Proposal for an optical laser producing light at half the Josephson frequency
We describe a superconducting device capable of producing laser light in the
visible range at half of the Josephson generation frequency with the optical
phase of the light locked to the superconducting phase difference. It consists
of two single-level quantum dots embedded into a p-n semiconducting
heterostructure and surrounded by a cavity supporting a resonant optical mode.
We study decoherence and spontaneous switching in the device.Comment: 4+3 pages, 3+1 figure
Simulation of Asymptotically AdS5 Spacetimes with a Generalized Harmonic Evolution Scheme
Motivated by the gauge/gravity duality, we introduce a numerical scheme based
on generalized harmonic evolution to solve the Einstein field equations on
asymptotically anti-de Sitter (AdS) spacetimes. We work in global AdS5, which
can be described by the (t,r,\chi,\theta,\phi) spherical coordinates adapted to
the R{\times}S3 boundary. We focus on solutions that preserve an SO(3) symmetry
that acts to rotate the 2-spheres parametrized by \theta,\phi. In the boundary
conformal field theory (CFT), the way in which this symmetry manifests itself
hinges on the way we choose to embed Minkowski space in R{\times}S3. We present
results from an ongoing study of prompt black hole formation via scalar field
collapse, and explore the subsequent quasi-normal ringdown. Beginning with
initial data characterized by highly distorted apparent horizon geometries, the
metrics quickly evolve, via quasi-normal ringdown, to equilibrium static black
hole solutions at late times. The lowest angular number quasi-normal modes are
consistent with the linear modes previously found in perturbative studies,
whereas the higher angular modes are a combination of linear modes and of
harmonics arising from non-linear mode-coupling. We extract the stress energy
tensor of the dual CFT on the boundary, and find that despite being highly
inhomogeneous initially, it nevertheless evolves from the outset in a manner
that is consistent with a thermalized N=4 SYM fluid. As a first step towards
closer contact with relativistic heavy ion collision physics, we map this
solution to a Minkowski piece of the R{\times}S3 boundary, and obtain a
corresponding fluid flow in Minkowski space
Study of Optimization of LInear Velocity of Rotary Blade and Tractor Forward Speed Ratio on Soil Pudding of Wet Field Rice
The study on optimization of linear velocity of rotary blade and tractor forward speed ratio oil soil puddling of wetjeld rice was carried out in order to find the relationship between linear velocity of rotary blade and tractor forward speed ratio (u-v ratio) and the number of tractor's pass versus soil puddling index and tractor wheel slip during the soil puddling, and todetermine the optimum u-v ratio for rice wetjeldpreparation with certain soil classijication and condition and also with certain two wheel tractor and rotary tiller. The result, using two types of two wheel tractors and rotary tillers, showed that soil puddling was extremely afSected by puddling pass Pequency. The puddling index increased with the increasing of puddling pass prequency until the soil became puddled soil, were 0. 18 up to 0.64 forjeld test I and 0.17up to 0.67 for field test 11 in average
Manajemen Rantai Pasokan Pada E-commerce Industri Makanan Ringan Kwt An-naba YOGYAKARTA
Persepsi Pejalan Kaki Terhadap Keamanan Dan Kenyamanan Jalur Trotoar Di Pusat Kota Amurang

Towards the Final Fate of an Unstable Black String
Black strings, one class of higher dimensional analogues of black holes, were
shown to be unstable to long wavelength perturbations by Gregory and Laflamme
in 1992, via a linear analysis. We revisit the problem through numerical
solution of the full equations of motion, and focus on trying to determine the
end-state of a perturbed, unstable black string. Our preliminary results show
that such a spacetime tends towards a solution resembling a sequence of
spherical black holes connected by thin black strings, at least at intermediate
times. However, our code fails then, primarily due to large gradients that
develop in metric functions, as the coordinate system we use is not well
adapted to the nature of the unfolding solution. We are thus unable to
determine how close the solution we see is to the final end-state, though we do
observe rich dynamical behavior of the system in the intermediate stages.Comment: 17 pages, 7 figure
Comparisons of binary black hole merger waveforms
This a particularly exciting time for gravitational wave physics.
Ground-based gravitational wave detectors are now operating at a sensitivity
such that gravitational radiation may soon be directly detected, and recently
several groups have independently made significant breakthroughs that have
finally enabled numerical relativists to solve the Einstein field equations for
coalescing black-hole binaries, a key source of gravitational radiation. The
numerical relativity community is now in the position to begin providing
simulated merger waveforms for use by the data analysis community, and it is
therefore very important that we provide ways to validate the results produced
by various numerical approaches. Here, we present a simple comparison of the
waveforms produced by two very different, but equally successful
approaches--the generalized harmonic gauge and the moving puncture methods. We
compare waveforms of equal-mass black hole mergers with minimal or vanishing
spins. The results show exceptional agreement for the final burst of radiation,
with some differences attributable to small spins on the black holes in one
case.Comment: Revtex 4, 5 pages. Published versio
Simulation of Binary Black Hole Spacetimes with a Harmonic Evolution Scheme
A numerical solution scheme for the Einstein field equations based on
generalized harmonic coordinates is described, focusing on details not provided
before in the literature and that are of particular relevance to the binary
black hole problem. This includes demonstrations of the effectiveness of
constraint damping, and how the time slicing can be controlled through the use
of a source function evolution equation. In addition, some results from an
ongoing study of binary black hole coalescence, where the black holes are
formed via scalar field collapse, are shown. Scalar fields offer a convenient
route to exploring certain aspects of black hole interactions, and one
interesting, though tentative suggestion from this early study is that behavior
reminiscent of "zoom-whirl" orbits in particle trajectories is also present in
the merger of equal mass, non-spinning binaries, with appropriately fine-tuned
initial conditions.Comment: 16 pages, 14 figures; replaced with published versio
