STRATEGY AS DISCURSIVE PRACTICE IN A BRAZILIAN PUBLIC UNIVERSITY: A LOOK UNDER THE PERSPECTIVE OF CRITICAL DISCOURSE ANALYSIS
The aim this article a critical discursive analysis of the “management plan” genre of a public institution of higher education, from 2012 to 2015, located in southeast Brazil. The aforementioned plan is inserted in the discursive practice of strategic management, specifically the institutional, bureaucratic management, and is used as an instrument for decision-making. The goal of this analysis will be to discuss the first step of the “management plan”, named “organizational policies”. We can see that, while elaborating declarative sentences, there is an evaluation of the statements regarding what is to be considered relevant to the institutions by means of the ideological discourse on neoliberal ideals and market behavior. The adoption of market-oriented managerial tools has been a constant in public administration. The public administration looks for bases of organizational practices in the private sphere. This mimicry is still present in the field, and the search for new managerial practices still crosses the imaginaries of the public managers. However, the increasing incorporation of a market-oriented, neoliberal logic, mainly in the adoption of strategic planning, can still be verified. The conclusion presented in this paper serves to foment the debate on the strategies formulated for the Brazilian public service and the methodological applicability of the critical discourse analysis. This meets the emerging need to systematize and integrate distinct theoretical and methodological approaches in the field of organizational studies when strategy is studied as a social and discursive practice

CONTRIBUIÇÃO DA METODOLOGIA PESQUISA-AÇÃO NAS PRÁTICAS DE GESTÃO PELOS TÉCNICOS DE NÍVEL SUPERIOR NAS UNIVERSIDADES PÚBLICAS BRASILEIRAS
A realidade da nova administração pública e o potencial reflexivo dos técnicos de nível superior (TNS) com formação na área de ciências sociais aplicadas e, enquanto servidor público federal, na possível utilização da abordagem metodológica da pesquisa-ação durante as práticas de gestão nas universidades. A distância entre teoria e as práticas organizacionais nas universidades carece de métodos para que tal dicotomia possa ser minimizada. Neste contexto o TNS poderá apresentar como um novo servidor que conquistará cada vez mais o seu espaço. A pesquisa-ação apresenta aplicabilidade em soluções de problemas do cotidiano organizacional por meio das experiências, das vivências e das intervenções dos próprios TNS na gestão universitária brasileira. Dentre suas competências, se inclui a proficiência metodológica, indispensável para contribuir, a partir, de bases científicas na condução, identificação e resolução de problemas práticos no cotidiano destas universidades. Tal proatividade estará contribuindo significativamente para melhor entendimento da teoria e minimizando a distância com a práxis organizacional
GESTÃO AMBIENTAL COMO PRÃTICA SOCIAL EM UMA ORGANIZAÇÃO PRODUTORA DE CELULOSE: UMA ANÃLISE INTERPRETATIVA
The objective of this paper is to study the socio-environmental management of a company in the cellulose industry based on the organization’s interaction in the social field. To achieve this, a theoretical-methodological model, based on an interpretative approach and on the understanding of environmental management as a social practice, was used. Triangulation of document analysis techniques and deep semi-open interviews were carried out. To interpret the results, content analysis was used to identify how managers understand the socially constructed relations between the organization and the environment. The results of this research also show that the organization is seeking to implement management practices that guarantee the efficiency of its production process while attempting to mitigate its environmental impacts, consolidating its image as an open and transparent company that operates according to the philosophy of corporative social responsibility.Agribusiness, Agricultural Finance, Industrial Organization, Socio-environmental management, social practice, organizations.,
O PLANO DE GESTÃO NAS UNIVERSIDADES FEDERAIS BRASILEIRAS SOB O OLHAR DO INSTITUCIONALISMO SOCIOLÓGICO
O objetivo deste ensaio é discutir como ocorreu o processo de adoção da ferramenta funcionalista do planejamento estratégico nas Instituições Federais de Ensino Superior (IFES) brasileiras. Apresenta-se como suporte teórico e analítico o enfoque sociológico foi escolhido porque, diferentemente dos demais, apresenta uma perspectiva cultural e sublinha o papel das normas culturais e dos elementos do amplo contexto institucional. Verifica-se que o processo de institucionalização nas universidades promove, cada vez mais, mudanças organizacionais que são substanciais e de um alto grau de formalização para que as mesmas continuem atuando. Os ambientes institucionais das IFES brasileiras estão condicionados por um ambiente de regulação rígido e amparados, especificamente, por determinações prescritas pelos organismos normativos e fiscalizadores da União. Tal atendimento das normas federais é uma fonte significativa de mudanças isomórficas nas IFES. É sabido que o apoio profissional dos técnicos de nível superior nas IFES brasileiras, servidores públicos de carreira com formação acadêmica em Administração ou áreas correlatas na construção do planejamento estratégico permite mais legitimidade nesse campo, o que implica credibilidade e suporte institucional
TECNOLOGIA DE INFORMAÇÃO NA EDUCAÇÃO SUPERIOR: UMA ANÃLISE DO PROCESSO DE APRENDIZAGEM EM ADMINISTRAÇÃO
This paper, by inserting itself in the field of study that has tried to display some thoughts on the pedagogic practices brought by the new educational technologies, aimed at uncovering the meanings attributed by both students and teachers to the use of the technology of information as a mediator in the teaching-learning relation in the undergraduate Business Program of the Universidade Federal de Lavras (UFLA). The analytical effort done here shows that the technology of information as a mediator of this relation gets different meanings both for teachers and students. In the perception of those actors, the technologies of communication and information- when performing the role of mediators in the teaching-learning relation in management- stimulate the quest for knowledge and improvement of the teaching quality. However, the educational process results can meet some barriers and limitations associated to the technological infra-structure, the lack of experience of the actors in working in environments mediated by technologies of information.Technology of information, learning, educational technologies, Teaching/Communication/Extension/Profession,
Capital social en un consorcio de investigación
Capital social é discutido no âmbito do Consórcio Brasileiro de Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento de Café. O objetivo é investigar a viabilidade de utilizar o capital social como instrumento para explicar o gradiente de recursos do consórcio de que os pesquisadores conseguem se apropriar para seus projetos de pesquisa. Foi desenvolvida e aplicada uma métrica de capital social para testar a existência de correlação entre volume de recursos captado e volume de capital social. A análise sociométrica de escolhas preferenciais dos pesquisadores e a quantificação da participação desses cientistas em projetos do consórcio permitiram o cômputo de uma grandeza - capital social - que poderia vir a explicar metade da variação da verba obtida pelos cientistas responsáveis por projetos de pesquisa na rede.We discuss social capital within the scope of the Brazilian Consortium for Research and Development of Coffee. The goal is to test the hypothesis that researchers' social capital may be taken as a variable for the resources of the consortium that these researchers were able to secure in their research projects. It was necessary to develop a social capital metric, apply it, and verify the correlation between the volume of captured resources and the volume of social capital. The application of the network analysis in view of the researchers' preferential choice and the quantification of the participation of these scientists in projects of the consortium enabled an estimation of a magnitude - the social capital - which could explain half the amount of variation obtained by each of the scientists responsible for research projects in the network.El capital social es discutido en el ámbito del Consorcio Brasileño de Investigación y Desarrollo del Café. El objetivo es investigar la viabilidad de utilizar el capital social como instrumento para explicar el gradiente de recursos del consorcio del cual los investigadores consiguen apropiarse para sus proyectos de investigación. APRENDIZAGEM TRANSFORMATIVA NO ESPAÇO ORGANIZACIONAL: UMA ANÃLISE DA PROPOSTA ANDRAGÓGICA DA PETROBRÃS
In this new century, organizational learning assumes a great relevance. It was sought by means of that research work to explore the literature and to present some theoretical reflections about learning process in adults as an attempt of better understanding the paradigms of analysis turned to the process of learning in organizations. The theoretical construct of this investigation is centered on the theory of the transformative learning of adults developed by Merizow (1991, 1997). This work has as the central goal to investigate, under the optics of the theory, the andragogical proposal of Petrobras. More specifically, it was intended in this investigation: i) redeem some aspects of history of this organization, distinguishing the elements that structured the andragogical process proposed by its corporative university and; ii) verify whether the andragogical proposition of the organization object of analysis, guides itself by the pre-supposed of transformative learning theory. Research concluded that a number of presuppositions of the theory are present in the andragogical proposal of the corporative university of the organization studied. However, there is a diversity of important presuppositions defended by the theory, which are not yet placed into practice in corporative education of that organization. The critical hermeneutics And studies in marketing : approaches and possibilities
Este ensaio tem por objetivo contribuir para uma reflexão sobre a formação, geração e evolução do conhecimento em marketing sob a luz da hermenêutica crítica. Trata-se de uma análise em que os autores vislumbram novas possibilidades de estudos críticos nesse campo das ciências sociais. Argumenta-se que a abordagem epistemológica da hermenêutica crítica fornece um arcabouço teórico-metodológico para o avanço dos estudos críticos em marketing, na medida em que se concentra em pressuposições interpretativas de base filosófica e sociológica. Evidencia-se, dessa forma, que a hermenêutica crítica é apontada como uma forma de análise e de reflexão crítica no ensino do marketing, uma vez que contribui para a interpretação e para os processos menos procedimentais e mais reflexivos. Assim, se avança na discussão de que a lente hermenêutica no marketing pode aparecer no momento em que esse campo se percebe mais desbastado e ao mesmo tempo em que a mobilidade de comportamentos ganha velocidades diferenciadas em relação a concepções passadas.This paper aims to contribute to a reflection on the formation, generation and development of knowledge in marketing in light of critical hermeneutics. This is a review in which the authors envision new possibilities of critical studies in the field of social sciences. It is argued that the epistemological approach to critical hermeneutics provides a theoretical and methodological framework for the advancement of critical studies in marketing in that it focuses on interpretive assumptions of philosophical and sociological basis. It is evident, therefore, that the hermeneutic criticism is seen as a form of analysis and critical reflection on the marketing education, since this contributes to interpretation and less procedural and more reflective processes. Thus, it is advancing in the discussion that hermeneutic lens marketing may appear when this field is perceived more chopped and at the same time the mobility behavior gains at different speeds in relation to past designs
Trajetória e especificidades de processos de inovação em agrotecnologias: estudo de casos.
The debate surrounding the need to bring together research and society, through a greater application of scientific knowledge, is increasing. This article addresses the issue, connecting the macro and micro scopes of analysis around the concepts of institutional and immediate specificities of innovation processes. The path followed by scientific information until its application as technological innovation was analyzed. Two cases of agrotechnological innovations developed in the university were evaluated. The objective was to understand how these processes occurred, emphasizing specific and immediate institutional issues related to their trajectories. The work used the case study method based on a theoretical foundation that incorporates the socio-economic context and the innovation processes themselves. The results instigate deep political and pragmatic reflections on the importance of several features of the immediate and specific institutional requirements mentioned, such as technical and economic feasibility, cultural legitimization of the innovation by the market, and the researchers’ contribution in solving problems in the institutional environment.technology innovation, agrotechnology, technology transfer, academic entrepreneurship., Agribusiness, Agricultural Finance, Industrial Organization,
