A computational model for inventory management and planning
The objective of the study is to determine the factors of the optimal level of merchandizing inventory. The study is based on a mathematical model. The results revealed some interesting findings. The most important conclusion is that the 'Usage of Material' or the Sales Volume is not the real determinate of the inventory volume. It is concluded in the model that the volume of inventories depends on the difference between the return on investment in the inventories and the rate of interest on short-term deposits. The traditional methods in cost accounting - Buffer Stock and Economic Order Quantity - have been reconciled with the profit maximization hypothesis.Inventory Control; Economic Order Quantity; Buffer Stock; Baumoul's Model; Optimization; Material Cost Accounting
When Military Restrain the Rule: Philosophy and Indications
It was concluded in the literature that military is merely a symptom of underlying political difficulties, a neutral force, which mechanically moves into the political area when a vacuum is created. Armed forces took control over the political management only in those economies where magnitude of military power was greater in relation with the size of economy: a higher defense expenditure to GDP ratio lead the control of political management by armed forces.Coupolgy; Economic Performance; Defence Expenditures;
Fulminant invasive aspergillosis of the mediastinum in an immunocompetent host: a case report
Introduction: Invasive aspergillosis is a serious complication in immunocompromised patients. It is an opportunistic disease, which predominantly occurs in the lungs, although dissemination to virtually any organ is possible. Invasive aspergillosis in an immunocompetent patient with extension to the mediastinum has rarely been reported. Here, we present the case of a patient with no apparent immunodeficiency state, who presented with Aspergillus endocarditis and fulminant invasive aspergillosis with extensive involvement of the mediastinal structures, which ultimately was responsible for her death. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first reported case in the literature on fulminant invasive mediastinal aspergillosis with extension to the pulmonary vasculature and concomitant Aspergillus endocarditis in an apparently immunocompetent patient without pre-existing lung disease. Case presentation: Our patient was a previously healthy 47-year-old Asian woman, who presented to our emergency room with severe progressive shortness of breath of one month’s duration, associated with orthopnea and unstable vital signs. Conclusion: Invasive aspergillosis has been described in the presence of pulmonary disease, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder, and one case has been reported in a patient without preexistent disease, but none of these have been fatal. Our case is therefore the first reported case of its kind. Our case shows that fulminant aspergillosis can occur in an immunocompetent host and can be fatal. We conclude that invasive aspergillosis should not be excluded from the differential diagnosis on the basis of immunocompetency
Pricing behavior of firms when consumers have an Imperfect Recall
Operating in markets which include the characteristics of both the perfect and imperfect competitions has never been so easy for a firm, while setting an acceptable price. Various firms show various pricing behavior to generate and maximize revenues. This paper is an attempt to encompass pricing behaviors of firms when consumers have imperfect recall for the past prices of the products, while giving a thought to ponder that which of the behaviors has an optimal rationale when a firm sets market price for a commodity. The findings concludes that firms set prices as similar as monopolist when the consumers of their products have imperfect recall for price they offered already in yore.Imperfect recall, pricing behavior, monopolist, hotelling tradeoff
Perbedaan Hasil Belajar Fisika Melalui Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe Numbered Heads Together (NHT) Berbantuan Kartu Soal Dengan Model Pembelajaran Direct Instruction Di SMAN 7 Mataram Tahun Ajaran 2015/2016
This research is aimed to know the difference between physics learning result through numbered heads together type cooperative learning model helped by question card and physics learning result through direct instruction learning model at SMAN 7 Mataram on academic year of 2015/2016. This research was an experimental study with pretest posttest control group design. The population in this research was all the students of XI IPA SMAN 7 Mataram. Based on sampling process using cluster random sampling tehnique, XI IPA 7 was choosen as the experiment A class and XI IPA 6 was choosen as the experiment B class. The result of the test analized using t-test polled varians showed that tcount was 5,98 and ttable was 1,99 in the significant level of 5 % with the degree of freedom (df) of 61. Since tcount > ttable, Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. It can be concluded that there were a difference between physics learning result through numbered heads together type cooperative learning model helped by question card and physics learning result through direct instruction learning model at SMAN 7 Mataram on academic year of 2015/201
