Analysis of the success and failure in the labour markets of selected EU member states. Macroeconomic aspects

This article points out particular economic factors and policies which influence the level of employment/unemployment in selected Western and Eastern European EU member-countries. Their respective growth performance in the last decade is taken into consideration too. It sheds light on some of the myths related to labour-market success and failure by looking at the specific features present in the investi-gated countries. Through the analysis of indicators related to em-ployment, unemployment and macroeconomy, we identify characteris-tic conditions which have been crucial for labour-market performance across Europe

Large area pulsed laser deposition of alumina on stainless steel with Ar or Ar/O2 mixtures as processing gas in investigated using excimer laser radiation. The high area coveraging was achieved by a simultaneous movement of target and substrate in combination with the use of a certain power density distribution achieving a special angular distribution of the vapour/plasma plume. The chemical properties of the films were studied by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and the morphology and uniformness by optical microscopy and ellipsometry

BaTiO3, thin films are deposited onto (111)-Si/Ti/Pt using a hybrid DC-field enhanced pulsed laser deposition (PLD)-technique with excimer laser radiation. Space- and time-resolved plasma emission spectroscopy (PES) is used for determination of the mean velocity of the particle species within the plasma/vapour. The structural properties of the films are characterised by XRD-measurements and micro-Raman spectroscopy. The electrical properties are analysed by impedance measurements. The electric field influences the number of excited and ionised particles within the ambient gas and plasma, caused by a discharge in the ambient gas and interaction between ambient gas and plasma. The hybrid process allows production of crystalline films of the tetragonal phase at reduced deposition temperatures. Dielectric constants of up to epsilon(r) = 320 are obtained

Bulk sensitive photo emission spectroscopy of C1b compounds

This work reports about bulk-sensitive, high energy photoelectron spectroscopy from the valence band of CoTiSb excited by photons from 1.2 to 5 keV energy. The high energy photoelectron spectra were taken at the KMC-1 high energy beamline of BESSY II employing the recently developed Phoibos 225 HV analyser. The measurements show a good agreement to calculations of the electronic structure using the LDA scheme. It is shown that the high energy spectra reveal the bulk electronic structure better compared to low energy XPS spectra.Comment: J. Electron Spectrosc. Relat. Phenom. accepte
