Where have all the radicals gone? How normative pressures can blunt the radical edge of a social enterprise.

Purpose: This paper tracks the operations of a radical social enterprise, ‘New Horizon’ which attempted to provide a different approach to improve the independent living and employment opportunities for disabled people. The longitudinal study covers a period from the new labour project in the late 1990’s to current austerity measures. Design methodology approach: The project applied an emancipatory disability research agenda which places both the social and material relations of knowledge in the hands of the disabled participants. Findings: Under the neo-liberal marketization of public services, the radical nature of the organisation needed to be tempered as different stakeholder groupings required different and not always complementary approaches to be undertaken to maintain legitimacy. Neoinstitutional pressures tended to drive the organisation towards conformity with similar more mainstream rivals meaning the radical approach which assisted the formation of the organisation became less observable. Originality value: This longitudinal study of a radical disability organisation which is undertaken through an emancipatory disability research agenda provides a unique insight into a marginalised and largely disenfranchised group in society. The paper provides a voice for the disabled stakeholders of New Horizon and hence differs from the majority of social research in that interpretations and analysis arise from the knowing subjects of research as opposed to the more traditional nondisabled academic research community

- Energi listrik merupakan hal yang sangat penting bagi kehidupan manusia. Saat ini kita telah merasakan krisis energi sehingga kita harus memanfaatkan energi listrik dengan sangat bijak. Potensi energi terbarukan khususnya energi air saat ini merupakan solusi dari krisis energi saat ini. Simulator Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Piko Hidro adalah merupakan suatu alat atau media yang mirip dengan pembangkit listrik tenaga air asli yang kegunaannya untuk memperkenalkan atau menjelaskan serta membantu dalam pemahaman agar lebih memberikan pengertian dari suatu alat yang skalanya lebih besar. Dalam penelitian ini memaparkan hasil pengukuran dan pengujian simulator Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Piko Hidro (PLTPH) serta pembuatan modul praktikum yang belum tersedia, simulator ini dirancang untuk mengetahui mengenai skema Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Air (PLTA) sebagai bahan pembelajaran. Setelah simulator PLTPH di uji cobakan, Maka didapatkan debit pada saluran 0.29 L/det dan nilai head 22,85 meter, Dengan potensial daya sebesar 500 W atau 0,5 kW dengan efisiensi generator 0,85 dan efisiensi turbin 0,9. serta jumlah kutub generator 4 kutub dan kecepatan 1400 rpm. Hubungan antara Jumlah Neutrofil dan Monosit dengan Tingkat Mortalitas pada Penderita Stroke Iskemik

Background: Stroke is a syndrome with rapidly growing clinical manifestations and may cause functional brain disorders lasting more than 24 hours. The description of ischemic pathology in stroke can lead to leukocyte infiltration that can accelerate and extend infarction. An increase in the number of neutrophils and monocytes can lead to a poor prognosis until death. Objective: This study aims to identify the relationship between the number of neutrophils and monocytes with mortality rates in patients with ischemic stroke. Method: This research type is analytic observational with cross sectional approach. The number of samples used as many as 146 samples consisted of 73 live patients and 73 patients died with consecutive sampling technique. The sample of research is medical record of ischemic stroke patient complete with leukocyte count and patient mortality. Data were analyzed using Chi-Square test followed by logistic regression test with computer analysis software. Results: The chi-square test of the relationship between neutrophil count and mortality rate showed p=<0.001 and RP=2.353 and the relationship between monocyte count and mortality rate showed p=0.002 and RP=1.985. So statistically this research hypothesis accepted and have relationship (p=<0,05). Result of logistic regression test increase of neutrophil p=<0,001 and increase of monocyte p=0,001. Probability value 69.2% Conclusion: There is a relationship between the number of neutrophils and monocytes with mortality rates in patients with ischemic stroke
