This study aims to determine the relationship authoritarian parenting with discipline of memorizing al-qur'an. The population were students of TKIT MTA Juwiring 1 and TKIT MTA Juwiring 4.Teknik sampling is population study using inclusion criteria. Measuring tool use the scale of authoritarian parenting and disciplinary scale. Analysis of data using the help of SPSS 15.0 with product moment analysis to measure the relationship between authoritarian parenting with the discipline of memorizing al-qur'an. Based on calculations obtained by data analysis results indicate there is a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.120 with sig = 0.323; p> 0,05, meaning that there is no relation between authoritarian parenting with discipline memorizing al-qur'an, so proposed research hypothesis is rejected. The results of comparison of empirical scores show that authoritarian parenting is moderate with empirical mean (RE) = 34.64 and hypothetical (RH) = 40, and the discipline of memorizing al-qu'an is high with empirical average (RE) = 46.16 and hypothetical average (RH) = 45. The conclusion of the research is there is no relation between authoritarian parenting with discipline memorizing al-qur'an. This means that the authoritarian parenting variable can not be a predictor to measure the discipline of memorizing the Qur'an. It also that the discipline of memorizing al-quran is not only influenced by authoritarian parenting, but there are other factors that may affect

Risk factors for outbreaks of SARS-CoV-2 infection at retirement homes in Ontario, Canada: a population-level cohort study

BACKGROUND: The epidemiology of SARS-CoV-2 infection in retirement homes (also known as assisted living facilities) is largely unknown. We examined the association between home-and community-level characteristics and the risk of outbreaks of SARS-CoV-2 infection in retirement homes since the beginning of the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. METHODS: We conducted a population-based, retrospective cohort study of licensed retirement homes in Ontario, Canada, from Mar. 1 to Dec. 18, 2020. Our primary outcome was an outbreak of SARS-CoV-2 infection (≥ 1 resident or staff case confirmed by validated nucleic acid amplification assay). We used time-dependent proportional hazards methods to model the associations between retirement home- and community-level characteristics and outbreaks of SARS-CoV-2 infection. RESULTS: Our cohort included all 770 licensed retirement homes in Ontario, which housed 56 491 residents. There were 273 (35.5%) retirement homes with 1 or more outbreaks of SARS-CoV-2 infection, involving 1944 (3.5%) residents and 1101 staff (3.0%). Cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection were distributed unevenly across retirement homes, with 2487 (81.7%) resident and staff cases occurring in 77 (10%) homes. The adjusted hazard of an outbreak of SARS-CoV-2 infection in a retirement home was positively associated with homes that had a large resident capacity, were co-located with a long-term care facility, were part of larger chains, offered many services onsite, saw increases in regional incidence of SARS-CoV-2 infection, and were located in a region with a higher community-level ethnic concentration. INTERPRETATION: Readily identifiable characteristics of retirement homes are independently associated with outbreaks of SARS-CoV-2 infection and can support risk identification and priority for vaccination

Sexual Priming, Gender Stereotyping, and Likelihood to Sexually Harass: Examining the Cognitive Effects of Playing a Sexually-Explicit Video Game

The present study examines the short-term cognitive effects of playing a sexually explicit video game with female “objectification” content on male players. Seventy-four male students from a university in California, U.S. participated in a laboratory experiment. They were randomly assigned to play either a sexually-explicit game or one of two control games. Participants’ cognitive accessibility to sexual and sexually objectifying thoughts was measured in a lexical decision task. A likelihood-to-sexually-harass scale was also administered. Results show that playing a video game with the theme of female “objectification” may prime thoughts related to sex, encourage men to view women as sex objects, and lead to self-reported tendencies to behave inappropriately towards women in social situations

DOCK8 functions as an adaptor that links TLR-MyD88 signalling to B cell activation.

The adaptors DOCK8 and MyD88 have been linked to serological memory. Here we report that DOCK8-deficient patients had impaired antibody responses and considerably fewer CD27+ memory B cells. B cell proliferation and immunoglobulin production driven by Toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9) were considerably lower in DOCK8-deficient B cells, but those driven by the costimulatory molecule CD40 were not. In contrast, TLR9-driven expression of AICDA (which encodes the cytidine deaminase AID), the immunoglobulin receptor CD23 and the costimulatory molecule CD86 and activation of the transcription factor NF-kB, the kinase p38 and the GTPase Rac1 were intact. DOCK8 associated constitutively with MyD88 and the tyrosine kinase Pyk2 in normal B cells. After ligation of TLR9, DOCK8 became tyrosine-phosphorylated by Pyk2, bound the Src-family kinase Lyn and linked TLR9 to a Src–kinase Syk–transcription factor STAT3 cascade essential for TLR9-driven B cell proliferation and differentiation.Thus,DOCK8 functions as an adaptor in a TLR9-MyD88 signaling pathway in B cells
