La voz del profesorado de educación física sobre su formación académica ante la realidad multicultural : análisis de la situación y propuestas de mejora

Este artículo analiza la formación inicial y permanente del profesorado de Educación Física (EF) sobre aspectos interculturales y formula algunas orientaciones para mejorar la capacitación profesional de los futuros maestros/as en un contexto multicultural. A partir de la revisión bibliográfica de las propuestas realizadas en el ámbito español e internacional, se recoge también la propia "voz" de profesorado experimentado en escuelas con elevada diversidad cultural. Sus reflexiones sobre su formación académica, así como los cambios que proponen para mejorar la preparación del profesorado, nos permiten establecer los aspectos principales que debería recoger un programa de formación inicial que pretenda abordar una EF intercultural.This paper analyzes the initial and continuing training of Physical Education (PE) Teacher's on intercultural issues and provides some guidelines for improving the professional training of future teachers in a multicultural context. From the review of Spanish and international literature about training proposals, here also reflects the "voice" of experienced teachers in schools with high cultural diversity. Their reflections on their academic training as well as proposed changes to improve training preparation, allows us to establish the main aspects that should reflect an initial training program that aims to tackle an intercultural PE

Tomando el pulso a la perspectiva de género : un estudio de caso en una institución universitaria de formación de profesorado de educación física

Esta investigación tiene como principal objetivo explorar cómo se aborda la perspectiva de género en la formación de profesorado de Educación Física de una institución universitaria. Las políticas de igualdad en el contexto universitario europeo nos sitúan en el marco idóneo para revisar la cuestión de género en la formación del profesorado, ya que en muchas ocasiones se ha considerado como un aspecto marginal de los planes de estudio, y se ha relegado a una asignatura optativa. Así pues, se pretende tomar el pulso a la situación actual e indagar sobre las actitudes del profesorado hacia las cuestiones de género, a la vez que valorar su tratamiento pedagógico en la formación universitaria de los futuros profesionales de Educación Física.The main objective of this research is to explore an approach to the perspective of gender in Physical Education Teacher Education in a university institution. The politics of inequality in a European university context, place us in an ideal position to review the question of gender in teacher training since it has often been considered as a marginal factor in the degree course, relegating it to an optional subject. We therefore aim to "take the pulse" of the current situation and look more closely into the significance and the pedagogical treatment of gender in training future professionals in physical education during their university education

Put three and three together: Triangle-driven community detection

Community detection has arisen as one of the most relevant topics in the field of graph data mining due to its applications in many fields such as biology, social networks, or network traffic analysis. Although the existing metrics used to quantify the quality of a community work well in general, under some circumstances, they fail at correctly capturing such notion. The main reason is that these metrics consider the internal community edges as a set, but ignore how these actually connect the vertices of the community. We propose the Weighted Community Clustering (WCC), which is a new community metric that takes the triangle instead of the edge as the minimal structural motif indicating the presence of a strong relation in a graph. We theoretically analyse WCC in depth and formally prove, by means of a set of properties, that the maximization of WCC guarantees communities with cohesion and structure. In addition, we propose Scalable Community Detection (SCD), a community detection algorithm based on WCC, which is designed to be fast and scalable on SMP machines, showing experimentally that WCC correctly captures the concept of community in social networks using real datasets. Finally, using ground-truth data, we show that SCD provides better quality than the best disjoint community detection algorithms of the state of the art while performing faster.Peer ReviewedPostprint (author's final draft

Educació en valors, esports i noves tecnologies

És possible l'educació en valors en l'esport a través de les noves tecnologies? Per tal de respondre aquesta qüestió, en aquest article plantegem algunes reflexions sobre què entenem per "educació en valors" i de quina manera el joc, l'activitat física i l'esport hi poden contribuir. A partir d'aquestes consideracions prèvies, ens introduïm en l'anàlisi del paper que hi poden jugar les Tecnologies de la Informació i la Comunicació (TIC) com a eina facilitadora, i aportem tres propostes que exemplifiquen les possibilitats educatives de les TIC en aquest àmbit.¿Es posible la educación en valores en el deporte a través de las nuevas tecnologías? Para responder a esta pregunta hemos planteado en este artículo algunas reflexiones sobre qué entendemos por "educación en valores" y de qué manera el juego, la actividad física y el deporte pueden contribuir. A partir de estas consideraciones previas, nos introduciremos en el análisis del papel que pueden desempeñar las Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación (TIC) como herramienta facilitadora, y aporta mostres propuestas que ejemplifican las posibilidades educativas de las TIC en este ámbito.Is it possible, through the new technologies, to educate in sports values? A review of lower-limb wearable exoskeletons for overground rehabilitation

Gait disorders are common among people with neuromuscular impairments –60% of the patients– and generally have a high impact on their quality of life . Lack of physical activity increases the risk of secondary health conditions such as respiratory and cardiovascular complications, bowel/bladder dysfunction, obesity, osteoporosis and ulcers; which can further diminish life expectancy. Therefore, walking recovery is one of the main rehabilitation priorities for patients with a neuromuscular impairment. Wearable exoskeletons are emerging as a revolutionary device for gait rehabilitation, mainly due to both the active participation required from the user promoting physical activity10 and the possibility to work as an assistive device in the community. In fact, the number of research studies during the past 10 years has shown a large increase following the general tendency of rehabilitation robotics . Although wearable exoskeletons are starting to be used in clinical practice, their efficacy is still not clear. Mirant endarrere: la veu del professorat d’educació física sobre la seva trajectòria professional en una escola multicultural

Aquest treball s’endinsa en un conjunt d’escoles amb més del 50 % d’alumnat d’origen estranger per conèixer la manera en què el professorat d’educació física, amb més de 5 anys d’experiència, percep l’evolució i el transcurs de la seva trajectòria professional en aquest context (percepcions, sentiments, actuacions, etc.). Des d’una perspectiva qualitativa, s’ha dut a terme un estudi de casos múltiple (n = 12) a la província de Barcelona. Les entrevistes semiestructurades i les observacions no participants han estat els instruments utilitzats per a l’obtenció de resultats, i per a la seva interpretació, s’ha recorregut a l’anàlisi de contingut. Entre les conclusions més rellevants cal destacar que, malgrat totes les dificultats amb què s’ha trobat el professorat participant al llarg de tota la seva trajectòria laboral, la majoria d’aquest col·lectiu posseeix una percepció bastant positiva sobre el seu estat emocional i la seva feina professional en una escola multicultural, desmitificant-se així la tradicional imatge social d’aquesta escola com a problemàtica i conflictiva per a l’alumnat i el professorat

Echando la vista atrás: la voz del profesorado de educación física sobre su trayectoria profesional en una escuela multicultural

Este trabajo se adentra en un conjunto de escuelas con más del 50 % de alumnado de origen extranjero para conocer la manera en la que el profesorado de educación física, con más de 5 años de experiencia, percibe la evolución y el transcurso de su trayectoria profesional en este contexto (percepciones, sentimientos, actuaciones, etc.). Desde una perspectiva cualitativa, se ha llevado a cabo un estudio de casos múltiple (n = 12) en la provincia de Barcelona. Las entrevistas semiestructuradas y las observaciones no participantes han sido los instrumentos utilizados para la obtención de resultados, y para su interpretación, se ha recurrido al análisis de contenido. Entre las conclusiones más relevantes cabe destacar que, a pesar de todas las dificultades con las que se ha encontrado el profesorado participante a lo largo de toda su trayectoria laboral, la mayoría de este colectivo posee una percepción bastante positiva sobre su estado emocional y su labor profesional en una escuela multicultural, desmitificándose así la tradicional imagen social de esta escuela como problemática y conflictiva para el alumnado y el profesorado

The industrial tourism in the cultural offer of the big cities through the visitors’ analysis: the case of Barcelona

En las grandes ciudades, el turismo industrial suele tener un seguimiento minoritario. Sin embargo, la puesta en valor del patrimonio industrial sirve para ampliar la oferta cultural del turismo urbano, con el objetivo de satisfacer las nuevas motivaciones artístico-culturales de unos visitantes con limitada disponibilidad de tiempo pero cada vez más ávidos de consumir cultura. En este artículo, con el objetivo de comprobar cual es el grado de evolución de este turismo en la ciudad de Barcelona, si ayuda o no a potenciar su imagen urbana o si meramente es una oferta cultural complementaria marginal, después de presentar el marco teórico del turismo industrial y de su situación actual en Catalunya, se detalla el caso de la capital catalana a partir de dos encuestas, una propia y otra externa, con el soporte de datos estadísticos, analizando el perfil, motivaciones y grado de satisfacción de los visitantes a sus dos elementos más emblemáticos, el Museo de la Cerámica y el Museo del Chocolate, dentro de la amplia oferta cultural que presenta una gran ciudad con múltiples atractivos turísticos. Como se podrá comprobar, en Barcelona el turismo industrial es una actividad cultural complementaria dentro del turismo urbano y que, aun creciendo su número de visitantes, presenta un alto grado de marginalidad y una orientación a un determinado perfil de público, a pesar de que, por su aspecto pedagógico y cultural, ayuda a sus visitantes a entender mejor el territorio, su historia y las relaciones socioculturales desarrolladas, reafirmando la imagen de la ciudad.In the big cities, the industrial tourism is in the habit of having a minority follow-up. Nevertheless, the putting in value of the industrial heritage serves to extend the cultural offer of the urban tourism, with the aim to satisfy the new artistic-cultural motivations of a visitors with limited availability of time but increasingly eager to consume culture. In this paper, with the aim to verify which is the degree of evolution of this tourism in the city of Barcelona, if it helps or not to promote his urban image or if merely it is a cultural complementary marginal offer, after presenting the theoretical frame of the industrial tourism and of his current situation in Catalonia, there is detailed the case of the Catalan capital from two surveys, internal and external, with the support of statistical information, analyzing the profile, motivations and degree of satisfaction of the visitors to his two more emblematic elements, the Museum of the Ceramics and the Museum of the Chocolate, inside the wide cultural offer that presents a great city with multiple tourist attractions. Since it will be possible verify, in Barcelona the industrial tourism is a cultural complementary activity inside the urban tourism and that, still growing his number of visitors, presents a high degree of marginality and an orientation to a public's certain profile, in spite of the fact that, for his pedagogic and cultural aspect, it helps his visitors to understand better the territory, his history and the sociocultural developed relations, reaffirming the image of the city
