    Results of research on removal of lead from synthetic and industrial Cu-Pb-Fe alloy with argon barbotage are presented. For examinations was taken a synthetic alloy and industrial alloy coming “Glogow II” Copperworks. As basic research equipment was used a pipe resistance furnace enabling heating of samples up to 1 473 K. Examinations were made in 2 test series. The 1 series was performed on the synthetic alloy, while in 2 series was used an industrial alloy. All series were conducted at 1 473 K and with gas fl ow 5,55•10<sup>-6</sup>, 6,94•10<sup>-6</sup>, 8,33•10<sup>-6</sup>, 9,72•10<sup>-6</sup> m<sup>3</sup>•s<sup>-1</sup>

Za ispitiva nje odabrana je sintetička industrijska legura iz tvrtke za bakar “Glogow II”. Osnovni uređaj za istraživanje je cje vasta peć sa mogućnošću zagrijavanja uzoraka iznad 1 473 K. Ispitivanja su provedena u 2 serije. Prva serija je provedena na sintetičkoj leguri, a druga serija na industrijskim legurama. Sve serije su izvedene na 1 473 K sa strujom plina 5,55•10-6, 6,94•10-6, 8,33•10-6, 9,72•10-6 m3•s-1

    Deep learning approach to describe and classify fungi microscopic images

    Preliminary diagnosis of fungal infections can rely on microscopic examination. However, in many cases, it does not allow unambiguous identification of the species by microbiologist due to their visual similarity. Therefore, it is usually necessary to use additional biochemical tests. That involves additional costs and extends the identification process up to 10 days. Such a delay in the implementation of targeted therapy may be grave in consequence as the mortality rate for immunosuppressed patients is high. In this paper, we apply a machine learning approach based on deep neural networks and Fisher Vector (advanced bag-of-words method) to classify microscopic images of various fungi species. Our approach has the potential to make the last stage of biochemical identification redundant, shortening the identification process by 2-3 days, and reducing the cost of the diagnosis

    Energy - and Heat-aware HPC Benchmarks

    International audienceTo evaluate data centers is tough. Several metrics are available to provide insight into their behaviour, but usually they are tested using simple benchmarks like LINPACK for HPC oriented data centers. A good choice of benchmarks is necessary to evaluate all the impact of applications on those data centers. One point that is often overlooked is their energy- and thermal-quality. To evaluate these qualities, adequate benchmarks are required from several points of view: from the nodes to the whole building. Classical benchmarks selection mainly focuses on time and raw performance. This article aims at shifting the focus towards an energy- and power-point of view. To this end, we select benchmarks able to evaluate data centers not only from this performance perspective, but also from the energy and thermal standpoint. We also provide insight into several classical benchmarks and method to select an adequate and small number of benchmarks in order to provide a sensible and minimum set of energy- and thermal-aware benchmarks for HPC systems
