    Mutual Interaction Between Literature and Architectural Space

    Examples of the interaction of literature and architectural space are considered in this article. The considered examples demonstrate the role of literature in solving various architectural problems. For example, social tasks related to the safety of the urban environment, in the creation of a unique image of the city, the development of stylistic trends, environmental problems. Human perception of architectural space, described in the literature, can make an invaluable contribution to scientific research in the social and humanitarian direction. The description of architectural spaces allows us to identify the level of comfort, the influence of architectural objects and landscape on people, the correspondence of the urban environment to the worldview of the townspeople. Both directions have huge scientific potential in research activities. The result of this research is the interpretation of the literary description of the subject environment of applied folk art in a modern interior. The architectural space has a scenic character reflecting the literary descriptions of the yurt's interior. This approach can be used as the main direction in the development of the concept of architectural spaces for different functional purposes. This article examines an example of a kindergarten organized according to the principle of "the walls teach"

    Surface Modification of Polyethylene Terephthalate Track-Etched Membranes by 2,2,3,3,4,4,5,5,6,6,7,7-Dodecafluoroheptyl Acrylate for Application in Water Desalination by Direct Contact Membrane Distillation

    In this work, the surfaces of poly (ethylene terephthalate) track-etched membranes (PET TeMs) with pore sizes of 670–1310 nm were hydrophobized with 2,2,3,3,4,4,5,5,6,6,7,7-dodecafluoroheptyl acrylate (DFHA) by photoinitiated graft polymerization. Attenuated total reflection FTIR spectroscopy (ATR-FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) coupled to an energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometer (EDX), and contact angle measurements were used to identify and characterize the TeMs. The optimal parameters for graft polymerization were determined as follows: polymerization time of 60 min, monomer concentration of 30%, and distance from the UV source of 7 cm. The water contact angle of the modified membranes reached 97°, which is 51° for pristine membranes. The modified membranes were tested for water desalination using direct contact membrane distillation (DCMD) method. The effects of membrane pore size, the degree of grafting, and salt concentration on the performance of membrane distillation process were investigated. According to the results obtained, it has been concluded that large pore size hydrophobic TeMs modified by using DFHA could be used for desalinating water

    Psychological Reactions Among Adults During the COVID-19 Pandemic: A Cross-sectional Survey in Atyrau, Kazakhstan

    This cross-sectional survey conducted in Atyrau, Kazakhstan aimed to underline the psychological reactions among adults during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study involved sampling individuals from different age groups and employed standardized questionnaires to assess psychological and psychophysiological profiles, considering factors such as gender, age, education, and social status. A total of 798 participants were surveyed with informed consent obtained from all participants. The findings revealed a wide range of psychological reactions experienced by the urban population during the pandemic. Vulnerable groups, including the young, the elderly, and predominantly females, exhibited a significant negative impact on their psychological and psychophysical health. Factors such as education, social living conditions, family status, and income level played crucial roles in influencing individuals’ psychoemotional state. Comparative analysis between individuals diagnosed with COVID-19 and those without the disease showed that the pandemic acted as a trigger for the manifestation of psychoemotional, psychophysiological, and mental disorders. The study emphasized the importance of psychoprophylactic measures and psychoeducational methods for all population groups, particularly targeting vulnerable populations. Integration of mental health and psychosocial support services into the public health response was highlighted as crucial to mitigating the adverse effects on individuals’ mental health and overall well-being. Understanding the psychological reactions during the COVID- 19 pandemic provided valuable insights for developing effective interventions and support systems to alleviate the impact on individuals’ mental health. The study’s findings underscored the importance of addressing mental health needs and implementing targeted interventions to support the psychological well-being of the population

    Searching for Phase-Locked Variations of the Emission-Line Profiles in Binary Be Stars

    There is growing evidence that many Be stars are parts of binary systems. As the B-type primaries are very fast rotators and their spectral lines may be distorted by the circumstellar material, it is not easy to measure their radial velocity directly from the spectral lines. It has been shown that some Be binaries exhibit peak intensity variations consisting of double-peaked Hα lines that are phase-locked with orbital periods. We searched for such variations in the spectra of 12 Be stars, including several known and suspected binaries. Our results include confirmation of the orbital periods in ν Geminorum, ϵ Capricorni, κ Draconis, 60 Cygni, and V2119 Cygni, its refinement in o Puppis, as well as suggesting hints for binarity in o Aquarii, BK Camelopardalis, and 10 Cassiopeae. Monitoring of the Hα line profile variations in β Canis Minoris for over the last 10 years gives further support to the existence of a 182.5-day period found earlier in a smaller set of data. A similar but still preliminary period (179.6 days) was found in the Hα line profile variations in ψ Persei. It is shown for the first time that ν Geminorum exhibits phase-locked variations in the Hα emission peak intensity ratio and, therefore, is a part of the inner binary in this triple system. Our results show that the mentioned phase-locked peak intensity variations are observed in more Be binary systems than previously known and can be used to search for binarity of Be stars when application of other methods is inconclusive
