The effect of courier services on e-commerce company’s reputation

Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena on selvittää kuriiripalvelun vaikutusta verkkokauppayrityksen maineeseen. Työ on toteutettu verkkokauppojen asiakkaiden näkökulmasta. Verkkokaupankäynnin ollessa suosittua asiakkaat tilaavat jatkuvasti enemmän yksittäisiä lähetyksiä ja kuriiripalveluiden roolina verkkokauppojen toiminnassa on tuotteen toimitus asiakkaalle. Tuotteen toimitus on tärkeä osa verkkokaupan asiakaskokemusta ja se määrittää paljolti, myös asiakastyytyväisyyttä. Kuriiriyritykset luovat toiminnallaan verkkokauppojen asiakkaille erilaisia valittavia toimitusvaihtoehtoja. Verkkokaupan maine rakentuu yrityksen toiminnan varaan ja se syntyy, kun organisaatio ja sen sidosryhmät kohtaavat erilaisissa tilanteissa. Eri sidosryhmillä on kuitenkin erilaisia havaintoja, joten yritykselläkin saattaa olla useita erilaisia maineita. Kuriirin toiminnan vaikutukset maineeseen ovat ennen kaikkea toiminnallisia ja emotionaalisia, eli ne perustuvat asiakkaan kokemukseen ja konkreettisiin hyötyihin. Verkkokaupan asiakaskokemuksen kannalta kuriirilla on kriittinen rooli. Kuriirin toiminnan epäonnistumisesta aiheutuva negatiivinen vaikutus verkkokaupan maineeseen on merkittävämpi, kuin toiminnan onnistumisen positiivinen vaikutus. Toisin sanoen hyvä maine on helpompi menettää, kuin rakentaa.The aim of this research is to examine how courier service has an effect to e- commerce stores reputation. This research is conducted from the e-commerce store’s customers perspective. While e-commerce is popular, customers are ordering continuously more single deliveries. The role of the courier service in the company’s e-commerce is to deliver the shipment to the customer. The delivery of the order is important part of the online customer experience, and it defines the customer satisfaction. Courier companies are offering wide variety of different deliveries for the e-commerce store customers. The reputation of the e-commerce store is built by the actions of the e-commerce store and the actions are visible when the organization and the stakeholders are interacting with different situations. Different stakeholders have different observations of the situations, so the e-commerce store might have different kind of reputations between the stakeholders. The actions by the courier made to the reputation are mainly functional and emotional, so they are focusing on the customers own experience and the concrete benefits for the customer. For the customer experience of the e-commerce store, courier has a critical role. The negative effect to e-commerce store’s reputation caused by the failure of courier service is greater compared to the positive effect of successful delivery. Abrogation of chronic rejection in a murine model of aortic allotransplantation by prior induction of donor-specific tolerance

Aortic allotransplantation in mice has been well established as a model of choice to study the evolvement of chronic rejection, the etiopathology of which is believed to be that of immune origin. This has prompted the postulation that prior induction of donor-specific tolerance would attenuate or abrogate the underlying events that culminate in posttransplant arteriosclerosis. To study the effects of donor-specific tolerance on chronic rejection, we performed orthotopic liver transplantation without immunosuppression in mice 30 days before aortic allotransplantation across C57Bl/10J (H2b)→C3H (H2(k)) strain combinations (group III). Aortic allografting in syngeneic (group I; C3H→C3H) and allogeneic (group II, C57Bl/10J→C3H) animals served as controls. No morphological changes were evidenced in the transplanted aortas in group I animals. Contrarily, aortic allografts in group H animals underwent a self-limiting acute cellular rejection, which resolved completely and was succeeded by day 30 after transplantation by histopathological changes pathognomonic of chronic rejection. There was evidence for diffuse myointimal thickening, progressive concentric luminal narrowing, and patchy destruction of internal elastic membranes resulting in massive vascular obliteration by day 120 after transplantation. It was of interest that no arteriosclerotic changes were observed for the duration of follow-up (up to 120 days after transplantation) in transplanted aortas (liver donor-type) harvested from animals in group III. However, vasculopathy was prominent in third-party aortic grafts transplanted into tolerant recipients. Taken together, these data suggest that prior induction of tolerance abrogates the development of chronic rejection; this protection seems to be donor specific
