The study was undertaken with the objectives of mapping fish value chain and identifies the major actors and analyzing the determinants of value addition of fish in Gilgel Gibe dam I reservoir Southwest of Ethiopia. Out of the total 510 individual fishermen on this reservoir, 128 individuals were selected using a three stage sampling procedure which includes both purposive and simple random sampling methods. Data were collected using interview schedule and analyzed using descriptive statistics and binary logit models. The result of value chain analysis indicated that the direct fish value chain actors in this study area are fishermen, local collectors, fishery cooperatives, whole sellers, retailer and restaurants and hotels while the major enablers are Woreda office of Agriculture and Administrative, NGO’s, Bureau of Agriculture, financial institutions, Jimma research center and University and the  binary logit model indicated that the value addition of fish were significantly affected by education level, fishing equipment, access to extension service; market information; competitive market agents and credit service. The policy implication is that the fishermen should be educated through extension service, providing modern input and technologies, strengthening of market extension and linking them with financial service provider and empowering fishery cooperatives improves the fishery value addition development; thus income of individual fishermen could be enhanced. Keywords: Binary logit model, Fish Value chain, Fish Value Chain Map, Gilgel Gibe dam I reservoi

A Molecular Platinum Cluster Junction: A Single-Molecule Switch

We present a theoretical study of the electronic transport through single-molecule junctions incorporating a Pt6 metal cluster bound within an organic framework. We show that the insertion of this molecule between a pair of electrodes leads to a fully atomically engineered nano-metallic device with high conductance at the Fermi level and two sequential high on/off switching states. The origin of this property can be traced back to the existence of a HOMO which consists of two degenerate and asymmetric orbitals, lying close in energy to the Fermi level of the metallic leads. Their degeneracy is broken when the molecule is contacted to the leads, giving rise to two resonances which become pinned close to the Fermi level and display destructive interference.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figures. The impacts of ESG implementation on construction industry

The thesis deals with the topic of ESG implementation in the construction industry. ESG represents the measurement of sustainability in three areas: environmental, social and governance. This reporting is key to the development of the sustainability report, which is shaping up as a response to the demands of corporate stakeholders who have started to request non-financial information in addition to financial information about the companies. More sustainable behaviour and disclosure of non-financial reporting is mandated by the European Union legislation. The aim of this paper is to investigate the readiness of construction companies for the new ESG obligations. The practical part includes a case study using a questionnaire survey and analysis of published ESG data by construction companies operating on the Czech market. Currently, there is a large gap in the level of ESG implementation not only between large and medium-sized construction companies, but also between Czech and foreign companies

This bachelor thesis is concerned with the analysis of specific building operating costs of the insurance company Generali Česká pojišťovna. The theoretical part describes the basic definitions, concepts and development of the facility management. The study includes the concept of benchmarking as a suitable tool for successful company development. Part of the theoretical work are the norms and standards that govern facility management. The second part presents and describes the general information regarding the said company, it’s forementioned buildings and facility management in the company. The aim of the work is to compare the operating costs of several company objects in 2019 and 2020 following with detailed analysis. The practical part furthermore examines, the expected dependence between the operating characteristics

Drop-casting acetone solutions of [Fe(bpp)2][BF4]2 (bpp = 2,6-di[pyrazol-1-yl]pyridine) onto a HOPG surface affords unusual chain-of-beads nanostructures. The beads in each chain are similar in size, with diameters in the range of 2–6 nm and heights of up to 10 Å, which is consistent with them containing between 10–50 molecules of the compound. The beads can be classified into two types, which exhibit different conduction regimes by current-imaging tunnelling spectroscopy (CITS) which appear to correlate with their positions in the chains, and may correspond to molecules containing high-spin and low-spin iron centres. Similarly drop-cast films of the complex on a gold surface contain the intact [Fe(bpp)2][BF4]2 compound by XPS. 4-Mercapto-2,6-di[pyrazol-1-yl]pyridine undergoes substantial decomposition when deposited on gold, forming elemental sulfur, but 4-(N-thiomorpholinyl)-2,6-di[pyrazol-1-yl]pyridine successfully forms SAMs on a gold surface by XPS and ellipsometry
