    A historical study of the Asian Men's Volleyball Championships from (1975) to (2021)

    Studying the history of sports and knowing their achievements is of great importance as it is considered a means of advancement for societies and a measure of their culture and stages of development in all fields. One of the important sports games at the international and local levels is volleyball, which has a long history at the global level. The importance of the research lies in knowing the teams participating in the Asian championships and their most important results and where they were held from the first Asian Championship for men's teams in (1975) until the last championship held in Japan in (2021). Through the teams' participation in the Asian Men's Volleyball Championships, many teams have emerged on the Asian scene. The question here is whether there is documentation of these participations. What are the most important positions that the teams have obtained and also knowing the reasons for their development. And knowing the reasons for the fluctuations in the results and participations of some teams in the Asian Men's Championships. The most important conclusions reached by this research are that there are many achievements and participations for the teams that have not been documented. They have been documented

    Numerical Analysis of the Chemical Reactions Effects on NOx Conversion under Various Reduced Electric Fields

    Link to publisher's homepage at http://ijneam.unimap.edu.myThe purpose of this work is to investigate the contribution of different chemical reactions that participate in NOx creation or reduction in N2/O2/H2O/CO2 mixed gas induced by negative corona discharge under different reduced electric field levels:100 - 200 Td (1Td=10−21 V.m2). The fundamental chemistry governing NOx evolution developed in this paper is based on a full set of processes regrouped in 200 selected chemical reactions involving 36 molecular, excited, atomic, and charged species. The density was calculated using the continuity equation while not the diffusion term, and the time analysis varied from 10−9 to 10−3s. The results of simulations show the role played by different chemical reactions on NOx conversion. It is shown that at 100 Td near 60% of NO can be removed by radical through the reaction NO + → + O2 and near 20% of NO2 and NO3 could be removed by radicals and through NO2 + → + O3 and NO3+ → N O2 respectively

    Hydrological and Geometric Analysis of a Proposed Reservoir on the Upper Zab River Using GIS and Remote Sensing Techniques

    Iraq and many countries are currently facing complex challenges concerning desertification and scarcity of water resources due to the increased demand for water and climate change. This study proposes establishing a water reservoir to address Iraq's water resource deficit, focusing on selecting the optimal location along the Upper Zab River. This river supplies approximately 26.6% of the Tigris River's water, yet it lacks any existing dams or reservoirs in its Iraqi stretch. The study has two main parts: First, it identifies the ideal dam reservoir location using GIS and other tools, determining a minimum capacity of 5.5 billion cubic meters. The study's second part involves gathering extensive meteorological and hydrological data from the upstream basins of the reservoir. This data supports the choice of the dam location as it is ideal for a water reservoir. The study also factors in the local population and nearby villages and essential data on multi-year water discharge and seasonal variations to determine dam filling time and create suitable management plans. At a water level of 372.5 meters, there is a significant change in positive lake areas and volumes. The positive volume increased substantially from 4.1 to 23.75 million cubic meters compared to 370 meters. Similarly, the positive surface area expanded notably from 1.22 to 2.28 million square meters. This trend is also seen in the positive surface area, which shifts from 1.23 to 2.54 million square meters at the same water levels. The current study considered the support of water management strategies in accordance with the principle of balance between the needs of society, the protection of the ecosystem, and the economic system. It also ensured insignificant population displacement and harm to agricultural lands in the dam basin area

    Master of Science in Polymer EngineeringThe utilization of waste rubber from recycled natural latex gloves (rNL-G) by means of compounding together with synthetic rubber: acrylonitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) could represents a new product with an acceptable properties. Results in first series which NBR/ rNL-G compounds particularly fine size up to 20 phr loading of rNL-G, showed overall improvement in cure characteristic, tensile, physical and thermal properties compared to coarser size and other rNL-G loading. Meanwhile, in second series, the incorporation of sawdust short fiber (SD) as natural filler at different loading was studied with optimum rNL-G loading filled NBR from the first series. Results indicated that, the addition of SD loading at 5 phr increased the adhesion between NBR matrix, which led to improve the cure characteristics such as lower cure time and increase the stiffness and rigidity such as modulus and hardness. At third series, the addition of 6 phr of trans-polyoctylene rubber (TOR) as a compatibilizer has increased the crosslinking density and enhanced the incorporation of NBR/ rNL-G compounds, therefore improving the compatibility of NBR/ rNL-G compounds. Most of cure characteristics, tensile, physical and thermal properties of compatibilised NBR/ rNL-G compounds, particularly 6 phr TOR showed better overall properties than uncompatibilised NBR/ rNL-G compounds. The combination of all material referring from optimum loading of 1st series at 20 phr rNL-G/ fine size, 2nd series at 5 phr SD and 3rd series at 6 phr TOR. The NBR/ rNL-G /SD/TOR compound exhibited the most improvement properties particularly the thermal stability, tensile and physical properties. The tensile fracture surface of all series were supported by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) observation proved the behavior of optimum strength of each compound respectively

    Application of Emulsion Liquid Membrane Process for Cationic Dye Extraction

    In the present work studies were carried out to extract a cationic dye (Methylene Blue MB) from an aqueous solution using emulsion liquid membrane process (ELM). The organic phase (membrane phase) consists of Span 80 as emulsifier, sulfuric acid solution as stripping agent and hexane as diluent. &#x0D; In this study, important factors influencing the extraction of methylene blue dye were studied. These factors include H2SO4 concentration in the stripping phase, agitation speed in the dye permeation stage, Initial dye concentration and diluent type.&#x0D;    More than (98%) of Methylene blue dye was extracted at the following conditions: H2SO4 concentration (1.25) M, agitation speed (200) rpm, dye concentration (10) ppm and the diluent type was hexane.</jats:p

    يهدف البحث الحالي الى التعرف على : 1- مستوى ادمان الانترنت لدى طلبة المرحلة الثانوية  . 2- مستوى التسرب الدراسي لدى طلبة المرحلة الثانوية  . 3- العلاقة بين ادمان الانترنت  و التسرب الدراسي  لدى طلبة المرحلة الثانوية  .       اعتمد الباحثون في اختيار عينة بحثهم على الطريقة الطبقية العشوائية ولتحقيق اهداف البحث قام الباحثون باختيار (450) طالبا وطالبة من طلبة المرحلة الثانوية في قضاء البغدادي التابعة لمحافظة الانبار , وقد تبنى الباحثون مقياس ادمان الانترنت الذي اعدته (بشرى اسماعيل ارنؤط , 2007 ) ويحتوي على (60) فقرة, ومقياس التسرب الدراسي  الذي أعده " (الغانمي، 2017 ) المكون من (30) فقرة , وبعد استخراج الخصائص القياسية للمقياسين (الصدق والثبات) قام الباحثون بتطبيق المقياسين على عينة البحث الاساسية , ثم حللت البيانات الاحصائية بالاستعانة ببرنامج الحقيبة الاحصائية للعلوم الاجتماعية في معالجة البيانات (SPSS). وتوصل البحث الى النتائج الاتية : 1-ان عينة البحث من طلبة الثانوية لديهم مستوى متوسط من ادمان الانترنت  . 2-ان عينة البحث من طلبة الثانوية  لديهم مستوى متوسط من  التسرب دراسي  . 3-توجد علاقة ارتباطية طردية موجبة دالة احصائياً بين ادمان الانترنت  والتسرب الدراسي اي كلما زاد ادمان الانترنت زاد التسرب الدراسي وبالعكس  للعينة ككل . وفي ضوء نتائج البحث أوصى الباحثون بعدد من التوصيات والمقترحات .</jats:p

    The History of Clubs?: Participation in the Iraqi Volleyball Premier League and Its Results for the Period from (1991 to 2022)

    The purpose of this paper is to identifying the results of the clubs participating in the men's Volleyball Premier League for the period from (1991) to (2022), archive the results of the Iraqi clubs participating in the Iraqi Premier League for men for the period from (1991) to (2022), and diagnosing and analyzing the causes of fluctuation in the participation of some Iraqi clubs in the Premier League for men for the period from (1991) to (2022). The nature of the research necessitated that the researcher use the historical approach or the so-called documentary approach, taking advantage of the historical development that took place for the participation of Iraqi clubs for men in the Premier League from (1991) until 2022), the last league held in Baghdad, in order to suit this approach to the objectives of the study, as it is considered the historical approach. The research sample included the Iraqi clubs participating in the Iraqi Premier League for men's volleyball, which numbered (32) participants, as they were chosen by the intentional method, as they fall within the period under study for the period from (1991) to (2022). The reason for choosing the year (1991) came because in this year the Iraqi league and Iraqi sports in general were resumed because of the war, and the reason for choosing the year (2022) was that it was the last league. One of the most important results reached by the researcher is that: Many participations of the Iraqi teams in the Iraqi Volleyball Premier League championship are not documented, and therefore there are several advanced positions that were achieved during the period from (1991) to (2022) that are not documented by the authorities concerned with the game (Iraqi Volleyball Federation), and it became clear to us that the most participating club in the Iraqi league is Al-Sina’a Club with (32) participation, followed by Al-Shorta Club and then Al-Bahri Club from (1991 to 2022). One of the most important recommendations recommended by the researchers is that: The importance of documenting the participation of Iraqi teams in the Iraqi Premier League in volleyball on an ongoing basis by opening records of participation in the federation and conducting other historical studies of the sports teams and counting their participation in the foreign championships for men and women

    Currently, Malaysia like other Asian countries has experienced rapid expansion of urbanization due to economic development, industrialization, massive migrations as well as natural population growth. This expansion particularly unplanned consumed a huge amount of arable land in the urban milieu and in its surrounding areas. This paper aims to measure arable land loss due to massive urbanization in Balik Pulau region of Penang State, Malaysia. Landsat TM (Thematic Mapper) images of 1992 and 2002 at the resolution of 30 m and Landsat ETM (Enhanced Thematic Mapper) 2010 have been used to measure the rate of urban expansion and its impact on agricultural land. The integration of Remote Sensing and Geographical information system GIS were used to quantify the conversion of arable land to built-up areas in Penang State. The result reveals that built-up areas have expanded rapidly during the last four decades at the expense of agricultural land in Balik Pulau Region. Built-up areas had increased from 1793.22 ha in 1992 to 3235.38 ha in 2002, while agricultural areas decreased from 6171.32 to 4727.83 ha during the same period. The expansion of Built-up area is directed towards low-lying areas with less topographical barrier causing heavy loss in productive land and environmental degradation. In order to safeguard the environment and maintain arable land, urbanization should be controlled and rationalized through legislative measures, wise policy and public awareness.
