In this study, the response of Imitanib Mesylate in patients with Gastro-intestinal stromal cell tumour (GIST) was assessed. GIST results from a mutation in one of the receptor protein tyrosine kinases. Imitanib Mesylate, a tyrosine kinase inhibitor, has emerged as a promising new treatment for GISTs. Total 16 cases were reviewed. Diagnosis was based on biopsy and immunohistochemistry. Response assessment was done using CT scans, at a median duration of 4 months. The median age of the patients was 52 years, Majority were male (n=14). Most common presenting complaint was abdominal pain (n=7). Commonest primary site was stomach (n=7), Liver was the most common organ involved in metastasis (n=8). All patients received Imitanib 400 mg orally, once a day. No mortality was reported during median follow up time of 28 months on Imitanib. There was also either radiological remission (n=5) or response (n=5), in about half of the patients without any serious side effects

Considering the risks associated with food consumption, several risk reduction strategies are used by consumers, all linked to brand loyalty, store image or label references that build trust in the product. A food product can be labeled organic if it complies with the principles for organic production, processing, labeling and control. Previous researchers have identified that organic certification logo have significant impact on consumption of organic products in urban markets. Organic logo increases trustworthiness of urban consumers about organic produces. Previous studies further observed that high price has deep connotation with trustworthiness about organic produces and urban buyers have ability to pay high price. The urban buyers though they have ability to pay high price for organic produces, they do not get them from trustworthy sources due to lack of believable information about organic produces. The urban organic consumers mostly come from affluent part of the society who have access to technology and have access to smartphone for available information about sources of organic produces. Quick response code (QR code) is a type of 2D bar code that is used to provide easy access to information using free application with smartphone or QR scanner. The information (authentication code, grower code, name, location, contact number, Facebook URL, production date, expiry date and regulatory authority URL) about authentic organic growers can be embedded on QR code that can track easily at no cost. This paper addresses the model of adopting QR code based labeling mechanism for organic produces that dramatically will improve trustworthiness among organic consumers. This authentication process will eliminate fake organic growers also. The QR code based mechanism may increase brand loyalty, store image and can be used as a tool to replace the traditional organic labeling for urban markets

Worldwide interoperability for microwave access (WiMAX) offers the wireless connectivity using orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) modulation is a proficient wireless technology that capacities high-speed data transmission facilities. The existing WiMAX techniques have the problem of increase in inter-symbol interference (ISI) and bit error rate (BER) at reduced power spectrum that degrades the performance of WiMAX system due to high data rate transmission. The utilization of different adaptive modulation techniques seen as a potential solution to reduce the ISI and BER for high data rate transmission. In this paper, OFDM is adapted using advanced modulation technique for WiMAX system. The technique proposes the cyclic prefix (CP) is utilized that include supplementary bits at the stage of the transmitter. The proposed technique offers minimization of ISI and improvement in BER. It is defined that performance of the existing CP system is equated with the designed single cyclic prefix (SCP) and double cyclic prefix (DCP) and non-cyclic prefix (NCP). BER, probability of error, and power spectral density are utilized to analyse the performance of the designed system. The OFDM based SCP and DCP and NCP for WiMAX are demonstrated for modulation techniques such as; QPSK, BPSK, and QAM. It is determined that BPSK has the smallest BER when compared to QPSK, 16-QAM, and 64-QAM modulations. It is also demonstrated that QPSK is also very competent, however, it has a higher BER as compared to BPSK modulation. It is also observed that 16-QAM and 64-QAM are less efficient in terms of BER compared to QPSK and BPKS modulations. 64-QAM offers the high data rates, and due to high SNR ratio. The designed system is tested for under AWGN and Rayleigh fading channel, and effect power spectral density of signal to noise ratio on OFDM for rayleigh fading channel are demonstrated for SCP and DCP and NCP. It is determined that the OFDM transmitter with proposed DCP for random signals is efficiently reducing the BER and ISI for WiMAX system

This paper attempts to identify the farming and growth rate of livestock and demographic conditions helping in its growth and focus is specially to examine: (i) to know the trend of growth of performance of livestock farming; (ii) to promote fencing of farmland and conservation of rangeland for fodder (iii) to find the new topics for further research. Hypothesis given bellow are tested in the light of above objectives: (i). it is hypothysed that livestock farming is reliable source of income generation; (ii). it is also hypothysed that reforming of farmland and rangeland will provide abundant fodder and will prove sustainable source of income generation and rehabilitation of environment. Two alternatives hypothesis are also set: (i). livestock farming is not reliable source of income generation, if properly managed too. (ii) reforming of farmland and rangeland will not provide abundant fodder and will prove sustainable source of income generation and rehabilitation of environment. The study reveals that the important component of agriculture sector is livestock and is an insurance against harvest failures and a source of easily cashable investment capital. It has more than 22 percentage of share of whole province’s livestock. Agriculture dependent families are 81 percent and 92 percent families have opinion that livestock is the only first level sustainable source of livelihood in Tharparkar and needs more attention of researchers to evaluate it.Livestock, Trends, Comparison, Tharparkar, Growth rate, Rehabilitation, Reforming

Additive manufacturing (AM) offers unmatchable freedom of design with the ability to manufacture parts from a wide range of materials. The technology of producing three-dimensional parts by adding material layer-by-layer has become relevant in several areas for numerous industries not only for building visual and functional prototypes but also for small and medium series production. Among others, while metal AM technologies have been established as production method, their adoption has been limited by expensive equipment, anisotropy in part properties and safety concerns related to working with loose reactive metal powder. To address this challenge, the dissertation aims at developing the fundamental understanding required to print metal parts with bound metal powder filaments using an extrusion-based AM process, known as metal fused filament fabrication (MF3). MF3 of Ti-6Al-4V has been investigated, owing to significant interest in the material from aerospace and medical industries on account of their high strength-to-weight ratio, excellent corrosion resistance and biocompatibility. To investigate the material-geometry-process interrelationship in MF3 printing, the current work looks into the process modeling and simulation, the influence of material composition and resulting characteristics on printed part properties, effects of printing parameters and slicing strategies on part quality, and part design considerations for printability. The outcome of the work is expected to provide the basis of design for MF3 (DfMF3) that is essential to unlocking the full potential of additive manufacturing. Moreover, the layer-by-layer extrusion-based printing with the highly filled material involves several challenges associated with printability, distortion and dimensional variations, residual stresses, porosity, and complexity in dealing with support structures. Currently, a high dependency on experimental trial-and-error methods to address these challenges limits the scope and efficiency of investigations. Hence, the current work presents a framework of design for MF3 and evaluates a thermo-mechanical model for finite element simulation of the MF3 printing process for virtual analyses. The capability to estimate these outcomes allows optimization of the material composition, part design, and process parameters before getting on to the physical process, reducing time and cost. The quantitative influence of material properties on MF3 printed part quality in terms of part deformation and dimensional variations was estimated using the simulation platform and results were corroborated by experiments. Also, a systematic procedure for sensitivity analysis has been presented that identified the most significant input parameters in MF3 from the material, geometry and process variables, and their relative influence on the print process outcome. Moreover, feasible geometry and process window were identified for supportless printing of Ti-6Al-4V lattice structures using the MF3 process, and an analytical approach has been presented to estimate the extrudate deflection at the unsupported overhangs in lattice structures. Finally, the design and fabrication of Ti-6Al-4V maxillofacial implants using MF3 technology are reported for the first time confirming the feasibility to manufacture patient-specific implants by MF3. The outcome of the work is an enhanced understanding of material-geometry-process interrelationships in MF3 governing DfMF3 that will enable effective design and manufacturing

Recent data have suggested a strong possible link between Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and Alzheimer’s disease (AD), although exact mechanisms linking the two are still a matter of research and debate. Interestingly, both are diseases with high incidence and prevalence in later years of life. The link appears so strong that some scientists use Alzheimer’s and Type 3 Diabetes interchangeably. In depth study of recent data suggests that the anti diabetic drugs not only have possible role in treatment of Alzheimer’s but may also arrest the declining cognitive functions associated with it. The present review gives an insight into the possible links, existing therapeutics and clinical trials of anti diabetic drugs in patients suffering from AD primarily or as co-morbidity. It may be concluded that the possible beneficial effects and usefulness of the current anti diabetic drugs in AD cannot be neglected and further research is required to achieve positive results. Currently, several drug trials are in progress to give conclusive evidence based data
