Managerji HRM in njihove etične dileme
Douglas Renwick (2003) said that the personnel function plays the role of guardian of employeesʼ wellbeing, but on the other hand, he said that personnel managers also tamper with the wellbeing of employees. Looking at Renwickʼs theory through Ulrichʼs model of personnel managers as guardians of employeesʼ wellbeing, they play the role of strategic partners, managers of the changes and the role of the employees representatives. Gantz and Hayes (inPayne and Wayland, 1999) explicated a few fields where we can talk of ethical conflict while performing these roles: discrimination, psychological tests, anti-union behaviour, design of work flow, job insecurity, discipline, confidentiality, privacy, and firing because of technological redundancy. In this paper we explore the field of potential and real ethical conflicts of human resource managers. What are the most important values of human resources managers? In which areas do ethical conflicts occur? And how do they solve these conflicts on an everyday basis? We used questionnaires to gather data onthese issues. We found out that managers who are in leading positions sufferthe most, next are those who have had long tenure. In this situation ethical codes donʼt help much
izgrađene uz pomoć UNICEF-a
Dynamic cluster-scaling in DNA
It is shown that the nucleotide sequences in DNA molecules have
cluster-scaling properties (discovered for the first time in turbulent
processes: Sreenivasan and Bershadskii, 2006, J. Stat. Phys., 125, 1141-1153.).
These properties are relevant to both types of nucleotide pair-bases
interactions: hydrogen bonds and stacking interactions. It is shown that taking
into account the cluster-scaling properties can help to improve heterogeneous
models of the DNA dynamics. Two human genes: BRCA2 and NRXN1, have been
considered as examples
Protection and Conservation of the Value of Public Infrastructure\ud \ud
This paper discusses the system of public infrastructure protection on the systemic and implementation levels, and public infrastructure as a part of the local community assets. In this regard, special attention is paid to the present position and particular role of the cadastre of public infrastructure in ensuring the protection of public infrastructure, real depreciation accounting and the establishment of new relationships between local community and utility companies
How to Protect Your Water from Spilled Fuel - Homeowner Fact Sheet
Fuel spills and leaks pose a serious threat to human health and environmental quality. One gallon of gasoline can contaminate up to 1 million gallons of water. Cleanup of fuel-contaminated soil and water can be extremely difficult and expensive
Stream Side Science Lesson Plan: When Things Heat Up
In this exercise, students will measure the temperature and dissolved oxygen of a stream (or use their fi ndings from the activity What’s in the Water?) and discuss what this information can tell us about possible pollution problems
Stream Side Science Lesson Plan: Who Lives in the Water?
In this exercise, students will collect and observe macroinvertebrates in an aquatic system. They will record and summarize their findings
Stream Side Science Lesson Plan: Missing Macroinvertebrates
In this exercise, students will collect macroinvertebrates from a stream site, sort and identify them, and use their fi ndings to identify current and past impacts to the quality of the water. They will also make predictions of how the impacts to the water quality contributed to the localized extinction of some types of macroinvertebrates
How To Manage a Livestock Yard and Protect Your Water - Homeowner Fact Sheet
Proper management of livestock yards helps reduce potential contamination of surface and ground water. Utah now requires that all animal feeding operations (AFOs) control runoff to surface waters (see glossary for definition of an AFO)
