for applications like autonomous vehicles, robotics, and augmented reality. The study explores the seamless integration of pre-trained deep learning models, sensor data from a depth camera, real-sense D435, and FPGA-based Kalman filtering to achieve robust and accurate 3D position and 2D size estimation of tracked objects while maintaining low latency. The object detection and feature extraction are implemented on a central processing unit (CPU), and the Kalman filter sensor fusion with universal asynchronous receiver transmitter (UART) communication is implemented on a Basys 3 FPGA board that performs 8 times faster compared to the software approach. The experimental result provides the hardware resource utilization of about 29% of look-up tables, 6% of lookup table RAMs (LUTRAM), 15% of Flip-flops, 32% of Block-RAM, 38% of DSP blocks operating at 100 MHz, and 230400 baud rates for the UART. The whole FPGA design executes at 2.1 milliseconds, the Kalman filter executes at 240 microseconds, and the UART at 1.86 milliseconds

RT-PCR-based assessment of the SD Bioline Rota/Adeno Antigen-based test in infants with and without diarrhea

Background: Rotavirus A (RVA) infections remain a major cause of severe acute diarrhea affecting children worldwide. To date, rapid diagnostic tests (RDT) are widely used to detect RVA. However, paediatricians question whether the RDT can still detect the virus accurately. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the performance of the rapid rotavirus test in comparison to the one-step RT-qPCR method. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in Lambaréné, Gabon, from April 2018 to November 2019. Stool samples were collected from children under 5 years of age with diarrhoea or a history of diarrhoea within the last 24 h, and from asymptomatic children from the same communities. All stool samples were processed and analysed using the SD BIOLINE Rota/Adeno Ag RDT against a quantitative reverse transcription PCR (RT-qPCR), which is considered the gold standard. Results: For a total of 218 collected stool samples, the overall sensitivity of the RDT was 46.46% (confidence interval (CI) 36.38–56.77), with a specificity of 96.64% (CI 91.62–99.08) compared to one-step RT-qPCR. After confirming the presence or absence of RVA gastroenteritis, the RDT showed suitable results in detecting rotavirus A-associated disease, with a 91% concordance with the RT-qPCR. Furthermore, the performance of this test varied when correlated with seasonality, symptoms, and rotavirus genotype. Conclusion: This RDT showed high sensitivity and was suitable for the detection of RVA in patients with RVA gastroenteritis, although some asymptomatic RVA shedding was missed by RT-qPCR. It could be a useful diagnostic tool, especially in low-income countries.Peer Reviewe
