Polarization of Radiation in Multipole Jaynes-Cummings Model
We discuss the spatial properties of quantum radiation emitted by a multipole
transition in a single atom. The qualitative difference between the
representations of plane and spherical waves of photons is examined. In
particular, the spatial inhomogeneity of the zero-point oscillations of
multipole field is shown. We show that the vacuum noise of polarization is
concentrated in a certain vicinity of atoms where it strongly exceeds the level
predicted by the representation of the plane waves. A new general polarization
matrix is proposed. It is shown that the polarization and its vacuum noise
strongly depend on the distance from the source.Comment: 23 pages, 3 figure
Informing Maqamas in Arabic
İslam’ın gelişinden sonra Arap Edebiyatı, Kur’an-ı Kerim’in yoğun etkisi altında kalmıştır. Nesir ve şiirlerde Kur’an-ı Kerim’den iktibaslar sıkça yapılmıştır. Makâme türü eserlerde iktibasların yanı sıra Kur’ân-ı Kerim’in sanat yönü örnek alınmıştır. Türkiye’de hikâye makâmeleri hakkında birçok çalışma bulunmasına rağmen, i’lâmî makâmeleri hakkında yapılan araştırmaların sayısı oldukça azdır. Bu makale ile i’lâmî makâmeleri hakkında özet bilgi sunularak bundan sonra yapılacak olan çalışmalara anahtar oluşturulması amaçlanmaktadırAfter the advent of Islam, Arabic literature was heavily influenced by the Qur'an. Quotations from the Qur'an were frequently used in proses and poems. In maqama type works, besides the quotations, the artistic aspect of the Qur'an is taken as an example. The oratory maqames, which emerged as reactionary speech at first, later left their place to the written story maqamas. As a result of their popularity in the literary community, articles for information purposes began to be written in the type of maqama (informing maqamas). Some of the Islamic maqamas were written mixed with the story. While a certain subject was discussed at first in Islamic maqamas, later on, two or more living beings were discussed, such as the type of theater. In the next stage, inanimate objects were made to speak in the maqamas, and in the last stage, abstract objects such as science were made to speak. Although there are many studies on story maqams in Turkey, rarely research has been done on Islamic maqamas. With this article, it is aimed to provide a brief information about Islamic maqamas and to form a key to the studies to be done from now on. Maqamas of the informing type will be listed here
Entanglement in atom-photon systems
Cataloged from PDF version of article. In this work we propose a new principle from the point of view of quantum fluctuations
of observables. This new principle can be considered as an operational
definition of ME states. Moreover, we show the existence of perfect entangled
states of a single “spin-1” particle. We give physical examples related to the
photons, and particle physics. We show that a system of 2n identical two-level
atoms interacting with n cavity photons manifests entanglement and that the set
of entangled states coincides with the so-called SU(2) phase states. In particular,
violation of classical realism in terms of Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) and
Clauser-Horne-Shimoni-Holt (GHSH) conditions is proved. We also show that
generation of entangled states in the atom-photon systems under consideration
strongly depends on the choice of initial conditions
In order to obtain maximally robust entangled states we have combined maximum
principle with minimum of energy requirement for stabilization, called
Mini-max principle. We discuss the generation and monitoring of durable atomic
entangled state via Raman-type process, which can be used in the quantum information
processing. It is shown that the system of two three-level atoms in Λ
configuration in a cavity can evolve to a long-lived maximum entangled state if
the Stokes photons vanish from the cavity by means of either leakage or damping.
We presented some results based on the application of spherical wave representation
to description of quantum properties of multipole radiation generated
by atomic transitions. In particular, the angular momentum of photons including
the angular momentum entanglement, the quantum phase of photons, and the
spatial properties of polarization are discussed. Can, Muhammet AliPh.D
Spatial properties of quantum multipole radiation
Ankara : Department of Physics and the Institute of Engineering and Science of Bilkent Univ., 2000.Thesis (Master's) -- Bilkent University, 2000.Includes bibliographical references leaves 36-39.Complete quantum mechanical treatment of multipole radiation is constructed.
Vacuum noise of polarization for transversally and longitudirudly
polcirized fields is discussed for different total angular momentum values due to
the presence of quantum localized sources. It is shown that the spatial properties
of the multipole vacuum noise are independent of the type of the radiation, either
electric or magnetic.
New definition of polarization matrix constructed from the field-strength
tensor, Ricci Tensor, is introduced. Using Jaynes-Cummings model Hamiltonian
for electrical dipole atom, some statistical properties of the rcidiation are
considered.
A new method for polarization measurement at short and intermediate
distances from the source, based on the use of optical Aharonov-Bohm effect
is proposed which is classified as a quantum nondemolition measurement. This
proposed experiment leads to measure the longitudinal pohirization and spcicetirne
correlation of polarizations of multipole radiation. Can, Muhammet AliM.S
Cornual molar ectopic pregnancy
The aim of this study is to present a rarely seen cornual molar ectopic pregnancy case regarding with literature. 36 years old patient with the third pregnancy was referred to our clinic with the prediagnosis of viable ectopic pregnancy. The patient had two vaginal delivery history and she had vaginal bleeding as spotting onwards fifteen days. Ultrasonographicassessment demonstrated ectopic pregnancy with positive fetal cardiac activity and 8mm crown-rump length (6W5D) at right cornual region. The patient was performed cornotomy with laparotomy. Postoperative pathological evaluation was reported as a partial molar pregnancy. β-human chorionic gonadotropin (β-hCG) values declined dramatically and so additional treatment was not applied. Molar ectopic pregnancy findings are usually seen as conventional pregnancies and β-hCG values and histopathological evaluation is important for correct diagnosis and follow up
Does morbid obesity influence the success and complication rates of extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy for upper ureteral stones?
WOS: 000360378600005PubMed ID: 26328193Objective: The aim of the current study was to investigate whether obesity influences the outcome of extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy (ESWL) treatment for upper ureteral stones. Material and methods: This is a retrospective study of 134 patients who underwent ESWL between June 2011 and May 2014. Patients were divided into 2 groups. Group 1 comprised 94 patients of normal weight, and group 2 comprised 40 morbidly obese patients. Patients in both groups had upper ureteral stones. Results: The mean age of groups 1 and 2 was 45.6 +/- 12.1 and 45.3 +/- 15.5 years, respectively (p=0.98). There was no significant difference in demographic variables between the groups. The mean stone size in Groups 1 and 2 was 81.7 +/- 25.7 mm(2) and 86.3 +/- 22.4 mm(2), respectively (p=0.51), the mean body mass index (BMI) was 27.4 +/- 2.9 and 42.9 +/- 2.1, respectively (p<0.01), the mean number of ESWL sessions was 2.4 +/- 0.6 and 2.4 +/- 0.7, respectively (p=0.97), and the mean follow-up time was 7.1 +/- 3.4 and 6.6 +/- 2.8 weeks, respectively (p=0.67). The overall stone-free rate was 82% in group 1 and 67% in group 2 (p=0.01). Conclusion: It is well-known that morbidly obese patients have higher rates of anesthesia-related problems due to the comorbidities commonly observed in this population. In the current study, we found that ESWL is a safe and acceptable treatment option for morbidly obese patients with upper ureteral stones
Three-axis gap clearance I-PD controller design based on coefficient diagram method for 4-pole hybrid electromagnet
4-pole hybrid electromagnetic systems have a potential usage in many industrial areas, such as clean room design, transportation, semi-conductor manufacturing due to providing mechanical contact-free operation with considerably low energy consumption. However, the main problem of magnetic levitation process: it has highly nonlinear nature and even if it can be linearized, it has unstable pole(s), which makes the system vulnerable in terms of stability. In this paper, to overcome the instability issue and track the desired references for each degree of freedom, a modified PID controller (so called I-PD) design technique based on coefficient diagram method (CDM) has been proposed. CDM is an algebraic design applied to polynomial structure of the system on the parameter space, where a specific diagram is used to present and interpret the essential data. It is quite simple to apply with a visual support, requires basic mathematical computations for field engineers, and offers a good equilibrium in terms of simplicity, stability,
minimum overshoot and robustness, which are crucial specifications for maglev applications. The effectiveness and feasibility of CDM-based I-PD controller have been compared with CDMbased classical PID controller over an experimental set-up
Pulmonary papillary proliferation within a mature cystic teratoma of the ovary: a rare case report and review of literature
Background: Mature cystic teratomas are the most common germ cell tumors of the ovary. Both malignant and benign tumors may arise inside mature teratomas. Only 42 cases of pulmonary papillary adenomas are described in the literature, with only two cases of pulmonary papillary adenoma inside a mature cystic teratoma of the ovary. Case Report: This case report highlights the presence of a pulmonary papillary adenoma in a mature cystic teratoma of the ovary in a 28-year-old woman, which is the third case documented in the literature. This report also includes a review of the literature discussing its histomorphological and immunohistochemical features. Conclusion: Pulmonary papillary adenomas within ovarian mature cystic teratomas represent an exceedingly rare phenomenon warranting further research
