Estimation Of Longitudinal Moment Derivatives Of Missile Configuration Using Semi Free Flying Technique
A Semi-Free Dynamic Flying Test Technique Has Been Used To Estimate The Pitching Moment Derivatives Of A Missile Model. Wind Tunnel Tests Were Carried Out On A 1 :8 Scale Model Of PJ08 Missile Configuration. The Pitching Moment Derivatives Were Estimated From The Angular Motion Responses Of The Model To Doublet Input Using MLE Method. The Results Of Tests On Configuration 1 For Three CG Positions Are Detailed
Conjugation of Au Nanoparticles with Chlorambucil for Improved Anticancer Activity
Gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) of 30–40 nm in size has been prepared using A. hirsutus leaves extract as reducing agent for Au3+ ions under microwave irradiation from 60 to 360 s. These biocapped AuNPs were effectively conjugated with activated folic acid (FA, receptor) and chlorambucil (CHL, anticancer drug) molecules. The formation of AuNPs–FA–CHL was confirmed from different characterization techniques such as XRD, UV–Visible spectra, FT-IR and TEM images. The anticancer activity of these bioconjugated AuNPs was tested against human cancer cell lines (HeLa, RKO and A549) in comparison with normal epithelial cells (Vero). Unlike AuNPs and CHL alone, AuNPs–FA–CHL showed high toxicity towards human cancer cells by significantly decreasing the percentage viability of cells. Furthermore, the amount of drug released was found to be maximum at an ideal tumor environment pH 5.3.

Biological Control of F. Oxysporum F. Sp. Lycopersici Causing Wilt of Tomato by Pseudomonas Fluorescens
Abstract- Pseudomonas fluorescens is one of the major fungal biocontrol agents found in the soil and the rhizosphere of various crop systems. Ten isolates of P.fluorescens were isolated from rhizosphere soil samples collected from various tomato-growing fields and evaluated for their efficacy in increasing seed quality variables of tomato and in inhibiting the mycelial growth of Fusarium oxysporum. Pseudomonas isolate 2 produced effective results and was selected and mass multiplied. Talc and sodium alginate formulations of mass multiplied using different agents were prepared and evaluated for
their effects against fusarium wilt under greenhouse conditions. Fresh cultures of Pf2 isolate was found to increase seedling emergence and reduce fusarium wilt disease incidence when compared to the control and the formulations
Selection of effective bio-antagonistic bacteria for biological control of tomato wilt caused by Fusarium oxysporum F. sp. lycopersici
Bacteria from the rhizoplane soil and surrounding soil of healthy and Fusarium oxysporum diseased tomato plants of district regions of Karnataka were collected. The best bacterial strains, based on their ability to control development of Fusarium oxysporum isolate, were identified as BS1, BS5 and BS18. All bacterial isolates resulted effective for the in vitro control of growth of Fusarium oxysporum, where the control mechanisms used by the bacteria do not involve the secretion of fungal cell wall hydrolytic enzymes. On the other hand, all bacteria grew well in conditions similar to those that can be found at the field level (considering pH, salinity, Fe3+ and temp.) and showed a good capacity of tomato root colonization. These results suggest that Pseudomonas fluorescens isolates studied have an excellent potential to be used as biocontrol agents of Fusarium oxysporum in tomato greenhouses at the field level
Race, resistance and translation: the case of John Buchan’s UPrester John
In postcolonial translation studies, increasing attention is being given to the asymmetrical relationships between dominant and indigenous languages. This paper argues that John Francis Cele’s UPrester John (1958), is not simply a subordinated and obeisant translation of John Buchan’s adventure thriller Prester John (1910), but a more complex form of textuality that is both oppositional and complicit with the workings of apartheid. Although Cele’s translation reproduces Buchan’s story of a daring young Scotsman who single-handedly quells a black nationalist uprising, it also ameliorates the novel’s racist language and assumption. Cele’s translation practice is examined in the context of apartheid publishing and Bantu education.Web of Scienc
Loan Utilisation Pattern and Repayment Behaviour of Farmers: A Study on Alathur Primary Cooperative Agricultural and Rural Development Bank in Palakkad District
CARDBs have been assigned a vital role in agricultural development of ourcountry. It is through the branches of these banks that various programmes of the governmentare being implemented in the agricultural sector. The basic task of these banks is to developagriculture sector, which is the main occupation of the majority of people in our country and amajor contributor to national income. However, the PCARDBS in Kerala are passing throughits rough stage today. Many number of them are running at loss. The present study attempts toanalyse the performance of these banks by specially considering the loan utilisation patternand repayment behaviour of farmers who have availed loan from these bank. Data for thestudy was collected from sixty farmers who availed loan from Alathur PCARDB in Palakkaddistrict of Kerala and was subjected to analysis using the statistical tools such as percentageanalysis, indices and logistic regression analysis.
