Kilka uwag na temat literackich przedstawień bitwy chocimskiej 1673 roku

The author of the paper indicates several aspects which connect the texts describing the battle of Khotyn in 1673. Epical attempts at showing those events complied with the epical model known as ‘native heroicum’, which was popular on Polish lands in those days. According to this model, the primary rule of verismo was combined with attempts at making narration more attractive. Some of them have been described in this paper. Moreover, the author discussed the method of depicting Tatar‑Turkish armies in the works, paying attention to their abundance. The exemplary material was derived, above all, from voluminous poems by Jan Ślizień, Mateusz Kuligowski, Samuel Leszczyński and Zbigniew Morsztyn.

Oktawa w epice historycznej wieków dawnych – wybrane problemy (na przykładzie Pamiętnego uprowadzenia wojska z cieśni bukowińskiej… Stanisława Wincentego Jabłonowskiego)

The article is divided into two parts. The first one describes a career that ottava rima had in seventeenth-century heroic narrative poems. What the author references are the most valid opinions by scholars of the Polish verse pertaining to ottava rima, in addition to the opinions by the poets who struggled to write in this challenging stanza form. Part two of the article analyses selected stanzas (ottavas) from the narrative poem Pamiętne uprowadzenie wojska z cieśni bukowińskiej… (1745) by Stanisław Wincenty Jabłonowski. Aside from versological questions, also the most important problems are indicated that relate to editing and punctuation of the Jabłonowski’s ottava rima.The article is divided into two parts. Phylogeny and morphology of Anthracoidea pamiroalaica sp. nov. infecting the endemic sedge Carex koshewnikowii in the Pamir Alai Mts (Tajikistan)

A novel Anthracoidea species, A. pamiroalaica on the endemic sedge Carex koshewnikowii, is described and illustrated from the Pamir Alai Mts in Tajikistan (Central Asia). The new species is phenotypically nearly identical with Anthracoidea sempervirentis, but clearly divergent genetically. Phylogenetic analyses based on LSU sequences showed affinity of Anthracoidea pamiroalaica to A. baldensis, A. rupestris, A. capillaris, and A. vankyi infecting host sedges in different Carex sections (Baldenses, Rupestres, Chlorostachyae, and Phaestoglochin, respectively), but not to A. misandrae, and A. sempervirentis, two sequenced species parasitic on host species from the section Aulocystis. This phylogenetic placement is briefly discussed in the context of Anthracoidea evolution

Urocystis skirgielloi, a new graminicolous smut fungus infecting Heteropogon contortus in India

&lt;em&gt;Urocystis skirgielloi&lt;/em&gt; M. Piątek sp. nov. is described and illustrated on the basis of infected leaves of &lt;em&gt;Heteropogon contortus&lt;/em&gt; (L.) Roem. &amp; Schult. collected in India. This is the first &lt;em&gt;Urocystis&lt;/em&gt; species on the grass genus &lt;em&gt;Heteropogon&lt;/em&gt; as well as on any grass genera belonging to the subtribe &lt;em&gt;Anthistiriinae&lt;/em&gt; of the tribe &lt;em&gt;Andropogoneae&lt;/em&gt; (&lt;em&gt;Poaceae&lt;/em&gt;).</jats:p

The critical edition of the fourth part of poem by Stanisław Wincenty Jabłonowski&nbsp;entitled &ldquo;Pamiętne uprowadzenie wojska z cieśni bukowińskiej&hellip;&rdquo; Summary The paper presents a critical edition of the fourth poem by Stanisław Wincenty Jabłonowski entitled&nbsp;&ldquo;Pamiętne uprowadzenie wojska z cieśni bukowińskiej&hellip;&rdquo; (1745). In this heroic poem, the&nbsp;author describes the expedition of his grandfather Stanislaw Jan to Bukovina in 1685. The poem&nbsp;is also a part of a vast amount of work by Polish writers on the struggles between the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and the Ottoman Empire. Special attention, thanks to its artistic&nbsp;value, should be drawn to the parts of the text dedicated to the crossing via Bukovina by&nbsp;the army

On a singular Fredholm-type integral equation arising in N=2 super Yang-Mills theories

In this work we study the Nekrasov-Shatashvili limit of the Nekrasov instanton partition function of Yang-Mills field theories with N=2 supersymmetry and gauge group SU(n). The theories are coupled with fundamental matter. The equation that determines the density of eigenvalues at the leading order in the saddle-point approximation is exactly solved. The dominating contribution to the instanton free energy is computed. The requirement that this energy is finite imposes quantization conditions on the parameters of the theory that are in agreement with analogous conditions that have been derived in previous works. Using methods borrowed from the theory of matrix models, a field theoretical expression of the full instanton partition function is derived. It is checked that in the Nekrasov-Shatashvili (thermodynamic) limit the action of the field theory obtained in this way reproduces exactly the equation of motion used in the saddle-point calculations.Comment: 16 pages, LaTeX + RevTex 4, no figures, final version accepted by Phys.
