The present study included study of using the agricultural bio byproducts of leaf base (petiole) and fiber of the date palm as low cost adsorbents for removal of Ni(II) and Cd(II) from their aqueous solutions via preparation of activated carbon. The results showed that the adsorption equilibrium time was 40, 30 min. for Ni(II) by leaf and fiber respectively and 30 min for Cd (II) adsorption by both of byproducts. The obtained results indicated that over pH range (6.5–7.0) there is an increased optimum of adsorption for all metal ions. (0.5g) of adsorbent is very ideal to obtain the best adsorption for both studied metals ions . The capacity of the adsorbents to adsorb these metal ions were found to be Ni (II) >Cd (II). The isotherms obeyed Langmuir isotherm better than Freundlich isotherm for both metals. Fiber has the highest removal than petiole. Thermodynamic parameters ( ΔGo) , (ΔHo) and (ΔSo) have been found that the sorption process was feasible, spontaneous and exothermic. Calculated kinetic parameters showed that the pseudo first order model is best fit to the experimental data

Determination of some heavy metals in extraction of plants by using AAS Technique

The present study was conduct to determination of heavy metals in the contents of  aqueous  and organic solvents extracts of plants leaves. Five different types of plant leaves were Nerium oleander , Conocarpus lancifolins , Eucalyptus camaldulensis Dehnh, Vicia, Jasminum Humile collected from different positions at Nasiriya zone were analyzed for heavy metals. The cold aqueous and organic solvents extraction method by using Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy AAS technique was used to extraction .The general Main levels of heavy metals in the total analyzed samples were arranged as Fe> Zn> Pb> Cu > Cr respectively. The study showed that there is an ideal solvent to extract all the elements in the above varieties study plants ,and the results compared with standard ranges and another studies

A comparative study of Iraqi crude oil taken from the Nasiriyah refinery with various local and global crude oils.

In the present work, was evaluated and compared some physicochemical properties of crude oil which is obtained from Nasiriyah refinery in south of Iraq with some physicochemical properties of various local and global of crude oils. Many methods were used in this study to evaluate some chemical content as sodium ,potassium ,calcium, magnesium, vanadium,Iron, copper, lead and nickel in samples of  Iraqi Oil in Nasiriya Refinery , as well as some physical properties included color , density, Ash content wt%, carbon residue wt% , water, salt , Sulfur content % wt, Heat of combustion Kcal/Kg , Thermal conductivity, Specific heat and Latent heat of vaporization were determinate . Also in this study viscosity were measured with different temperatures to observe the effect of temperature on oil viscosity. Range concentration of metals can be cleared by the series Ca > Na > Mg> V > Ni > K > Fe>  Pb > Cu. The present study has shown that high levels of metals ions in oil refinery whereas the physical properties were closed to previous findings conducted on a crude oil in Iraq and other countries. The study recommended to possible using of high levels of heavy metals in oil in scientific and industrial purposes as well as removal these metals contribute in reducing of contaminations problems

Determination of dutasteride in pure and tablet by flow injection system

A new Spectrophotometric flaw injection method has been established for the determination of Dutasteride (DS) in Pure and pharmaceutical tablets preparations. The method was based on the interaction of Dutasteride, as an n-electron donor with Chloranil as a π-acceptor, in acetonitrile to give reddish orange colored Chloranil radical anion with absorption maxima at 525 nm. The linearity of this method was in the range of (0.9948-8.932) ug.ml' with a correlation coefficient of 0.9969, a relative standard deviation (RSD) 0.422 %, with detection limit of (0.420) ug.ml"
