    Query Expansion of Zero-Hit Subject Searches: Using a Thesaurus in Conjunction with NLP Techniques

    The focus of our study is zero-hit queries in keyword subject searches and the effort of increasing recall in these cases by reformulating and, then, expanding the initial queries using an external source of knowledge, namely a thesaurus. To this end, the objectives of this study are twofold. First, we perform the mapping of query terms to the thesaurus terms. Second, we use the matched terms to expand the user’s initial query by taking advantage of the thesaurus relations and implementing natural language processing (NLP) techniques. We report on the overall procedure and elaborate on key points and considerations of each step of the process

    A strategy that retail businesspeople can use to win the competition is by applying the right retail mix strategy. Elements of the retail mix can be combined and combined in such a way as to satisfy and retain existing customers. The purpose of this research is to explain the influence of retail mix simultaneously and partially to customer satisfaction at Foodmart Primo Lippo Mall Kuta. The research subjects were all Foodmart Primo Lippo Mall customers in Kuta, with a sample of 115 people. Determination of sample using purposive sampling method, that is sample determination technique with certain consideration. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis technique. The results showed that the retail mix (price, merchandise, promotion, service, store location, and store atmosphere) simultaneously and partially significant effect on customer satisfaction at Foodmart Primo Lippo Mall Kuta. This has the meaning that the better the application of the retail mix at Foodmart Primo Lippo Mall Kuta then the increase also the level of customer satisfaction

    Early Interferon-γ Production in Human Lymphocyte Subsets in Response to Nontyphoidal Salmonella Demonstrates Inherent Capacity in Innate Cells

    Background Nontyphoidal Salmonellae frequently cause life-threatening bacteremia in sub-Saharan Africa. Young children and HIV-infected adults are particularly susceptible. High case-fatality rates and increasing antibiotic resistance require new approaches to the management of this disease. Impaired cellular immunity caused by defects in the T helper 1 pathway lead to intracellular disease with Salmonella that can be countered by IFNγ administration. This report identifies the lymphocyte subsets that produce IFNγ early in Salmonella infection. Methodology Intracellular cytokine staining was used to identify IFNγ production in blood lymphocyte subsets of ten healthy adults with antibodies to Salmonella (as evidence of immunity to Salmonella), in response to stimulation with live and heat-killed preparations of the D23580 invasive African isolate of Salmonella Typhimurium. The absolute number of IFNγ-producing cells in innate, innate-like and adaptive lymphocyte subpopulations was determined. Principal Findings Early IFNγ production was found in the innate/innate-like lymphocyte subsets: γδ-T cells, NK cells and NK-like T cells. Significantly higher percentages of such cells produced IFNγ compared to adaptive αβ-T cells (Student's t test, P<0.001 and ≤0.02 for each innate subset compared, respectively, with CD4+- and CD8+-T cells). The absolute numbers of IFNγ-producing cells showed similar differences. The proportion of IFNγ-producing γδ-T cells, but not other lymphocytes, was significantly higher when stimulated with live compared with heat-killed bacteria (P<0.0001). Conclusion/Significance Our findings indicate an inherent capacity of innate/innate-like lymphocyte subsets to produce IFNγ early in the response to Salmonella infection. This may serve to control intracellular infection and reduce the threat of extracellular spread of disease with bacteremia which becomes life-threatening in the absence of protective antibody. These innate cells may also help mitigate against the effect on IFNγ production of depletion of Salmonella-specific CD4+-T lymphocytes in HIV infection

    Tanah pasiran merupakan lahan marjinal yang potensial untuk dijadikan sebagai lahan pertanian. Sifat fisika tanah pasiran merupakan salah satu faktor pembatas karena didominasi pori makro. Pengelolaan dengan aplikasi biochar berbahan baku dari limbah tanaman perkebunan pada tanah pasiran merupakan salah satu alternatif untuk memperbaiki kondisi fisika tanah sehingga dapat mendukung sebagai media tanam pembibitan tanaman tembakau (Nicotiana tabacum) Besuki Na-Oogst. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Maret-September 2017 bertempat di Laboratorium Konservasi dan Fisika Tanah, Laboratorium Kesuburan Tanah dan Green House Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Jember. Rancangan penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) Faktorial yang terdiri atas 2 faktor yaitu faktor jenis biochar yang terdiri dari biochar limbah kulit kopi (B1), biochar limbah kulit kakao (B2), dan biochar biji karet (B3) dan faktor kedua adalah dosis biochar tersebut yaitu meliputi tanpa biochar/kontrol (D1), 12,5 g/kg tanah (D2), 25 g/kg tanah (D3) dan 37,5 g/kg tanah (D4). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa interaksi antara dosis biochar dengan taraf dosis yang berbeda memberikan pengaruh terhadap pH tanah, tinggi tanaman, panjang daun, lebar daun, luas permukaan daun, diameter batang, panjang akar, berat basah dan berat kering bibit tembakau besuki na-oogst. Setiap jenis biochar dan dosis biochar masing-masing memberikan pengaruh yang berbeda terhadap perbaikan sifat fisik tanah pasiran yaitu menurunkan nilai berat volume (BV), meningkatkan porositas, water holding capacity (WHC) dan pH tanah.Kombinasi perlakuan yang terbaik untuk pertumbuhan bibit tembakau besuki na-oogst adalah pada jenis biochar biji karet dengan dosis 25 g/kg tanah

    This study aims to determine the effect of return on equity, earnings per share, firm size and operating cash flow to stock return. This study was performed on companies listed in the Index Kompas 100 2011-2015. The sampling technique that used in this research is purposive sampling technique. This study has 22 companies samples. Data analysis technique that used is multiple linear regression analysis. Based on the results of the research analysis found operating cash flow has a positive and significant effect on stock returns, EPS has a negative and significant effect on stock returns where as ROE and firm size has no effect on stock returns

    Performance comparison of baseline routing protocols in pocket switched network

    Pocket Switched Network (PSN) is a branch of Delay Tolerant Network (DTN) which is intended to work in a challenged network. Challenged network is network with lack of infrastructure such as disaster area. As such, the network has intermittent connectivity. PSN provides a new paradigm to distribute messages in the network by taking advantage of roaming nodes from one place to another. In this paper, network performances of eight PSN routing protocols are investigated namely, First Contact, Direct Delivery, Epidemic, PRotocol using History of Encounter and Transitivity (PRoPHET), Spray and Wait, Binary Spray and Wait, Fuzzy Spray, Adaptive Fuzzy Spray and Wait. The performance metrics are packet delivery ratio, overhead ratio and average latency. Opportunistic Network Environment (ONE) simulator is used to evaluate the network performance. Experiments show that Epidemic has the best performance in term of message delivery ratio, but it has the highest overhead ratio. Direct Delivery has the lowest overhead ratio (zero overhead ratio) and PRoPHET has the lowest latency average
